Our collective energy sends ripples outward
Wow… what a sunrise! Mother Nature painted the sky with every color in the crayon box this morning. Soft pastels, glowing gold, and a sky that felt like it was stretching its arms wide open. The whole scene was heart-opening and peaceful.
The flock was already gathered at the shoreline, ready for bathtime and ready to connect, with each other, with the morning, and with us.
Today’s message is from both me and the flock:We are deeply grateful for you and your support. We are grateful for the healing, restorative beauty Mother Nature brings each day.And we are especially grateful that she creates a space where we can all connect through something positive, genuine, and soul-nourishing.
So much gratitude for this community. Thank you for being part of the pod, our collective energy ripples outward, creating something beautiful together.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Be silly to lighten your load
Good Morning! First light was serene, not a creature was stirring, not even a gull. The sky slowly brightened, offering a soft pastel color show. Eventually the sun lifted through the clouds, filling the sky and ocean with a vibrant golden glow.
The gulls flew in hot from the ocean, ready to connect and get squeaky clean. A pod of dolphins traveling south paused just long enough for a joyful leap before moving on.
The solo dolphin who launched out of the water said, “Go ahead! Be spontaneous. Be open to playing. I know we say this a lot, but it’s true, being too serious can make life feel heavy. Break out into a few minutes of silly to lighten the load.”
Wishing you a fun day friends!
Stillness brings clarity
Ahhhhh, with clouds resting on the horizon, the sunrise brought us a beautiful lighthouse of light to start the day. The chatty flock flew in hot at first light, eager to get squeaky clean.
As the sun climbed higher, gold poured across the water like liquid light. Waves rolled toward shore calling the surfers to come play and the gulls to splash in the shallow water.
One of the gulls emerging from bathtime said, “Slow it down and soak in the moment. In the stillness, between the waves and the rush, is where clarity finds you. It’s in that tiny gap of quiet where the pearls of insight are born.”
Wishing you a beautiful day.
Stay open to surprises
Ahhhhh… Mother Nature brought a gentle, uplifting start to the day.Soft sunrise colors stretched across the sky, painting gold on the calm ocean. Long before the sun broke the horizon, the flock gathered early along the shoreline, chattering and splashing as though warming up for the day ahead.
A pod of dolphins glided by in the pre-dawn glow, followed by another pod once the sun had risen. Their playful leaps caught the light perfectly, reminding us how much joy lives in spontaneity.
While photographing them, an osprey surprised me, swooping down and catching a fish just a few feet away! For a moment, everything felt alive, aligned, and connected. The osprey said,“Life can shift in an instant—stay open to surprises, they often carry gifts.”
The dolphins chimed in saying, “When you feel overwhelmed, remember: movement and play are medicine. Joy recalibrates the whole world.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

White Pelicans

A week of pelicans
The sunrise stayed hidden behind thick, wet fog. We’ve had quite a week of pelicans, so I thought I’d show more of the sushi-sunrise, mixed with the white pelicans from yesterday. The first photo is a happy accident—my settings created this ethereal bird art.
Fun Fact: White pelicans are true giants compared to their brown cousins! With wingspans that can stretch over 9 feet, they are one of the largest birds in North America. Next to them, brown pelicans can look almost petite—even though they’re still impressively large birds!
Wishing you a beautiful day, friends!
PS ~ I’ll be at Outriggers Tiki Bar & Grille today from 11:30–4

Look who is back in New Smyrna Beach!
The white pelicans were resting on a sandbar with brown pelicans, terns, cormorants and gulls.
Did you know..... unlike brown pelicans, white pelicans don’t dive for fish — instead, they work together in groups, herding fish into shallow water and scooping them up with teamwork and precision.

see past distractions
Ahhhhh, Mother Nature is on repeat this week with calming beauty and soft, soothing colors. The flock flew in early and hot, feeling extra chatty and ready for the day.
Hook, the laughing gull, paused in front of the rising sun, showing off his strength and beauty in a single effortless moment.
Pelican Highway traffic was light this morning, gliding with ease down the shoreline. Clouds hugged the sun as it arrived, sending warmth and golden light across the ocean with shimmering sparkles.
Our winter visitor, the Cooper’s hawk, was perched in his usual spot, scanning carefully for breakfast.
He said, “I am here to remind you how resilient you are. Trust your instincts. You will know when to take action. Like me, you will see past the distractions with your laser sharp focus, soaring like never before.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon _ Episode- A day with a male dolphin
This is Charley — I first met him in 2022. As you’ll see in this video, he’s playful and full of charm. It starts with him popping up to say hello, followed by a smooth fish grab, and on his way back he swims by on the shallow side.
Stay tuned for more tales!
Fully present to be strong
With a thick layer of fog an hour before sunrise, I wasn’t sure we’d get to see the sun. Surprisingly, the fog lifted—almost like someone gently pulling back a curtain—and a beautiful sunrise greeted the day. Mother Nature used every crayon in the box, painting an ever-changing landscape across the sky.
A chatty flock flew in early for bath time. I was completely mesmerized by the waves, so I headed into the ocean with Fred the laughing gull by my side.
The waves soaked up the sparkles of light as they rolled toward shore. Dolphins frolicked far off on the horizon while an egret grabbed breakfast in the shallows. The egret said, “Sure, I have skinny legs, but when I’m fully present in my body, I’m strong, able to stay upright even as the waves wash past me.”
Several high-speed gull chases broke out over spilled fish. And if you’ve ever wondered how gulls end up with leg injuries, the last picture gives a peek into one of the ways.

