Create Inner safety
A pink and lavender glow filled the western sky, illuminating the moon, while to the east, the horizon glowed orange, patiently awaiting the rising sun.
The chatty flock flew in right on cue, ready for bath time, dancing around the sun as it rose. Pelican Highway traffic was heavy, heading southbound in smooth and steady formation.
The moon was especially bright as it made its way toward setting, with Jupiter shining nearby, gently amplifying the moon’s energy.
The Man in the Moon said, “Use this energy to turn inward.
Soften. Calm your nervous system. Create inner safety and peace through compassion and gentleness toward yourself. This is a powerful tool to help ride the waves of life.”

Trust the current
Can you see the heart? 🤍
Mother Nature brought us a much-needed calm and sweet sunrise today. The ocean was more like a lake — flat as a pancake — and a huge fluffy cloud drifted from west to east, changing shapes as it went. My favorite was the heart, soaking up soft pink hues along the way.
Last night, I received a text and a Facebook message saying my Shelley Lynch Photography page had been hacked. When I tried to log in and confirm my identity, the page disappeared. At the same time, my computer and cameras have been acting up — all of it giving me pause to reflect and reevaluate how I move forward.
I’ve had quite a few moments in my life where unexpected changes appeared out of the blue and gently (or not so gently) shifted my direction. This isn’t new for me. I know to remain calm and trust the current, even when I can’t yet see where it’s taking me.
I truly love the community we’ve built here and on Facebook and Instagram— connecting over beauty, love, and fun means more to me than I can say. I’ll work on reaching Facebook to resolve the issue, and I’m also using this time to go within for guidance and clarity.
For now, if you’d still like to follow the sunrises and stories from the lagoon, I’ll continue sharing everything on my blog.
Stay tuned as I navigate the ever-changing tide.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Tales from the Lagoon ~Episode - white Pelican Drama
Tales from the Lagoon ~Episode - Pelican Drama
I had the pleasure of meeting a few new dolphins today and spending quality time with Ocean who I met in 2018. More from Ocean later, the highlight was a white pelican chasing a brown pelican over a fish!
The brown pelican wasn't sure he wanted to eat the fish- spitting it out a few times- maybe because it's a catfish. The last photo shows the fish, maybe someone can tell me what kind of fish that is? Even though he spit it out a few times, he didn't want the white pelican to have it. The fish dance went on for 20 minutes before they flew to the other side of the lagoon where I think the white pelican finally I at the fish.

