Lean into your strengths

Ahhhh, another soft and sweet sunrise overflowing with beauty. A heavy layer of salty mist clung to the shore with the absence of a breeze. Pink and purple swirly clouds were on the horizon and covered the ocean like a silk blanket.

Some of the flock was already at the beach when I arrived, including Hook. More of the flock joined us as sun came up. Hook seemed to take our connection to the next level today.

I walked into the water saying, “Come on, let’s have bath time.” Much to my surprise, Hook came hopping in the water and bathed just a few feet away showing off his beautiful feathers making lots of eye contact. I could feel the water took the pressure and weight off his legs giving him some relief.

He said, I bring the message of leaning into your strengths. Put your focus on what makes you feel solid. Take time to relieve any pressure and stress that weighs you down. This recipe will help you feel strong and able to stay the course.”

Wishing you a day filled with sweet connections.

Sing, dream and love anyway

WOW, such a beautiful sunrise, starting with a lovely pastel color palette morphing to a beautiful golden and red glow filling the sky.

Salt filled the air making the morning misty and soothing in my lungs. The flock of seagulls were so darn cute today. Lots of eye contact and posing for the camera. They bring so much joy with their animated personalities.

One legger and Hook were the most vocal today. They both flew at the camera with intense eye contact and said, “We know life can be overwhelming and sometimes painful, we highly recommend diving in like you have never been hurt. Despite our injuries, we still experience lots of joy and fun.”

Like Martina McBide sings in her song Anyway…..

This world's gone crazy

It's hard to believe

That tomorrow will be better than today

Believe it anyway

You can love someone with all your heart

For all the right reasons

In a moment they can choose to walk away

Love 'em anyway

You can pour your soul out singing

A song you believe in

That tomorrow they'll forget you ever sang

Sing it anyway

Yeah, sing it anyway

I sing

I dream

I love

Anyway

Have an amazing day friends!

Self love is good for the immune system

Mother Nature started the day with her Peace Light Ray jetting into the sky filling the morning with a hopeful vibe. The sand was still wet from a short rain shower and the soft breeze felt soft and gentle.

So many birds today! The flock of seagulls came in for bath in the golden light. 2 skimmers barked as they flew by, Pelican Highway was jamming going southbound, a flock of sandpipers hung around to enjoy some down time, and if that wasn’t enough, a reddish egret stopped by to grab breakfast.

The birds bring us the message of self care today. Piper the sandpiper was extra adorable and wanted to connect. She said, “I’m a little tired today. Resting for just a few minutes helps me restore balance.”

One of the gulls looking at herself said, “Self love is good for the immune system. When you are kind to your reflection, it makes your cells happy.” Big Red passed by super close saying, “Closeness with others is good for the soul too!”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Celebrate your wins

Today the  sunrise was like a box of chocolates and we got all the flavors in one morning.  It morphed several times giving us a variety of beautiful colors and cloud art.

The breeze and temperature felt soothing against my skin. The churning ocean and happy flock filled the morning with a happy vibe.

As the sun came up the seagulls enjoyed bath time. While bathing they burst into the air in a line.  One of the gulls in the line said, “Be that bird that leads with with your heart open sharing your beautiful light with the world.”

A squawking osprey with a fish flew by in the distance saying, “Like my osprey friend said yesterday, surveying is necessary so you are ready to dive in and grab your snack. I’d like to add how fun it is to celebrate your wins.  No matter the size of your fish, relish in the joy of success.  Success has many meanings, I highly recommend stretching out the celebration of both small and big victories of  to attract more joy and abundance.”

Wishing you a celebratory day!

Survey your options

Soft pink ribbon shaped clouds were woven together on the horizon as the sun came up to greet the day. The sun came up looking like a striped pink ball then morphed into a giant Easter egg with spring colors. The salty breeze felt soothing and healing.

An osprey flew over head saying, “I bring the message of floating along, surveying all your options. I encourage diving in when the time is right, not to worry, you will know when to take action.”

Hook, the seagull and friends flew in to hang out and watch the sun come up. One of the gulls was snuggled in taking a nap. She said, Sometimes, just a few minutes of rest can reboot your system. Don’t tell the cats I said this, but they are right, cat naps really do work.”

A day of rest courtesy of jellyfish

A day of rest courtesy of jellyfish.

I wasn’t going to post but I’ve heard of several jellyfish stings from last weekend.

