Your legs give you a solid foundation

Mother Nature used beautiful reflections on the wet sand to bring us a serene and expansive feeling sunrise. Several seagulls were already hanging out when I reached the beach. A few sandpipers and willets flew at mach speed.

We have a few messengers today, the seagulls and a black crowned night heron. The seagulls said, “Even in times of stress, we encourage spreading your wings and leading with your heart. Step into nature to refill your energy with sun and gain perspective.”

After sunrise I ran into a night heron at the pool. This was certainly odd so I stopped to see what he had to say. These cuties are usually out at dawn and dusk.

He said, ”When things seem tumultuous staying grounded is key. Herons have skinny legs so we know how important it is to stay centered especially in uncertain situations. Your legs with give you the foundation to stay solid.”

Wishing you a peaceful day friends!

Let go to feel better

The ocean was churning sending a thick layer of salt into the air. The color show before the sunrise was muted with just a subtle soft pink in the wispy clouds. Once the sun came up poking through a keyhole int he clouds a vibrant buttery golden color filled the sky.

A few seagulls were already at the edge of the ocean when I arrived but the majority of the flock flew in after the sunrise and stayed for bath time. I missed them a lot so I was happy they let me sit with them for a long time as they plucked off old feathers and had some joyful bath time.

The seagulls had a a lot to say but the majority them were serious about taking time for self care. They said, “I know we say this a lot but we find daily hygiene time is important to keep us from letting the bugs build up. We recommend letting go of the old so the new can come in. And bath time with friends makes it fun!”

Dot the osprey, rival of Skylar agreed with them. I ran into her after sunrise and again, she lifted her tail feathers and said, “Let go, it will make you feel better.”

After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Mother Nature brings us a message of rest, courtesy of another rainy sunrise. I was inspired to post a mixture of weather related photos to start the day.

The seagulls said, “Katie Perry’s song, Firework is the perfect message for today.” They went on to say, “The sun always finds a way to shine, eventually. Oh, and hugging a rainbow feels really good."

“After a hurricane comes a rainbowMaybe a reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it's time, you'll know.” ~ Katie Perry

The light always finds a way through

Mother Nature started out with a black and white sunrise bringing just a hint of pink high in sky in the wispy clouds. Despite little light and clouds, the moon found a way to shine bright.

The vibe of the morning was a mix of sultry and mystical with the gray clouds and golden light creeping through. At one point the sun was still veiled by the clouds but visible reminding us the light always finds a way through. Below the sun, it looked like a woman in a ball gown or an angel standing under the sun.

The flock of seagulls came in with their usual message, “Lean back, open your wings and heart, feel the love, it is everywhere.”

After sunrise I ran into a friend of Skylar the osprey. She had a boo boo on her left paw but seemed to be doing just fine. She was quite chatty saying, “Use your GPS to know when to let go of what you no longer need. The combination of trusting your intuition and letting go, creates a feeling of relief and lightness making it easier to keep flying.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Let go to rebuild

I was mesmerized by the moon this morning. It was high in the sky surrounded by cozy clouds as I walked to the beach. The clouds continued to hug the moon for a long while.

A small starfish was on the beach next to where I set my bag down. A sunriser ( A regular sunrise walker) came along and air lifted the sweet little nugget back to the ocean. The flock of seagulls and royal terns were already at our spot enjoying some much needed bug and feather removal.

The moon, clouds, royal tern and starfish all came to gather to bring us a powerful message today. The blue moon (August 22) was an energetic crescendo of the month which we can still feel. Full moons tend to illuminate emotions and ‘things hidden from us.’ If we set the intention to remove the clouds we can see clearly and even have epiphanies.

The royal tern digging deep to pull out old feathers encourages us to to go within and pull out anything we no longer need. The starfish chimed in saying,”I bring the message of using all your senses for regeneration. You see, the full moon illuminates the hidden so we can let go, then rebuild. Use your senses to feel your way through, trust your gut and intuition to navigate the waves. You got this.”

Wishing you groovy day friends!

Sharing is Caring

It was a moody blues meets fifty shades of grey with a splash of pretty in pink kind of sunrise. The ocean was like glass with silvery light sparkling on the surface. The waves were beautiful and perfectly formed. As they splashed up against me, I could feel any stress and tension leave my body.

Pelican Highway traffic was light, floating along the wave. The pelican said as he glided by, “I bring the message of floating thought emotions, letting them wash over like waves. Letting the waves pass creates balance and ease for flight.”

