Stay open to messages
The flock was out in full force, gulls, ruddy turnstones, and sandpipers stretching as far as I could see in both directions. The little ones scurried about looking for breakfast while the laughing gulls took their time with bath rituals, splashing, shaking, and soaking in the glow.
After sunrise, I ran into a blue jay perched in a tree, with a squirrel proudly standing just below, both ready to chat.
The blue jay leaned in and said, “I am here to remind you of the power of your voice and your communication. Like me, you are a receiver. Stay open to messages coming to you, trust your intuition.”
The squirrel, standing tall in all his glory added, “YES! Embrace you. Embrace your gifts and all you have to offer.” Click on the photos under squirrel to see his advice if you feel vulnerable being naked.

The smallest touch can create a shift
A cool, moist breeze greeted us today, making the morning feel fresh and alive. The sun played peek-a-boo behind a cloud on its way up, before filling the sky with a buttery gold glow.
The flock was already waiting at the ocean’s edge when I arrived One gull gave himself a good shake saying, “Movement of any kind helps release what doesn’t belong — the bugs, the stress, even old feathers we no longer need. Shake out the heaviness. Let your energy breathe again.”
I’ve been photographing the flock since 2018. Last year, a gull landed on my head two or three times — a rare treat. This year it’s almost daily, reminding us trust may take time. When the little feet touch my head I can feel my whole body relax.
Despite their little size their energy is surprisingly powerful. a reminder that even the smallest touch can shift our energy and open our hearts.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Resourceful to be balanced
Ahhhhh, with minimal wind and a calm ocean, the sunrise was peaceful and beautiful. The color palate was a soft pink, golden and orange with just a few fluffy clouds.
A flock of gulls flew in close by while another flock stayed about a half mile to the south. Despite being separated they seemed to be connected. Even with distance between them, they moved as one. When the northern flock took off with the zoomies, the southern flock lifted too, like a joyful wave rolling down a stadium.
They remind us that we are always connected — even when space or life stretches between us. After sunrise I ran into a squirrel mom who said, “Don’t hoard your nuts. I’m a reminder to be resourceful as a way to find balance with work and play."
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Slowing it down to connect
Good Morning! It was a stunning morning — a whisper of wind, a calm ocean, and a big beautiful sun rising bringing us warmth.
The flock arrived early, wings and hearts wide open, glowing in that golden orange light of pre dawn. Their chatter filled the air. a loud chorus celebrating a brand-new day. Out on the water, Pelican Highway was busy in both directions, riding the waves with ease and grace.
One laughing gull hovered in close, pausing right in front of me sharing the message of the day. He said, "When your heart and wings are open you can inner beauty shines effortlessly. Slow down to connect and share this beauty with others."
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Spot the Egret Greeting

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Reminiscing About Baby Sarafina
If you’re just tuning in, Momma Sarabi recently swam into the lagoon with her newest little one, Sarafina, at the end of May this year. This is her third baby I’ve had the privilege to meet since 2019. What a honor to witness her growing family over the years.
I’m taking a little trip down memory lane to when baby Sarafina was tiny. These photos were never posted because Sarabi and Sarafina gave me so many photo opportunities.
If you want to see more, they have their very own gallery on my website. https://www.shelleylynchphotos.com/baby-sarafina

You are resilient! You got this!
Good Morning! A windy and chilly start to the day brought us a beautiful landscape. The crisp air, clouds and wind teamed up to usher in a heart opening sunrise.
The chatty flock flew in hot, banking sideways as they slammed on the brakes landing for our bath time together.
Wind blowing the opes of thew waves send sparkles of water in the air looking like diamonds dancing in the sky.
A Cooper’s hawk landed on the rook near the beach bringing us the message today. She said, “I am here to encourage you to listen to your instincts. You are resilient and able to overcome obstacles with your courage. Trust your decision making and be ready to take action when you feel inspired.”

Be the lighthouse
With cooler temperatures, the morning was crisp and windy. Before the sun even touched the horizon, the lighthouse cast its glow across the sky.
The flock arrived early, chatty and ready for bath time — wings open, hearts open, connecting as always.
This morning, the lighthouse bring us the message.
“Be a lighthouse. When the world feels heavy or uncertain, when you aren't sure what to do, shine anyway. A lighthouse doesn’t calm the sea or stop the storm. It simply holds steady and offers light so others can find their way.”
“Not all lighthouses look the same, and neither do we. Each one is significant, shining in its own way, its own strength. Just like the lighthouse, your light matters. Be a beacon."

Soak up sunlight to shift your mood
Mother Nature used every crayon in the box this morning—then mixed a few together to create brand new colors. The sky began in deep navy blue before being kissed by streaks of rose, gold, and amber.
By the time I reached the ocean’s edge, the flock was already there, extra frisky in the slightly cooler air. You could feel the energy—playful, alive, and full of possibility.
When the sun finally rose, it melted those colors together into a sultry pink-golden glow, warming the morning and lighting up every wave.
The gulls, wings and hearts wide open said, “We highly recommend soaking up a little sunlight today to shift your mood. Just a few minutes outside can lift your spirit, boost your serotonin and your immune system.”
Wishing you a beautiful day, friends!

