Star of the sea reminds us of our core.

Ahhhhhh, Spring has sprung! A soft pink glow filled the sky, setting the stage for the sun to rise, looking like a striped hot air balloon pausing to kiss the ocean goodbye before lifting into the day. The flock flew in ready for bath time, wings open and hearts open, soaking in the light.

And then… a surprise—a nine-legged starfish resting at the edge. The star of the sea whispered, “My center is my core, the place my arms reach out from. I am a reminder to rest into your center and trust your intuition. I know change and regeneration can feel challenging, remember you hold an innate power to heal, grow, and prosper. You got this!”

Happy Equinox

Happy Equinox!

The equinox arrives, bringing perfect balance—light and dark standing as equals, if only for a moment.

A reminder that life is not about choosing one over the other…

but learning to hold both with grace.

Two gulls rise together in front of the sun,

a reflection of connection, partnership, and the quiet strength of not doing it all alone.

And then the eagle…

soaring above it all, steady and sure,

reminding us to rise, trust our perspective,

and to see the bigger picture unfolding.

Balance.

Connection.

Perspective.

The natural world mirrors what you already know.

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Use what you have

Good Morning!

Weeeeeee… the wind was whipping again this morning. The sunrise felt almost black and white as the flock hovered in place, using the wind while they waited for the sun.

Pixar, my gull friend with the dangly leg, was sporting his black head—looking extra dapper, don’t you think?

The gulls said, “Use what you have to support your journey. We don’t always love the wind—it can make it harder to fly where we want to go. But when we learn to work with it instead of against it, it can carry us.”

As the sun rose, light streamed through the clouds, instantly shifting the mood from neutral to wow.

The light show continued, reminding us how quickly things can change… and how even the strongest winds can become part of the lift.

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Forgiveness creates space for new

Good Morning! The waning moon glowed brightly against the lavender sky as I walked to the beach. As this moon cycle comes to an end, the energy of the upcoming new moon can already be felt, bringing us today’s message.

The new moon emphasizes dreams, intuition, creativity, and healing. The man in the moon said, “Use my energy to release past regrets, allowing forgiveness and creating space for the new to enter your life.”

The flock added, “Spending time near water during this moon phase can help you navigate any intensity you may be feeling and bring a sense of calm as a new cycle begins.”

Gratitude

If you are just tuning in and didn’t know how I became a photographer…

Ten years ago today, my husband Roy passed away suddenly.

The following year, in 2017, he came to me in a dream and said,

“Come on, I’m taking you shopping. I want you to have a Canon professional camera.”

Becoming a photographer wasn’t even on my radar before that dream. But that camera changed everything. It led me to the lagoon… to the dolphins, the birds, the sunrises… and eventually to all of you.

If the photos, the dolphins, the birds, or the sunrises speak to you, please take a moment to send Roy Desjarlais a moment of gratitude. His visit in that dream set this whole journey in motion and helped create this beautiful pod we share today — people from all over coming together, connecting through nature.

Thank you for your love, encouragement, and support through the years. Today I am grateful for Roy, for all of you, and for the support of Mother Nature.

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Stillness to recharge

Ahhhhh… Mother Nature brought us a calm and sweet sunrise. The waning moon hung high in the sky as the first light sent soft pink rays across the dark morning.

The flock flew in early for a much-needed bath time. While we were getting squeaky clean, a solo pelican hopped off Pelican Highway to join us.

He said, “I enjoy stopping to take in the sunrise. A moment of stillness helps me recharge and soak up some vitamin D.”

Soon the sun rose unencumbered over the calm ocean, sending warmth and liquid gold across the water to begin the new day.

We are all connected

Good Morning! The morning was dark and reflective with wet sand mirroring back the dramatic sky. Just minutes after I arrived the flock started circling the fishermen nearby. Turns out, of the flock was tangled in line. The good news is the fisherman helped untangle the laughing gull.

The birds bring us the message today, “We are connected. We feel it when one is in trouble and lend our support by staying close. The ripples move through all of us.”

The sun came up as the bird was free to fly and a celebration ensued as the flock flew back and forth as one. Clouds soaked up the sun after its rose giving us a peaceful start tot the day.

Be easy on yourself as you learn

Ahhhhh, Mother Nature brought us a calm and soothing sunrise. Just a light layer of salty fog today with a flat ocean adding to the serene vibe.

A dolphin glided quietly through the golden orange water, its dorsal fin tracing a soft line across the glowing surface like a brushstroke of morning light.

After sunrise an immature (young) yellow-crowned night heron surprised me by hopping up on the seawall just as Spot flew in with mating colors! Spotty Spot is looking good!

The young yellow-crowned night heron said, “Did you know we eat crabs whole, even the shell? We hunt by standing still for long periods of time. I am young so I am still learning patience and how to trust the subtle cues in my environment. I know to be easy on myself, learning takes time.”

Tales from the Lagoon~Episode-Pelican Steals Baby Dolphin’s Fish!

Baby Sarafina is back!! S/he was born around Memorial Day last year was back in the lagoon. She and Momma Sarabi spent the first 2 months in the lagoon getting photographed. I haven't seen them since Early August.

Tonight Sarafina was his/her usually playful self, tossing up fish. I joke in the video s/he is feeding the pelican but s/he wasn't on purpose. She is learning and the pelican took advantage...watch at the end Momma Sarabi gives the pelican a gentle bump saying, "That was naughty."

Stay tuned for more tales!

Create from inside out

Mother Nature is sticking with the foggy theme this week, giving us a soothing and cozy golden start to the day. The breeze was light, adding to the peaceful vibe.

A chatty flock was sweet and engaging. One of the gulls in the middle of the flock locked eyes with me, freezing time. He said, “Connection happens even in the chaos. All you have to do is use your laser focus and beam the love.”

Eventually, the beautiful sun came up, filling the landscape with a golden glow and illuminating the masterful art of the spider.

The spiders said, “We are master builders because we create from the inside out. Start from your heart and let your vision come to life. Thread by thread, the web reminds us of the strength of a single strand.”

Stay present, move with the moment

Ahhhhh, another warm and foggy sunrise starting the day off cozy and quiet. Mother Nature used the same colors again, heavy on the bronze and gold.

The flock was a bit smaller and full of vim and vigor, darting off and back in a whoooosh! Despite the quick departure and return, they flew as one, in sync. Like a perfectly choreographed ballet, they moved in close proximity but never crashed.

The flock said, “Stay tuned in to yourself and your surroundings. When you do, everything flows with a natural rhythm. Nothing to force, just stay present and move with the moment.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
