Tales from the lagoon ~ Episode - Snacking with Friends
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Danika, Friends and Pelicans Come to Play!
The dolphin I call Danika and other dolphin friends came to play, grab snacks and tease the pelicans.
It’s the time of year when the pelicans join in the shenanigans. The pelicans hang out waiting for the dolphins to chase fish, then they swoop in and do their best to catch the fleeing fish. As you can see the pelicans scored some good snacks courtesy of the dolphin stirring up the snacks.
The dolphins enjoy swimming under the pelicans giving them a little bump or splash and they include playing with the cormorants and mergansers too.
Stay tuned for more tales!
What?! Too big, nah, he got it down in one gulp!

Go the distance
Mother Nature brought us a cozy sunrise with a light breeze and soft layer of fog. The flock of seagulls flew in before the sun came up. We enjoyed a really fun bath time with lots of splashing and playing.
Clouds hugged the sun as it came up in a pink haze that quickly turned to a golden ball of beaming heat.
After the sunrise in the river I spent time with Jewel the cormorant and her friends, a couple dolphin and a few pelicans. Jewel is both gorgeous and an amazing athlete. She brings us the message today of diving deep to catch what our heart desires.
She said, “I am a fierce bird who goes after what I want. I commit to my goal and trust my skills to go the distance and grab my fish. I’m here to encourage embracing unwavering faith in yourself as you dive into the unknown. Whether you catch your fish or not, you are supported and loved. Stay the course, you got this.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Love the one you are with
Spring is in the air with warmer temperatures and a pastel color palette. A light layer of fog and soft breeze gave us a sweet feeing to start the day. A fluffy cloud looking like a puppy dog floated by just above the sun as it came up. It looked like Super dog was flying over the sun to warm his belly.
One Legger and a small flock of seagulls flew in before the sunrise with a few ruddy turnstones and sandpipers. One Legger stopped mid air to say hello and sow off her strength.
Rootie Tootie, a ruddy turnstone brought us a love message, saying, “Love the one you are with. I am the reminder to fall deeper in love with yourself, even the parts we may not like so much.”
Penny the pelican was a a little further down the beach taking in the sunrise. She said, “A moment of quiet is a great way to reboot my nervous system. Time away from Pelican Highway gives me time to let go of stress and just be, enjoying the beauty all around.”
Wishing you a beautiful day!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- So many friends!
I often get asked if if I get bored hanging out waiting for the dolphins to visit. I never do because there is always someone to hang out. Especially this time of year when we have so many wildlife visitors.
These are just a few of the characters, there are blue herons, bald eagles, osprey, and even a few loons right now.
Stay tuned for more tales, including more from Danika the dolphin and friends!

Let your soul be nourished
It was a peachy sunrise with a sweet pink and orange color show. As the sun came up, it looked like it was overlooking a mountain range. The warmth and light filled the air, accenting the fog looming over the shoreline.
A small flock of seagulls flew in for for bath time. One of them under my feet said, “I highly recommend slowing it down to take in all the textures of the moment. You’ll find you feel lighter and able to lift up with ease.”
After sunrise the osprey who hanging on the boat mast flew by at eye level. For a split second I could see the sunrise in her eye. She said, “I’m here to remind you to step into your power. Sure change can be daunting and you may feel out of your comfort zone, not to worry, you are never given more than you can handle.” Keep your focus on your heart’s desire and allow what nourishes your soul to fill you.”
The dolphin heading toward the lighthouse reminds us to be the lighthouse for others. Especially when others feel uncertain, shine your light, spreading hope, support and love.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Focus on your strengths
I had to be away from the sunrise today but yesterday I had a special connection with Peg the seagull. I’ve known Peg since 2019 when she was named by a sunrise friend. Yesterday for the first time she landed near me and walked over to chat.
She is quite an athlete able to fly circles around some of her flock mates. As you can see by her eyes she is a sweet Being. She said, “I bring the message of focusing on our strengths. You see, the bird world, like life can have ups and downs. I keep my focus on what I do best then I feel better and more confident.”
Pelican Highway traffic is starting to pick up. They bring the message of using the energy of flow to carry you through the day. “Relax, let go of the outcome and enjoy riding the sweet spot of flow.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Probing within to find the answers
What a lovely sunrise we had today with sweet colors, a calm ocean, light breeze, dolphins feeding and loads of birds! The energy vibrant, so full of life with birds flitting here and there. Bath time with the flock was full of sweet connections and love.
Dolphins grabbed snacks just passed the waves that were rolling in 2 and 3 at a time. The dolphins encourage us to play more. They said, “Go ahead turn mundane tasks into playtime. Enjoy dancing while folding the laundry or singing while making dinner.”
A flock of American Oyster Catchers flew by as the sun was coming up for the third day in a row. They eat mollusks and crabs, using their strong, long beak to break them open.
They also use this amazing tool to probe the mud to find food reminding us to dig deep to find the answer. They said, “Sometimes we can hide the answer from ourselves in our muddy confusion, a little probing can help find the answer we seek.”
Tiger the Heermann’s gull flew in front of the sun showing off his beautiful colors encouraging us to come into the light and show off our uniqueness.
Wishing you a groovy day friends!

