Manatee Snuggles

These are not from today……we are having a rainy, overcast start to the day. I thought snuggle photos would be a nice way to start the day. All these photos are from an August day when the manatees were mating in the ocean close to shore.

Wishing you a snuggly kind of day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode~ Sunshine, White Pelicans, and Dolphins

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode~ Sunshine, White Pelicans, and Dolphins.

The moon is pulling hard on the tides, making the water so low I could walk most of the way to the island across the river from where I usually photograph the dolphins. That’s where I noticed baby sharks warming themselves in the shallows.

They soaked up the sunshine, resting and conserving energy. A handful of brown pelicans shared the scene, also enjoying the warmth and stillness.

Nearby, Jagger, Uncle Larry, Ocean, and Whisper—four male dolphins—were swimming leisurely alongside a mom and her calf, all moving together nice and relaxed.

Stay tuned for more tales.

Love yourself, let go and allow the new to emerge

Good morning! With temperatures warming up and a light breeze in the air, the morning sunrise felt especially soothing. The various birds were busy grabbing breakfast and enjoying bath time along the shore.

A calm ocean sent perfect waves rolling in, soaking up the gorgeous golden light from the rising sun.

We had a few messengers this morning. I was surprised to spot a rabbit in the dunes on the walk to the beach, along with a laughing gull pausing to look at his reflection and Spot the egret pointing toward the full moon.

Together, the messengers spoke as one. The laughing gull reminded us to see our reflection with love and compassion. This is a super power right now to navigate the chaos. Spot the egret pointed to the lingering energy of the full moon, encouraging release. And the rabbit offered reassurance: “Be gentle with yourself—new and abundant beginnings are on the way.”

Wishing you a beautiful day, friends.

30 seconds of play can ripple through your day

Ahhhhhh… with no wind, the morning felt peaceful and warmer than the past few days. So many birds gathered along the shore — a solo skimmer, sandpipers, ruddy turnstones, and of course, the laughing gulls.

A calm ocean added to the serenity, helping my nervous system settle. Pelican Highway traffic was light, heading southbound over the sparkly waves.

After sunrise, a large pod of dolphins relaxed together in the current — until someone said, “Snuggle time!”

For about 30 seconds, snuggle and play took over. The pod said, “Even 30 seconds of play can change your mood. A small moment of connection can ripple through the rest of your day. Presence, even briefly shared, is powerful medicine.”

It is safe to be seen

Ahhhhhh… not a human was stirring. A small flock gathered at the edge of the shore, ready for bath time despite the cooler temperatures.

The peak of the Full Moon was yesterday, but her power could still be felt as she lingered bright in the sky. The Moon said, “I am here to encourage your bravery. Use my light to release anything that keeps you from being seen. Trust me, it is safe to be seen. Open your heart to your creativity. Let your passion flow.”

The sun came up with waves rolling and breaking, the spray softening the light, reminding us that movement can be both powerful and calming.

Transformation- simply a change in form

The sunrise felt like a winter wonderland, with a steamy ocean and white salt spray dancing through the air.

A lively mix of laughing gulls, herring gulls, ruddy turnstones, and a few ring-billed gulls gathered at the water’s edge—some even grabbing a chilly bath.

The highlight was the sun illuminating the steam rising off the ocean, blending with the tops of waves as they lifted and blew in the wind. It felt otherworldly, as if the sea itself was breathing.

The ocean steaming, turning water into air brings the message of transformation~ nothing is lost, it simply changes form.

open and receive the gifts of Jupiter and the Moon

The morning was cozy, with a blanket of clouds hovering low, keeping the warmth tucked in. Mother Nature used a soft pastel palette, the sky resembling Neapolitan ice cream.

Skimmers, ruddy turnstones, royal terns, and laughing gulls filled the shoreline, each tending to breakfast and a bit of self-care.

Above it all, the nearly full Moon lingered close to Jupiter, offering a powerful assist. Jupiter, the planet of expansion, paired with the Moon—keeper of our emotions and intuition—invites growth through trust rather than force.

Together they open a window for emotional wisdom, gentle optimism, and renewed faith in what’s unfolding—an invitation to open and receive the gifts of this powerful pairing.

Tales form the Lagoon ~ Bald Eagle Up Close and Personal

Tales form the Lagoon ~ Bald Eagle Up Close and Personal

This bald eagle went after an osprey with a fish, forcing the osprey to drop his catch. The eagle quickly scooped it up and flew away.

This was the closest I've been to a bald eagle and I have to say it sure was intimidating! I've been approached by sharks who are less intense.

Put your paws to your heart to feel safe

The sunrise was extra soothing today, beginning with a soft hint of pink and warmer air. The flock was already gathered at the shoreline, joined by a few new birds.