I’ve learned a few new things about jellyfish this week and wanted to share because New Smyrna Beach area had loads of jellyfish last weekend. I’m not a doctor, just sharing my experience.

I was stung by 4 jellyfish last weekend in 24 hours. The second day, I put on my wetsuit pants but the jellyfish were still able to find my ankles. At the time of the stings it was quite painful, especially the last 2, but the fiery pain subsided after a few hours and I didn’t feel bad.

4 days later I was experiencing difficulty breathing, so I got a covid test which thankfully was negative. I was also examined by a medical professional, my vitals were good, oxygen levels are good.

I was a bit stumped when the respiratory difficulty continued. When I finally realized it was a reaction to the jellyfish I also learned a reaction to a sting can be delayed for a week or even a month. This was new to me! My guess is 4 stings in a short period of time was too much for my body to process.

The interesting part is the symptoms are similar to covid. Headache, muscle pain, weakness, feeling tired and respiratory difficulty and it seemed to come out of the blue, since it was 4 days after the jellyfish stings.

An antihistamine has helped tremendously. Not to worry, I’m on the mend and armed with my long wetsuit pants and tall boots ready to play with friends.

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Angels all around

When I walk to the beach in the morning I always ask, “Please, show me the magic, help me see the sign that is most helpful today.” Today I added, “Please, especially on this day.”

At first the morning was dark with a huge wall of gray clouds on the horizon. The breeze was strong and felt good in my lungs. The ocean was churning with power. I was surprised the flock of seagulls were nowhere in sight.

I snapped the pre sunrise enjoying the fall kind of feel to the day. A solo seagull flew by with a worm saying, “It’s really true, the early bird does catch the worm.”

Once the sun was up the flock flew in and seemed to be acting a little strange. I was thinking, interesting they were late and they are acting a little different. I was hoping one of them would look like an angel in flight but they had a bigger plan.

They were not flying in their usual circles, instead they were staying close together and facing the sun. I thought they must be facing in the wind for ease. They said, “Flocking together gives us comfort. We rely on each other to feel safe and part of a community.”

It wasn’t until I got back to my computer that I saw the seagulls seemed to be pointing at orbs. I’m sure there is a logical reason for the circles but they only showed up in 9 consecutive images and the seagulls seemed to be pointing to them.

The flock said, “We really are connected to our angel loved ones. We may not always know it, feel them or see them but that doesn’t mean they are not there.”

Wishing you a day feeling connected.

Smiling Improves your mood

Mother Nature brought us a pretty in pink sunrise with fluffy gray clouds. The ocean was churning out huge waves again. The water would recede for a long time then come in with a huge surge of power rushing up high on the beach. Yummy salt filled the air as the breeze carried the top of the waves into the air.

The flock of seagulls came in for bath time and quality time. One of the gulls enjoying the waves said, “I use the power of the water to help me let go which helps me feel light enough to stand on my tippy toes and lead with my heart. It feels so good to let go and feel lighter.”

After sunrise a pod of dolphins swam by, rolling around on each other and popping up as they passed by. The joy was infectious, I instantly smiled and felt happy. They said, “Even just a few moments of play can bring a smile. Smiling can improve your mood and boost your immune system.”

Wishing you a smiley kind of day!

Embody your inner baby turtle

The morning started with faint pink swirly clouds on the horizon with the contrast of huge fluffy clouds to the north. The flock of seagulls flew by but didn’t stop to chat. A pelican couple flew by showing their sweet connection and teamwork.

I was excited to see the New Smyrna Beach Turtle Trackers release baby loggerhead turtles at sunrise. The baby turtles are always inspiring, seeing their little flippers carry them forward toward the vast ocean. They bring the message of resilience and moving forward even if the path looks daunting.

One little one looked at the camera and said,”Sure I’m title but I have ancestors who made the journey before me, I tap into their strength and bravery to show me the way. Our lineage gives me super powers.”

The Turtle Trackers are a lot like these amazing babies. They are dedicated, resilient and focused. They work tirelessly, dig deep in the sand to save the babies, endure heat, bugs, and very long days. Thank you to all the Turtle Trackers for all you do to keep our beloved turtles safe and protected.

Wishing you a day embodying your inner baby turtle.

Timing, pace and discernment

Mother Nature brought us a muted sunrise with a mixture of swirly clouds and thick layer of salty mist from the waves hugging the shoreline.

The surfers were coming from every direction to enjoy the huge waves. The water was speckled with hundreds of surfers before the sun came up.