Flexibility is a key to success
It was a chilly and peachy sunrise. The waves were churning towards the shore tossing up a salty spray. With a very high tide, most of the beach was under water. A small flock of seagulls flew in hot, slamming on the brakes in front of the sun. We were all very happy to see the big ball of light come up bringing us warmth.
With a strong current bath time was super fun as we floated in and out with the waves. It brings me a lot of joy to see the sunrise through their eyes while they get squeaky clean.
The message today comes from the seagulls and the pelicans, as they slammed on their brakes changing directions on a dime they said, “We know to be successful it helps to be flexible. As we survey from above we are always ready to change direction, slam on the brakes or dive in. Being present in the moment is our super power so we know which way to go.”
When the pelicans took a break from grabbing snacks they landed on the dock nearby looking like Charlies Angels. They said, “Rest is part of being flexible, knowing when to take a time out and when to get back in the action.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
What is meant for you will never pass you by
Weeeeeeeee! The wind was whipping and the ocean was churning this morning. The color show was definitely fifty shades of grey to start but then a sliver and a dash of peachy pink showed up, raising the vibe to a more joyful feeling.
As I walked on the beach a seagull walked out of the dunes dragging his little wing asking for a lift to the rehab center.
The seagull said, “Sometimes you just gotta ask for help. The neat thing about asking for help is the person helping gets to feel useful. In a time when it’s easy to feel powerless, this is a great way to spread ripples of love and compassion.”
Thank you Justin Becotte for the virtual assist! The bird is getting help thanks to your guidance. I appreciate the teamwork!
Under the docks, a sweet turtle came up for a breath saying, “I bring the message of slow, steady and balance is the way to reach your goal. Not to worry, what is meant for you will never pass you by. Relax and trust your journey.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Stay focused and do my best
Mother Nature brought us a lovely pastel sunrise with a huge wall of clouds adding to the cozy feeling. The mix of colors and sunrise was breathtaking.
The sun came up for a few minutes before disappearing behind the clouds. One Legger, the seagull led the flock as they flew in for bath time.
After sunrise I ran into an osprey who enjoys the view from the top of a sailboat mast. She said,”I bring the message of taking time to get a broader perspective."
"From up here I can the big picture then I wait for the right moment to take action. Remember you can trust your inner GPS to know when to take action and when to stay put.”
“I know sometimes life can feel overwhelming, it’s like when I dive deep and grab a fish, coming up out of the water can be a struggle. What I know is, I stay focused, do my best, let things unfold.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Align with your heart’s desire
The almost new moon was bright in the lavender sky as I walked to the beach. The new moon is still a few days away but the energy can be felt now. New moons bring us fresh starts, and beginnings.
This morning, both Venus and Mars are close to the new moon which encourages us to follow our heart’s desire. They ask us to open to new love, new abundance, new desires and renewed vitality. This particular moon asks us to ensure we are lined up with our best self moving forward, reminding us to be compassionate with ourselves and others.
The flock of seagulls had bath time in the surf, letting the waves carry them in then back out. With warm air and a clam ocean it felt like a lovely spa day.
After the sunrise I ran into a pelican and Mikey the great egret. The pelican brings the message of downtime. She said,”Enjoy a little guilt free quiet time. You see, quiet time helps to integrate life lessons and reboot our system so we ready to go with more energy.”
Mikey had his mating plumage on and was looking very handsome, don’t you think? He said, “Go ahead put on your dancing shoes, your fancy pants and show off your beauty, even if it is just around your house.”
Wishing you a groovy day day friends!