A very handsome Ring-billed Gull stepped forward with today’s message, “Stand tall and step forward, you got this.”

As the sun rose from behind the clouds, the sky glowed orange before settling into a warm golden light. The calm ocean soaked it all in, quietly inviting a solo surfer to come out and play.

On my way off the boardwalk, a female squirrel stopped me in my tracks. She had her paw to her heart and said, “When life feels scary or a bit crazy, pause. Put your paw to your heart and take a few deep breaths. It helps calm the nervous system and reminds you that you are safe.”

Nature restores balance

Good morning! The wind whipped the tops of the waves, sending salty spray into the air, while the sun rose big and bold, offering warmth and the feeling of a fresh beginning.

The flock arrived right on time for bath time. A solo skimmer skimmed low over the water, and several ruddy turnstones flitted along the shoreline, busy with breakfast.

Nearby, a mourning dove puffed up her feathers against the chill. She offered a simple reminder, “Any time in nature helps the body regulate. No loud message — just the steady reassurance that a few minutes in nature can soothe the soul.”

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Human Whispering

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Human Whispering

I often say the dolphins are human whispering—connecting through presence, frequency, and intention.

This is Daniko, a male dolphin I’ve photographed since 2018. Dolphins use their rostrum (snout) to direct echolocation—waves of sound and vibration moving through the water. I can feel it when they intentionally send that energy my direction.

Each dolphin, like us, carries a unique energetic signature. That along with their intention determines the quality of the waves. Sometimes playful, sometimes frisky—and other times, like in this video, soothing and healing.

Can you feel it?

Support is all around

Wowzer! Mother Nature used every crayon in the box, gifting us a spectacular sunrise. A blanket of clouds made the morning feel cold and cozy at the same time.

The flock flew in ready for bath time and hang time, while Pelican Highway traffic was sparse heading southbound. One Legger led the crew, skillfully using the wind to hang in place or dart off and circle back.

Fred the laughing gull brings the message today, “Notice how support doesn’t always arrive loudly. Sometimes it’s the wind holding you in place, the sand beneath your feet, or the combination of colors and soft clouds reminding your heart you are safe.”

Soak up the light

Mother Nature greeted us with a heart-opening light show, rays pouring through the clouds inviting us to soak up the light.

The wind whipped the tops of the waves, tossing salty white spray into the air.

As the sun rose, a single beam of light broke through — steady and sure — before slowly spreading into a breathtaking landscape. A reminder that clarity often arrives as one small opening before it expands into something bigger than we imagined.

Pelican Highway was active, huge waves carrying them southbound. Despite the chill, the flock embraced an invigorating bath time, showing us that sometimes the very thing that wakes us up also refreshes our spirit.

Stay open, soak up the light

Ahhhhhh… a veil of misty fog hovered over the shoreline, softening the morning until the sun slowly rose, painting a golden lining along the clouds on the horizon. The light felt gentle, as if it needed a moment to arrive.

The gulls flew in with hearts and wings wide open, reminding us to stay open ourselves—to receive the warmth, the light, and whatever wants to meet us today.

So many birds gathered: skimmers, laughing gulls, herring gulls, royal terns, and ruddy turnstones. One bird already had an almost black head, a quiet sign that spring and mating season are on the way. There was a hint of romance in the air, subtle but unmistakable.

A skimmer joined the laughing gulls for bath time, moving in sync as they used the buddy system. They said, “It’s good to have a wingman—even during bath time. Some things are simply better when shared.”

Embrace the waves!

Salty fog lingered in the air as swirly clouds drifted overhead, wrapping the morning in a soft, soothing hush. The sky felt tender and alive.

The flock flew in loud and animated, eager to connect, their voices weaving into the rhythm of the shore. Waves rolled in steadily, adding a spark of exhilaration to bath time.

One gull stood her ground, letting each wave wash over her. She said, “Embrace the waves. They may feel daunting at first, but once they pass, you’ll discover you’re stronger than before.”

After sunrise, pelicans skimmed the water, chasing tiny fish for breakfast, wings wide and confident. They said, “Keep your wings open. If you need to pause or break, you’ll know. Trust your inner guidance. You’ve got this.”

Let the light heal

Inhale, Exhale, Repeat, Be

Wow, The sunrise arrived with quiet power today — clouds perfectly placed, opening just enough to let heart-warming rays stream through. Below, the ocean churned gently, soaking it all in as golden sparkles danced across the waves.

The flock was ready for bathtime and connection. Pixar and One Legger were hanging out together reminding us how comforting it is to have a wingman nearby.

The streaming sunlight felt like an invitation: Inhale the warmth. Exhale whatever feels heavy. Let the light do what it does best, soften, soothe, and quietly heal.