regulate the nervous system for a healthy new year
First light filled the sky with a molten amber glow and a quiet welcome to the new year. The sun rose slowly, offering a long kiss goodbye before lifting higher, bringing much-needed warmth.
The flock flew in briefly but didn’t linger. They were very skittish this morning, darting back out to the ocean together—most likely still on edge from last night’s fireworks.
They remind us that when we feel anxious, finding safety is essential to reset our nervous system. Taking small actions to find peaceful places, restore inner harmony, and regulate our nervous system is part of creating a healthy 2026.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Kiss goodbye
Gratitude for you &2025
Mother Nature closed out the year with a chilly, breathtaking sunrise. The waves churned, the wind carried salty spray through the air, and the flock arrived a little later than usual—ready, as always, for a good squeaky-clean reset. They said, “Self-care doesn’t stop just because it’s uncomfortable. It’s how we stay healthy, strong, and connected.”
As this year comes to a close, my heart is full of gratitude.Thank you to everyone who has shown up here—quietly or loudly—with kindness, encouragement, curiosity, and care. Thank you for sharing in these moments, these stories, and these connections with the animals who continue to teach me daily.
Thank you, 2025, for the lessons, the growth and healing.Thank you for the human connections, the animal encounters, and the simple magic found in standing still with nature.
As we step into 2026, my hope is to keep choosing presence, joy, and time outdoors—letting nature lead us back to what matters most.
With so much gratitude… thank you for being here.
My bird friend kept pushing my hat down. :). silly times to end the year.
Trust the rhythm of ease
Old Man Winter is back in Florida for a few days, bringing wind and cooler temperatures. Mother Nature used winter to create new heart expanding colors for Crayola.
The sun came up on the horizon with waves crashing all around. The warmth was instantly felt.
The flock was wild this morning. With gusts of wind, they darted off, then back again—only to dart off once more. Each time they moved in perfect sync, always tuned in, knowing exactly when to fly in unison without bumping into one another.
They remind us to stay tuned in, to trust the rhythm of the moment. When we move together instead of against the wind, there’s less effort, more grace, and a feeling of being held by something bigger than ourselves.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Alignment is under way
Good Morning! Ahhhhh… a picture-perfect morning with a calm ocean, soft golden tones, and just a touch of fog. The waves rolled toward shore in perfect form, quietly calling all the surfers to come play.
The flock was already busy getting squeaky clean, resting on the glassy sand, and squabbling just a bit.
Pelican Highway took full advantage of the energy gliding effortlessly down the beach on perfectly timed waves. A theme of alignment stood out with pelicans in formation and a surfer passing directly beneath the rising sun.
They said, “Use your heart to follow the flow. Things line up naturally. Alignment is already underway. Not to worry if you feel like you are waiting a long time for the next wave, the lull is just as important as the ride.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Play to reset your nervous system
As my feet hit the sand, the quiet was palpable, courtesy of a soft, fluffy cloud cover and a calm ocean. Mother Nature used every shade of pink, creating a soothing masterpiece. The clouds felt like a cozy blanket wrapped around the morning.
When the sun appeared, it glowed in pink and yellow hues, as if someone briefly turned on the lights—bringing a moment of brightness before it slipped back behind the clouds.
Just as the sun rose, a frolicking pod of dolphins swam by, heading south. They said,“ Remember the power of fun and play. It boosts your serotonin and gently shifts your mood. Just like kids, adults who play give their nervous systems permission to rest, reset, and smile.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode~ Wild Sunset!
Momma, a dolphin I first met at the end of 2017, swam into the lagoon with her newest baby, Laguna. Laguna is her third calf I’ve had the joy of meeting—Indy and River being the other two.
Laguna played happily while Momma grabbed dinner in the shallows. Nearby, a mature pelican got squeaky clean for date night.
And across the river, on the far shore, the cownose rays put on quite a show—launching themselves out of the water and smacking back down with an audible thud. They were at least a football field away, so capturing them at all felt like pure luck and excitement!

Open to the unseen
Mother Nature brought us a foggy, cloudy, and wet-feeling kind of sunrise. The color show began almost grey and white, with only a sliver of pink, before shifting into what felt like every color in the crayon box as the sun rose.
The flock was front and center, ready for bath time and connection, while surfers headed out to catch the perfectly formed waves.
For a few brief minutes, just as the sun was halfway visible before disappearing behind the cloud wall, shapes of people appeared to walk across the horizon. They bring the message of being open to the unseen. You are not walking alone. Stay open. Invite connection. Notice the signs. Trust your senses, you may feel it without seeing it.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
The video starts with a young gull on my head who can be aggressive so I asked him to leave, making room for Fred my dance partner and who is gentle.
Alignment is underway
As my feet hit the sand, I took in the soft pink sky and calm ocean when suddenly the birds went into a frenzy around a fisherman. Then I saw why—a gull was tangled in fishing line. The good news: the bird was freed. However, the grumpy fisherman....might need a visit from 3 ghosts.
The flock continued zooming back and forth, frenetic and on edge, until the sun finally lifted above the horizon. Slowly, the energy shifted. Everyone seemed to calm down, feel safe again, and shake off the stress.
Once fully up, the color show was spectacular—rich, warm, and layered with depth. Surfers arrived from every direction, catching waves as Pelican Highway formed effortlessly. The pelicans lined up one by one, using the swells to glide down the beach with ease.
They bring the message today, “Not to worry. People, places, and things are lining up. Sometimes it’s happening behind the scenes, so you can’t see it yet. Rest assured—alignment is underway.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Self care to stay strong during holiday season
Mother Nature brought us a calm, soothing sunrise—soft light, gentle air, and perfect waves rolling toward shore, quietly calling every surfer to come play.
The sun teed up like a golf ball bringing warmth and golden glow.
The chatty flock flew in early, eager for bath time and connection.
They said,“ Caring for yourself isn’t extra, it’s essential. Just like we wash the salt and bugs away, tending to your own well-being helps you stay strong, grounded, and resilient, especially during the holiday season.”