Leap forward with full transparency
Ahhhh, a soft pretty in pink sunrise. Dolphins swam in the distance before the sunrise, enjoying the calm ocean. Perfect waves rolled toward the shore soaking up the sweet color.
A light layer of fog rolled in as the sun came up then dissipated adding to the cozy vibe.
The sun came up snuggled in a tuft of clouds looking like a golf ball head up, ready to go.
The flock came in for bath time and were really loud as they all talked at the same time. One of them brings the message of getting a running start. She said,”It’s fun to just go for it with a running start. The momentum helps push me forward.”
After sunrise I ran into Penny the pelican who brings the message of leaping forward with full transparency. She said, “I find it helps to be open and ready for action at any time. You see, the more present I am in the moment, the easier it is to spring into action when the time is right. Letting myself be seen isn’t always easy but I know transparency is better than hiding in the end.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Running start
Be the peace you want to see in the world
The fog was even heavier this morning bringing us an almost black and white sunrise with a dash of golden and pink. The ocean was calm for the first time in weeks adding to the serenity of the morning.
It was a heart centered sunrise starting with a visit from a pelican. He flew in as I arrived to the waters edge. He grabbed a fish then became very still, looking at the ocean.
He said, “I bring the message of taking moments of stillness to calm the mind and nervous system. Those zen moments help boost your immune system and really can impact those around you. I highly recommend being the peace you want to see in the world.”
After the pelican left, the flock of seagulls along with Tiger the Heermann’s gull flew in with wings and heart wide open ready for love. We spent lots of time together hanging out enjoying each others company.
On the way off the beach I had a long chat with a very sweet squirrel. She was spread out on the tree with the sunrise reflecting in her eyes. She put her little paw to her heart and said, “Stay open, even when you feel scared let your heart be open. I get it, I run when I get scared too, but I also know the power standing still and being love. Oh, and don’t hoard your nuts!”
Wishing you a day filled with love!
Wide open and ready
Zen moment….Be the peace you want to see in the world
Hand to my heart remembering o stay open
Step back and wait for clarity, it always comes
A thick blanket of fog covered everything as I walked to the beach. The moist air was cool and refreshing feeling healing in my lungs.
The sunrise was difficult to see at first, bringing us the theme of clarity for the message. The sun and moon got together to remind us when we feel things are fuzzy or dark, wait for the haze to fade, not to worry, clarity always comes.
The flock of seagulls flew in hot and loud. They came at mach speed slamming on the brakes with wings and hearts open reminding us to stay up to let the light pour in. Tiger the Heermann’s gull was in the flock this morning too!
As he flew in circles he passed a beach walker bringing us more about clarity. He said, “Sometimes our perspective can be distorted making things look and feel larger than they are. Relax, step back and wait for clarity before moving forward.”
Wishing you a day of clarity!
Open wings and heart letting the light pour in

I love you
You have the tools and skills to take action
Ahhhh another cozy foggy sunrise brought to you by Mother Nature. The sun was hugged by the fog as it came up surrounded by a subtle pink hue. The flock of seagulls appeared through the fog looking like little dots.
As they approached I saw Tiger the Heermann’s gull from California with them. He stayed with the flock for a while then joined me in the river with the dolphins and pelicans for snacks.
After sunrise, Danika the dolphin came in close and fast to grab snacks. She stayed for an hour to connect with her pod mates, relax and have breakfast. She brings the message of friendship and trust, reminding us to hold a safe place for our loved ones.
A stingray also hung out this morning. She said, “I’m here to let you know everything is in place, you have the tools and skills to take action."
"No need to hesitate, and remember the wisdom of the pelican, sometimes you have a dive a few times before grabbing your goal. Have faith in your abilities and follow your inner guidance. Stay the course my friends, you got this!”
Wishing you a groovy day!