Make space for what’s ready to grow
Another gorgeous start to the day! What a week of calming, gorgeous sunrises here in sunny Florida. The chatty flock was already gathered at the edge of the ocean when I arrived, greeting the morning with their usual enthusiasm.
We all started getting squeaky clean before the sun even crested the horizon, rising up looking like a glowing hot-air balloon lifting off the ocean.
One of the gulls with a little feather hanging down shared today’s message, “Now is the time to let go of the old feathers. A little self-reflection and self-care go a long way in keeping your balance. Make space for what’s ready to grow.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Bite off more than you swallow
Ahhhhhhh… Mother Nature brought us another calm and gorgeous morning. The pre-dawn sky glowed with soft pink, orange, and blue, with Venus shining bright on the horizon as the flock flew in to say hello.
Pelican Highway was jamming in both directions, a full rush hour of wings lining up mid-air as they glided down the shoreline. They said, “We’re your reminder that people, places, and opportunities are lining up for you. Even if it’s happening behind the scenes or out of sight, trust that alignment is already underway.”
A herring gull who found a sandy fish strutted right over to show off her prize. Even with her mouth full and feathers a bit grainy, she said, “Go ahead—bite off more than you think you can swallow! It may feel like a stretch, but with time and persistence, you can accomplish your goal.”
Wishing you a beautiful day, friends!

Let go to grow. Play to ease the transformation
Mother Nature brought us another dolphins sunrise! It started off quiet with just the flock greeting the sun as it came up to start the day. The waning moon was just a sliver in the lavender sky.
The ocean was calm making it easy to see the dolphin leaping in the distance. The new moon tomorrow and dolphins bring us the message today.
The man in the moon said, “The upcoming new moon is very potent! It is ushering in the energy of death and rebirth. Use my energy to illuminate what no longer serves you, making room for new growth and new opportunities.”
The dolphins added, “This lunation phase can feel extremely intense so we highly recommend playing to find balance. Go ahead, color outside the lines, dance like no-one is watching it will ease your transformation.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Trust in the timing - pause, ride the waves
The morning started off quiet — not a creature was stirring, not even a gull. Then, as if someone flipped a switch, the entire beach woke up. The flock of gulls appeared out of nowhere, followed by hundreds of pelicans raining from the sky, diving and splashing as they grabbed breakfast.
Further out, several dolphins enjoyed their own morning feast and snuggles, while sharks joined the pelicans in the waves. Nature’s version of rush hour — wild, exhilarating, and perfectly choreographed.
And if that wasn’t enough to get the heart pumping, a gorgeous sunrise rose behind it all, painting a breathtaking start to the day. So many messages today!
A solo pelican catching lift from an emerald wave said, “Let the waves carry you. Trust the timing — they always rise exactly when you need them."
Another pelican paused midair, hovering above the feast below. She said, “Don’t be afraid to pause and take in the bigger picture. Rest and perspective make your next dive more powerful.”

Play is good medicine
Wahooooooooo! Another party-kind-of morning!
The day began in stillness — a calm ocean, a quiet beach, and a red sky that softened into a warm orange glow. As the sun rose, a blush of pink shimmered across the northern horizon while golden light spilled to the south.
Right on cue, a pod of dolphins cruised in from the south, grabbing fish and leaping just for the fun of it. I heard there was another pod near the jetty enjoying their own breakfast party — double the joy, double the play!
The flock was extra chatty today. Peg paused mid-air, hovering in place as she said, “Slow down. Savor the moment. Stretch past your limits — your heart will thank you.”
A frisky pod of dolphins chimed in,“We agree! Soak up the moment, play, and have fun! It’s good medicine for your soul.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tune your inner radio station to play
A pink glow filled the sky beneath the glowing waning moon. When I reached the beach, not a creature was stirring—not even a gull. That all changed in a blink. The flock flew in just as a pod of dolphins swimming by from the south stopped for an impromptu party.
Fourteen minutes before sunrise, three dolphins started launching themselves out of the waves! They bring us the message of pure play.
They said, “We leap to remind you that joy isn’t a luxury—it’s a frequency. Even one minute of play can shift your whole energy and help you attract what your heart desires. Think of it like tuning your inner radio station, go ahead and turn up your happy playlist.”
They continued swimming to the north as the golden sun rose, lighting up the horizon and warming the morning and ushering in a new day.
Wishing you a playful day friends!