Listening to your inner voice is your superpower
Good Morning! The wind was strong today as we await rain and cooler weather blowing in from the north. The pre-dawn sky wore a deep lavender glow before shifting to a gorgeous pink canvas that greeted the rising sun.
The flock was huge this morning—darting off and back again with a whooooosh! In the middle of all the movement, One Legger hovered calmly, leg tucked up as he navigated the gusts like a pro.
He said, “I use the wind beneath my wings to hang in place. I know when to push forward, when to hold still, and when to protect myself. Strength is listening to your inner voice—it always knows what you need.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Healing is happening
Wow! The wind was whipping again today, giving the flock the zoomies against an incredible light show. The sunrise began soft and sweet, but quickly transformed as golden light flowed from beneath the clouds while pink streams of light poured out the top like a fountain of love from the sky.
Eventually the golden show took over the sky filling the air with heart expansive beauty.
BPX, a laughing gull who showed up last year with hospital bands is back this year and looking good. Pixar the laughing gull hung in place above giving us a new perspective of his leg.
Both birds said, “Life can be bumpy, sometimes we need support, other times we are overcoming obstacles one day at a time. We recommend soaking up the sunshine and being patient with yourself. Healing is happening even if you can see it.”

Shift your perspective to reveal new insight
Ahhhh, the sunrise was for the birds this morning—literally! Hundreds of gulls filled the sky, some migrating through, others the familiar daily crew.
The pre-dawn sky glowed with a bronze and pink palette, while the wind whipped across the ocean, giving the flock a lively case of the zoomies.
As a group of gulls hovered above, their wings open and steady in the wind, they shared this message. “We bring the reminder to look at life from a different perspective. When things feel stuck or confusing, rise above it. Shift your angle. A new view can reveal what you couldn’t see before. There are always more possibilities, keep your mind open.”

Walking on sunshine
Speak the truth with kindness
Ahhhhhh, the morning was soft and peaceful with a gentle breeze and calm ocean. The world felt quiet, like it was still waking up. But once the flock flew in, that peaceful hush turned into a lively chatter with joyful voices greeting the day.
The sun rose from behind a thin cloud, sending out warm rays of golden light that wrapped around us like a hug. The flock danced around the sun as if celebrating another beautiful sunrise gifted to us by Mother Nature.
On my walk back across the boardwalk, I met someone new, a Catbird. My very first Catbird. She perched with a serious look, leaning in as if she had a very important message.
She said, “Catbirds are communicators. We teach the power of voice. Choose words that carry truth, but season them with kindness, for yourself and for others.”

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode: Nesting, Snacks & Playtime
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode: Nesting, Snacks & Playtime
Skylar, our resident osprey, was busy today—like mama-on-a-mission busy. She spent the morning searching for long sticks and hauling them one by one back to her pole. I’ve known Skylar since 2018 and I’ve never seen her nest-building before.
Over the last two weeks, several new ospreys and even a few bald eagles have flown in for the winter season. This means Skylar has been doing a LOT of screaming lately. Every time another bird of prey dares to enter her airspace, she lets them know loud and clear, “Get off my lawn! This is MY territory!”
Normally she would chase them off with a dramatic aerial show, but today she had more important things to do—nest first, drama later.
Meanwhile, Charley and M stopped by, Whisper and Ocean cruised through, and Cliff arrived with two friends. They grabbed lunch, played with mangrove seeds, and enjoyed some relaxed hang time—just another beautiful day in the lagoon.

Got bugs?
Mother Nature used fog to paint a dark and sultry sunrise today. First light slipped in gently with purple and red tones before the fog rolled in, wrapping the shoreline in a salty, mysterious blanket. When the sun finally rose, half-hidden behind the horizon, it felt like we had been transported to another world: quiet, moody, and beautiful.
The flock flew in chatty as usual, ready for our daily connection time. One of the laughing gulls sauntered over to say hello. I noticed a few little bugs below his beak and asked him about them.
He said, “I don’t feel like getting squeaky clean today. When we’re tired or not feeling our best, we sometimes avoid self-care, even when we know it will help us. I’m here to remind you—those are the days it matters most.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Your heart is your beauty
45 minutes before sunrise, pink rays of light streamed into the sky and wrapped around Venus like a cosmic embrace. The chatty flock flew in, wings and hearts open, ready for our daily bath time.
When the sun finally rose from behind the cloud on the horizon, it looked like a light volcano — white light bursting from the top and spilling into the morning.
After sunrise, a solo pelican flew in to hang out. With his wings stretched wide he said, “Look how beautiful I am with my wings and heart wide open. Showing off your heart is the secret to being beautiful."
"And if you don’t feel like spreading your wings just yet, that’s okay — give yourself a little shake, reset your energy, and soon you’ll be ready to lift up, open and feeling free.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
