It’s ok To Pause
As I walked to the beach there was a small opening of light coming through the dark cloud enveloping the beach. A rain cloud floated to the north on the horizon as the flock flew in to say good morning.
The breeze picked up as the sun came up behind the clouds. The cloud wall separated becoming a vast picture of fluffy clouds filling the sky.
After sunrise a dolphin glided by the dock with a greeting. He said, “Sure I like to jump and play yet there are times I like to take it easy and enjoy the moment. I’m here to remind you that it's okay to pause, to float along and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you."

After the storm comes a rainbow
Raindrops keep falling on my head….A very dramatic sunrise with walls of rain, a quick rainbow, dolphins, pelicans, laughing gulls, a butterfly and even the sun made an appearance.
When I reached the edge of the shore rain was all around soaking up the moody blues and bit of pink color giving us purple rain. Dolphins were in the distance grabbing breakfast while Pelican Highway also searched for snacks.
The sun came out filling the sky with a vibrant gold light and a rainbow! Like Katy Perry sang in her song Firework, “After the storm comes a rainbow.”
After sunrise I met a butterfly who put all the messages together for us. She said, “‘Even when life feels stormy, nature offers us symbols of hope, resilience, and transformation.”
“The stormy sunrise reminds us that even the darkest moments can lead to new beginnings. The butterfly encourages us to embrace change and trust in our transformation. The rainbow promises that after the storm, beauty and hope will follow. And the bathing gull teaches us the vital importance of self-care in sustaining our strength.”

Together we are stronger
Mother Nature used her swirly paint brush today with soft and flowing brush strokes. The morning started with soft pink hues switching to vibrant gold and red accompanied by a perfect breeze.
The chatty flock of gulls flew in early to enjoy bath time, rest and soak in the quiet of the morning.
Pelican Highway was jamming again today stopping often for breakfast. Two pelicans flying together encourage us to support each other along the highway. “Together we are stronger and able to share the load.”
Lots of stingrays in the warm shallow water. This morning our message comes from a skate, they look very similar to a stingray.
She said, “Communication comes in many forms. You can talk to us with your feet. Although skates won't harm you, stingrays have long barbs that have venom that can be painful to humans. Just shuffle your feet to let us know you are coming and we will move along."
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Let yourself be surprised by unexpected twists and turns
The morning air was a mix of smoke and Sahara dust giving us another muted sunrise starting with soft pastel colors morphing to a golden glow.
As the sun came up, the morning came to life! Fish were flying as they chased breakfast, or tried to escape being a snack. At the same time Pelican Highway stopped in front of the sun for a sushi party.
They bring the message of expecting the unexpected. The fish said, “Life has a way of surprising us. Let yourself be caught off guard with joyful unexpected twists and turns.”
As Pelican Highway slammed on the brakes and dove for fish, they said, “Weeeeee! We are experts in flowing one way then in a blink we can change directions. We highly recommend following your instincts in a fluid way so you are ready to pivot with ease."
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Chasing and escaping
Even small waves can give you a lift
Despite smoke filling the air from a fire, the sunrise was serene and beautiful. Mother Nature used her springtime pastel color palate. A calm ocean and solo dolphin swimming by the rising sun added to the beauty.
The flock of chatty gulls danced around the sun celebrating the start of another day. Pelican Highway traffic was close to shore raising the small waves down the beach. They said, “Even the smallest wave gave lift and carry us down the beach.”
The waves added to the message saying, “We bring the message of timing. Not to worry if you feel like you missed a wave, more are on the way.”

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Baby Dolphin is Growing So Fast!
I first saw this newborn calf on 5.25.24 when s/he was very dark and so tiny. (Last photo) Newborn dolphins are dark in color and have what looks like stripes. The stripes are called fetal bands from being scrunched up in the the mom. The stripes eventually slough off over a few weeks.
I saw the baby yesterday and today and also got a better look at the momma too. The Momma has a little bump on her dorsal fin and an indentation on her back making her easy to identify.
Little Squirt seems to be doing really well! When Squirt wasn’t sandwiched between two adults S/he was following her/his Momma into the shallows chasing fish.
What an honor to see this little nugget the past 12 days. The first baby dolphin I met was in June 2018 and I was able to photograph him his first year, I hope we get the same with Squirt.
Stay tuned for more tales!