The flock of seagulls flew in for our usual connection time and savoring the sunrise together. A royal tern flew over head with a fish yelling. I think it’s quite a skill that they can yell while carrying a fish. It turns out he was announcing himself for his mate, who he flew next to and passed the fish. He said, “Sharing is caring. I like helping out my flock mates because generosity helps lift the mood of my friends”

Wishing you a day in the flow!

Blue moon and jupiter bring a hopeful vibe

The blue moon and Jupiter looked to be having a conversation as the moon was setting over the river. Jupiter brings expansive energy, good luck and adventure. With the two of them teaming up you might feel more hopeful.

This rare blue moon encourages us to embrace our uniqueness and share it with the others, collaborating for the greater good.

As I left the river and headed to the beach the soft swirly pastel colors filled the sky. I could see a wispy bird shape in the clouds. After a while the solo bird looked like 2 birds, one reaching over toward the other one. The energy was sweet and loving.

The flock of seagulls flew in after sunrise and brought with them Buddy the herring gull. Buddy just returned from his summer travels and was his usual self, full of attitude and gumption.

He is easy to spot because he loves to talk and walks toward the other gulls like he is the boss of all birds. He said, “I’m feeling the moon! Even though I have a unique personality, us birds know how to flock together for a common goal.”

Almost Blue Moon

We are having a Blue Moon this month on Sunday. Tonight the almost full moon came up just before the sunset. The huge waves and gorgeous light added to the magic of the evening.

As I was standing in the water an adorable family came to play. Their joy was infectious! My heart overflowed with happiness as I watched the kids play in the water with huge smiles.

I don't usually photograph people but I couldn't help myself, I had to snap the heart expanding play!

The mom gave me permission to post and share the joy with you. Thank you sweet family for sharing the joy!

Dive in the experience is worth it

It was a heart opening sunrise with a sweet and swirly color show. Even the waves were forming heart shapes in their splash.

The call to the ocean was loud because surfers filled the water before the sun came up. The waves were powerful and felt amazing as they rushed by. The waves frozen in time remind us to slow down and soak up the beauty, savoring each moment.

Hook, the seagull and her flock flew in hot, hearts and wings open ready to hug and grab a bath together. One of the gulls hung in place saying she agreed with the waves about hanging in the moment is really fun.

Pelican Highway joined in the fun enjoying a little surf time and feeding just past the waves. The pelican with his wings open and diving in said, “We encourage diving in, fully committed, trust even if you don’t catch a fish, the experience is with it.”

Wishing you a heart opening kind of day!

Finding your inner Peter pan

On my way to the beach, it was still dark when I met a large toad having a zen moment staring at a light. He seemed to be in a deep trance so I decided not to interrupt him with a kiss.

A thick and damp layer of fog hovering above the shore brought a peaceful stillness. The color show started out muted but when the sun came up the golden orange color show filled the sky.

As I stood in the waves waiting for the sunrise I was joined by a large stingray enjoying a massage from the waves.

The frog and stingray bring us a combo message. The frog reminds us to remember the magic of childhood when we could imagine a variety of mystical and creative adventures. He said, “I’m a reminder to be open to magic, good luck and fortune of all kinds.”

The frog and the stingray agree that sometimes blending in is important too. Trust you will know when to become a part of your environment and when to hop and glide forward. Your sensitivity is a great tool to know which way to go in the moment.

Wishing you a magical day friends!

Take another step forward

There was a moist layer of salty fog hanging over the beach giving the morning a cozy vibe. The air was still and warm as the flock of seagulls flew in showing off their beautiful reflections in the wet sand.

I said to them I was feeling the effects of the full (blue) moon coming this weekend. They said, “Come splash around in the the water with us, that will help you feel better.”

They were right, it totally shifted my mood. Like usual, they were flying around with their chest out and arms open saying, “Lead with your heart, your love and intuition will always guide in the right direction.”

One of the young seagulls took me under her wing and said, “I find it best to give myself a good stretch by spreading my wings then take another step forward. One step at a time is to reach your goal.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Gratitude for our scars

Rays of pink light jetted high into the sky as I walked to the beach. As my feet hit the soft sand my body relaxed instantly. The sound of the waves rolling in and the sea oats soaking up the pink light was breathtaking.

While waiting fo the sun, Hook the seagull flew in without the flock, circled a few times then landed to hang out. He's one of those birds who likes to engage, has a bold and strong personality.

He can fly circles around the flock and never seems to get tired so I took this opportunity to ask, “You inspire me, I wish I felt as strong as you, what’s your secret to being so perky and resilient?”