Harmonious relationships
Another lovely day here in paradise with more fog bringing us a cozy start the day. A golden orange color filled every nook and cranny in the sky.
The flock of seagulls was huge and boisterous as they flew in for bath time. We enjoyed getting squeaky clean as the sun came up above the churning ocean.
AS I was photographing the sun, I thought about the date being 2.22.2022. The number 2 symbolizes the energy of duality, partnership, relationship and balance. With all those 2’s, we are encouraged to find compromise, compassion, and harmony.
The wildlife agree and showed off their harmonious partnerships. A few pelicans flew in super close to grab snacks together along with a solo seagull friend. They were all working together to stir up breakfast.
Despite the seagull bugging one of the pelicans, he didn’t lose his temper, staying in the mode of compromise by sharing his space.
Wishing you a harmonious and balanced day!

Tales from the Lagoon~ Episode- Sunset hanging with friends
Tales from the Lagoon~ Episode- Sunset Hanging with Friends
We had a sweet sunset with Danika, Whisper, Charlie and a mom and her youngin' who all came to connect and hang out as the sun went down. A few pelicans joined in hoping the dolphins would stir up dinner.
The dolphins were pretty relaxed, with just a few fish chases and a short frisky playtime, they were just enjoyed hanging out. After the sun was gone and the light was low, the little one popped out of the water to end a perfect day.
At one point I felt something in the sky and snapped a few photos of a cloud, check out the last photo and let me know if you see anything.
Sweet dreams friends!
FYI….The sunrise for 2.21.22 is before this post.
Open hearted to get the most our of life
A heavy layer of salty fog filled the air giving us a cozy start to the day. The ocean churned as the sun came up to bring us warmth and burn through the fog. At first the sun looked squished by the fog but it eventually filled out into a giant golden light ball.
The sun brings us the message of shining bright to burn through the fog. Fog is just temporary, dissipating with the warmth of sunlight. The flock of seagulls were their usual sweet selves, wings and hearts open, walking on sunshine.
They said, ‘Us birds have quite a bit of trauma, despite the broken legs and missing limbs we know keeping our hearts open is the best way to get the most out of life.”
After sunrise, the pelicans were having a grand time at the breakfast buffet while a pod of dolphins were enjoying a little relaxing and affection in the calm water. They remind us to take time for affection, and sweet connections.
Wishing you a sweet day friends!
Sweet affection
Coming in for a hug
Digging deep, stay the course
Sweet fluffy clouds were floating along the horizon soaking up the colors as I reached the beach. The wind and ocean brought us a vibe of vitality.
The flock of seagulls arrived at their usual time, showing off their cute personalities in front of the moon. They encourage us to look at life from a different perspective to gain new insights and awareness.
As the sun came up light ray jetted through the clouds looking like a hand before it burst in a golden ball of light bringing us warmth.
After sunrise, while in the river a cormorant and an ibis were hanging out. In my experience they are both shy making it quite a special morning to connect with these 2 feathered friends.
The Ibis encourages us to dig deep. She said, “Not everything we need to know is on the surface, sometimes going deep is the best way to see more clearly.”
The cormorant is a versatile bird, able to fly and dive deep, holding its breath for up to a minute. Some fishermen consider seeing a cormorant good luck. They are clever and focused birds, knowing what they want and diving for it with determination. He said, ”I’m here to remind you to stay the course, keep your focus on your hearts desire.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