Mikey, a great egret walked me home last night. He used to be around a lot, especially when Pip the Pelican was around.
I hadn’t seen him in quite some time—until a few days ago. In the past few days, he seems to be everywhere I go, quietly tagging along like a feathery bodyguard.
Spot the egret (not a great egret, though he’s quite sure he is great) is less than thrilled about this new development. There’s definitely some side-eye happening in the Lagoon.

Support is strategy
The morning started out almost black and white with a salty layer of fog enveloping the shoreline. As the sun rose, buttery bronze and gold spilled across the sky, ocean, and wet sand, filling everything with a heart-expanding glow.
The ocean churned creating sparkles as the waves splashed toward shore. When I turned around, a gull perched on my tripod was quite chatty.
She said, "Finding support isn’t a shortcut it’s strategy. Support is all around, you may have to think outside the box to see it. I highly recommend using the resources around you, rest when you need to and save your energy for what truly matters.”

Seeing life through the eyes of another
Good Morning! A gentle layer of salty fog draped the shoreline like a cozy blanket while fluffy clouds soaked up the soft, pastel hues of the pre-sunrise sky.
The chatty flock was already gathered at the ocean’s edge when I arrived. The sun rose from behind a small cloud, sending golden rays spilling across the water as the day slowly awakened.
The flock was especially engaging this morning. Sitting low with them, at eye level, shifted everything.
They said, “We find it helpful to see life through the perspective of another. Seeing life through the eyes of another brings clarity and understanding. It doesn’t mean you must abandon your own perspective, it simply widens the view.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Balance on the planet
The sunrise started with a single pink ray of light streaming into the blue sky. With a light layer of fog, stillness was palpable—until the flock flew in, large and loud.
Like a light switch, the morning came to life, people walking the beach, the flock chatting it up, and the sun shining brightly.
Today, the Earth pauses and pivots.
Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we honor the Winter Solstice, a time of rest, reflection, and quiet renewal. Across the globe, the Summer Solstice celebrates fullness, light, and outward expression.
Same planet. Same sun. Different experiences. Both are sacred. Both are necessary.

Be the peace you want to see in the world
Mother Nature brought us a crisp, winter-kissed sunrise—beginning with a clear sky and soft pink light blooming like a lotus on the horizon. The flock was large and chatty, darting off and returning without notice, full of life and motion.
The usual cast of characters arrived right on cue, ready for bathtime as the sun rose higher. The ocean sparkled with golden light as the waves rolled gently toward shore.
A beautiful dove brings us the message this morning. She said, “Be the peace you want to see in the world. Go within. Take a quiet moment to deepen your connection with yourself. From there, balance and inner peace naturally unfold.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Make tiny adjustments to stay balanced
The morning started with baby-blue clouds, brushed with a hint of pretty pink in the background. The flock flew in later than usual, but just as loud — ready to connect. One Legger, Hook, Peg, Pixar, and of course Fred were all there.
As the sun came up, the birds gathered, soaking up the warmth. Wet sand mirrored the beauty of the sky, creating an all-immersive, heart-opening moment.
One Legger struck a fancy Tree Pose and said, “Balance isn’t about standing perfectly still, it’s about making tiny adjustments so you don’t topple over.”
On the way off the beach, I ran into a snail moving along at a pretty good pace when it suddenly made a U-turn. I wasn’t sure why until I noticed a small worm heading straight toward the snail. Even the tiniest creatures experience traffic jams. Using her antennae, the snail stayed aware, made a simple change to go with the flow.