The flock of seagulls flew in for a few minutes. One of the seagulls was giving the flock instructions of how to lean back, spread her wings and let the love pour in. She said, “It’s easy, take a deep breath and relax into receiving love.”

After sunrise I ran into a turtle strolling down the sidewalk. He looked like he had just finished a muddy breakfast. He and the surfers bring us the message of timing, pace and discernment.

The turtle said, “Us turtles and the surfers know we can’t rush the process. We bring the message of knowing when to go in the shell and when to come out. It’s the same for the surfer, knowing when to catch a wave and when to bail. Trust your intuition, you can trust yourself and the timing of life. Enjoy the journey!”

Momma and Baby River

Tales from the Lagoon~ Episode- Momma and Youngin'

This is the second time I have hung out with this momma and youngin.'

Although I'm still not 100% sure, I believe this is the dolphin I call Momma. She has the same rope entanglement scar with divots as the Momma I met in 2018.

Momma and I have spent a lot of time together since meeting. She is the first female dolphin to spend time with me and introduce her baby.

Yesterday, when I got in the water she swam over to give a quick hello, then promptly went back to be with the baby. It has ben about a month since I have seen them, so I was really happy to see them again.

If it is the same momma, she had a baby in 2018 I call Indy in honor of the Indian River Lagoon. I named this one River. (Of course, these are not official names.)

This momma is a great parent and fisher-girl. She is very patient, and loving. The two of them are very affectionate with each other. They were in perfect synch the baby matching moms movements.

The only time they separated was for the brief moment when Momma went to grab a fish. She left River about 15 feet from me, playing a leaf for the few minutes while she went to grab a fish.

On the way back she showed off her fish then rejoined River for some playtime with the leaf.

Stay tuned for more tales!

Power of community

The sand was still wet and cool from the rain last night. The breeze was light with a calm ocean giving us a gentle sunrise. As the sun came up, it looked like pink heat waves

Pelican Highway traffic was heavy flying southbound before the sunrise. They lined up perfectly bringing the message of solidarity. They said, “As we energetically connect our feathers, we fly as one. The power of the group gives us power to fly further, companionship and safety. We encourage coming together to make the journey a little sweeter.”

The flock of seagulls flew in fast and furious agreeing with the pelicans saying, “We flock together because we know the power of community.”

As if on cue, as the sun came up they headed into the water for bath time. One little nugget looked right at me, melted my heart, and said, “Come with me, let the waves caress your feathers, together we can let go of the pain, supporting each other to make space for more joy.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Jump for joy!

Mother Nature brought us a gorgeous color show highlighting her pink and purple palette. The color show and soft light shimmering on the calm ocean was breathtaking. The breeze was light creating beautiful texture on the waves as they rolled in.

Loads of fish were jumping past the waves. As I was trying to capture the fish popping like popcorn I thought a dolphin would pop up but much to my surprise a shark jumped out of the water.

The shark brings the message again today.

She said, “I liked being the messenger so much yesterday I wanted to add to it. “Yes! Seize the moment and be spontaneous. Jump for joy, color outside the lines, dance and like no-one is watching. Go ahead and jump because it’s fun!”

And if that wasn’t enough, One Legger the Seagull is back from her travels!! I’d know her anywhere, she circles the flock like she is Amelia Earhart and a NASCAR driver all rolled into one.

She looks healthy and strong, and reminds time has no boundaries on relationships. Even though she’s been way for a few months, we picked up right where we left off.

Wishing you a happy day friends!

Seize the moment!

As I walked to the beach I could see the blue cone of light jetting high in the sky illuminating the sliver of a new moon. The breeze was refreshing with a slight hint of fall.

Before the sun came up several sharks were grabbing snacks in the shallows. One was a bit aggressive as he chased a fish in the waves.

The shark said, “Sometimes it’s necessary to show you are a powerful being and use your passion to seize the moment! Follow your heart and grab your dreams.”

He went on to say, “This new moon is accentuating our daily routine and priorities. Use the energy to get your ducks in a row, channel the best version of yourself and propel you forward toward your goals.”

The flock of seagulls came in looking beautiful as always. One was plucking out old feathers while taking a bath. She said, “I know it can be a little painful to pluck out those old feathers we no longer need, but when you let them go, you’ll feel lighter. Remember, you are making room for new feathers!”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Shake it Up

The breeze was blowing, the ocean was churning while dramatic clouds filled the sky. The energy was lively and invigorating. The almost new moon was high in the sky surrounded by a sweet and soft pink before sunrise.