He said, “I take time each day for self care, pulling off the old feathers that weigh me down. As he hopped around on the wet sand, he went on, “I stay focused on my strengths. You see my hooked leg has given me the opportunity to become an even better flyer.

My leg reminds me I have lived and experienced life, isn’t that grand? When I feel sad or overwhelmed I switch to gratitude for my wings and my beautiful reflection.”

Hold onto your faith

What a magical morning! High in the sky as the sun was coming up to greet the day a tiny rainbow showed up in the soft fluffy clouds. As the sun broke free, the rainbow grew into a full half circle shining bright.

All the birds wanted to play in the joyful energy of the rainbow. Pelican Highway was high in the sky riding the rainbow ridge while the flock stayed low bringing us the message of opening our hearts to the magic, hope and beauty all around.

Rainbows are are universal, unifying us by speaking directly to our hearts with a message of hope. Rainbows ask us to hold on to our faith. They encourage us to celebrate the beauty that surrounds us while embracing fresh beginnings and the promise of abundance.

Hang In place for a better view

As I stepped on the beach I noticed the wind blowing pink cotton candy clouds along the horizon. The wind felt warm and refreshing on my skin. Mother Nature was making textured art with ripples in the tide pools and ridges in the sand.

The flock of seagulls flew in after the sun, hanging in place for a long while before heading to the tide pools for bath time. They said, “Rather than resisting the wind we use it to our advantage to hang in place with little effort. This way we can take our time to survey the area for snacks. Star Trek was right, "Resistance is futile."

I love bath time with the flock. Watching them duck their little heads in the water together in perfect synch, or the little smile they get when lift up and give themselves a good shake. They remind us about self care. They said, “Daily bathing keeps the bugs off and keeps our immune system strong. We also highly recommend bathing with friends! Splashing around in the water together is really fun which is also good for the immune system.”

Wishing you a squeaky clean kind of day.

Spread your wings and soak up the light

Thanks to tropical storm Fred we had huge and beautiful thunder clouds rumbling on the horizon. The clouds soaked up the rainbow of colors as the sun came up to greet the day.

The tide was low adding to drama by giving us powerful reflections on the wet sand.

Lot of people were walking the beach taking in the beauty. Sunrises and sunsets are truly a great unifier, bringing people together in appreciation of the wonder.

Egrets flew in to grab breakfast in the tide pools and bring us the message. Egrets remind us to stay grounded and in the moment ready for swift action.

Two of the egrets added to the usual message. One looked like he was going to put his wing around his friend and offer a hug reminding us to hug each other when we can. He went on to say, “When you spread your wings you can catch more light. The light can help your heart feel softer and easier and it shows off how beautiful you are.”

Wishing you a day soaking up the light.

Discomfort is Temporary

It was a cozy, pretty in pink start to the day. The sun stayed hidden for a long while behind the soft blanket of clouds. It eventually came out to shine bright and add more warmth to the moist breeze.

Can you believe it, we had 3 catfish trapped in the tide pool this morning. The sunrise crew helped sir lift them to the ocean.

In the process one of them swam out of the water and said, “You know that saying, "Feeling like a fish out of water? Well, it’s true, it’s uncomfortable and honestly a bit scary. The good news is the feeling was temporary as I found my back into my comfort zone in the water.”

2 skimmers flew in with the flock of seagulls. One was younger and it was obvious the older one was keeping an eye on him.

Skimmers have very cute personalities, they are shy and sweet, I’ve never seen them argue or snap at each other. My favorite part is when they talk, they sound like a dog barking.

The adult skimmer said, “I highly recommend falling deeper in love with your reflection. Go ahead, give yourself a big stretch so you can really see all your beauty.”

Acceptance, Patience and Action

WOW, It was a dramatic sunrise with amazing cloud art and wildlife drama. The huge fluffy clouds were soaking up a rainbow of colors as they gently floated along the horizon.

Tide pools attracted all kinds of birds to grab breakfast and enjoy some much needed bath time. A catfish was trapped in the tide pool and surrounded by curious egrets.

I watched for a long while, asking the catfish for our message. She said, “I know I’m in a bit of a pickle. I’ll need patience while I wait for the tide to come in, so I can return to the ocean.

Meanwhile, I’m accepting my situation. I’m using the time to rest when those pesky egrets are not following me. When those lanky birds get on my back, I empower myself to swim after them turning the tables! It’s fun to see the birds fleeing from me. For me it’s knowing when to take action and when to just be.”

A few sunrise walkers came along and offered the catfish a lift back to the ocean. She was grateful and appreciated the kindness.

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