Even though the current was very strong the flock of seagulls enjoy some much needed bath time, letting the water wash away the bugs. They were in the mood to be close and connect with eye contact. They said, “Eye contact is a great way to share yourself with others. It’s a way to exchange energy, love and information.”

After sunrise Skylar the osprey flew off her perch, cruised by and gave herself a really big shake. She said, “Dogs and birds know the power of a good shake. It moves built up stress and tension and as you can see gives everything a different perspective. It’s good to shake things up and see how things unfold.”

Wishing you a groovy day friends!

Savor the moment

Mother Nature brought us a very serene pretty in pink and lavender sunrise. The ocean was calm like a lake with the exception of perfect waves. The light stayed low and shimmery like a soft blanket resting on the water.

The beauty and light in the waves held me captive, I wanted to stay all day. Thank you to the lifeguard who hung out while I was playing in the waves. I appreciate the support and care.

With the stillness so palpable, when the birds started showing up their lively energy felt invigorating. The flock of seagulls and egrets came in to chat and grab breakfast.

Our message today comes from the egret, fish and the waves. They remind us of timing and savoring the moment. The waves frozen in time encourage us to slow down and soak up each moment and all it has to offer.

As the fish managed to get away from the egret she said, “Timing is everything, I waited for the right moment and made my escape. I trust my instincts to tell me when to seize the opportunity. You can trust yourself to know when to take action too!"

Wishing you a day filled with beautiful moments!

Your Attention energizes

Mother Nature brought us a cozy and romantic sunrise. It felt extra sweet and soft, like she was trying to offset the hard edges of life. As I walked to the beach I could feel then almost new moon coming in and out of the fluffy clouds. Just the edge of it was catching the light.

The almost new moon brings us one of our messages today. New moons are about fresh and new starts and a great time to manifest your hearts desire. This particular new moon encourages us to let go of anything holding us back. By letting go of the old we can have a greater sense of stability.

Hook the seagull and Skylar the resident osprey, flew in this morning to share a message of strength. They both have a wounded foot but continue to inspire me with their resilience. They said, “We bring the message of focusing on your strengths. You have multiple abilities, put your attention on those. Remember where your attention goes energizes those thoughts.

The seagull with his wings together said, “Not to worry about being perfect, out your feathers together and set the intention for you want. Your intention inspires while and attention energizes.”

Wishing you happy manifesting!

stretch past your comfort zone

Mother Nature was just showing off this morning using the Sahara Dust and clouds to give us a heart opening, romantic feeling kind of sunrise. The reflective pink and buttery golden color show literally took my breath away.

The breeze was slightly cooler with a hint of fall in it. Seagull Street was packed! They came flying in with several egrets with their wings open like they were ready for hugs. They bring the message of community. Flocking together for comfort, teamwork and love.

Hook the seagull and friends were very happy flying around like they were celebrating the cool weather. When Hook flew by he stretched his neck saying, “Go ahead, stretch a little past what you think you can do. Reach for your goal, you got this.”

And if that wasn’t enough a dragonfly buzzed past my ear saying, I bring the message of change, transformation and being adaptable.

Putting it all together, “Stretch past your comfort zone, adapting and and being open to transformation for success. Lean on your flock for support when it feels challenging.”

Have an amazing day friends!

teamwork creates more strength

It was a stunner of a sunrise starting with a magnificent pretty in a pink pre sunrise. The clouds looked like soft sweet ribbons flowing in the sky.

So many angels in the clouds! I saw 3 pair of huge pink angel wings before the sunrise a small angel person pulling the sun up through the clouds. The energy was amazing, expansive and full of love with a lovely breeze and warm air, truly a magical start to the day.

Pelican Highway and Seagull Street were packed. The flock of seagulls flew in hot and chatty! Pelican Highway was all lined up bringing us a message of the power of connection and teamwork. They said, “When we work together, our strength is tenfold. We know as we align and allow the current to carry us we can achieve even more.”

After sunrise I ran into Skylar the osprey and a little green heron. They both had the same message of letting go. I said, Really?! More poop? As the title green heron squatted down he said, “Yes, the message of letting go is an important one. Take a deep breath, exhale, drop your shoulders and let go of all you no longer need.”

Dot the osprey has been coming every sunrise and sunset for about 2 1/2 weeks. Each time we hang out, she is raising her tail feathers and letting go. She has a funny personality, like one of those friends who is always joking around.

Wishing you a beautiful day of connection!