Ride the energy waves to feel ease
At first light the horizon gently blushed with pastel hues, casting a warm, tranquil glow over the ocean. A light breeze danced across the water, caressing the surface with textured ripples. The flock was already at the edge of the ocean ready to connect and bring in the new day.
Pelican Highway was in jamming in both directions using the waves to glide with ease down the shoreline. They remind us to ride the energy waves to make life feel easier.
They said, “Lean into the waves, learn to ride them, flow with energy. There is an ease that comes when you align yourself with the natural rhythms around you. Embrace the flow and let it carry you effortlessly.”

Acknowledge and connect to your heart
Wow, it was a beautiful heart opening kind of sunrise with so many messages! First light filled the sky with pink ribbon clouds ready to greet the sun as it came up to light up the morning.
When the sun came up, it looked like people were walking from left to right reminding us we have support available, all we have to do is ask.
A baby shark was swimming in the waves grabbing tiny fish for breakfast while the flock celebrated the sun with their open hearts. The young shark said, “I’m here to encourage you to focus on your strengths. Remember, opportunities are all around, use your sensitivity and strength to know which way to go.”
While walking off the boardwalk, a male squirrel with a bushy tail stopped me for a long chat. For a moment, we simply regarded each other in silence.
He showed me the sunrise through his eyes, then he put his little paw to his heart and said, “Seeing life through the eyes of another can transform your understanding of the world. It does’t mean you agree, it’s just another perspective.”
Then he hopped a few feet away, stood up, put both paws to his heart and added, “Taking a moment to acknowledge and connect to my heart is my recipe for a life full of love and peace.”

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Hello from a Young Dolphin
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Hello from a Young Dolphin
This is the first Momma dolphin I met. When I first saw her it was at the end of 2017 and she was healing from a rope entanglement scar.
I saw her again June 2018, that's when I learned she was a female because she had a baby with her! I named her Momma not knowing I would meet so many other moms.
After getting in the water with my camera, she was the second dolphin who spent a lot of time just hanging out pointing her rostrum at me - I call that Human Whispering.
In this video her youngin' followed in her foot steps pointing her rostrum at the camera. Can you feel it?

Embracing the rhythms of life
At first light, pink fluffy clouds floated by, carried gently by the salty breeze. The sky looked as if was created by a masterful painter using hues of soft pink, gold and orange.
As the sun came up hugged by the fluffy clouds the gulls began to celebrate the beginning of a new day. We headed into the shallow water to get squeaky clean.
They said, “About this time of year our feathers look a bit tattered. It’s the time of year when our heads change to black signaling it is time to mate.”
“Our transformation is subtle and a reminder of the cycles and rhythms of life. We are here to encourage embracing the rhythm of life, allowing the flow like the tides coming and going.”

Trust yourself, a super power
The quiet of first light accompanied but he captivating sliver of a moon was a wonderful way to start the day.
Wispy and fluffy clouds greeted the sun with a sweet embrace as it came up to greet the day. It filled the sky with orange and golden ribbons of light just as the flock slew in with open wings ready for a new day.
After sunrise the marina was busy with all kinds of herons. Among them, a green heron stood out, a small but striking figure poised on a wire above the water.
She said, “For me to thrive, the main ingredient is to trust myself fully so I can lean in. And, this might sound surprising, I hold the wire gently, rather than with a tight grip.
“You see, if I am solid, balanced and confident with myself, no matter how flimsy foundation I am strong.”

New moon reflection
Ahhhhhh, another gorgeous sunrise with a lovely breeze and active ocean. The almost new moon was high in the sky surrounded by wispy clouds before the sunrise came up to greet the day.
The almost new moon brings us the message today. New moons usher in new and fresh energy for us to harness. This one is situated in the sky asking us to reflect on how we are communicating with others. It is encouraging us to be open minded and adaptable, wiling to pivot and change if necessary.
A solo pelican chimed in adding, “I agree with the moon. You see, I follow my instincts because they let me know when to veer off the highway and grab a fish. For me to thrive, it is necessary to be spontaneous and adapt to my environment daily.”

Tales from the lagoon ~ Episode- Newborn Dolphin Update!
Tales from the lagoon ~ Episode- Newborn Dolphin Update!
I was so excited to see the newborn calf this morning, 7 days since the last sighting.
The last photo is from May 25, just 7 days ago and how much s/he has grown. My Facebook friends named the little one Squirt.
Squirt and her Momma were with a maternity pod- which consists of a few moms and their kiddos, usually with a male escort.
Squirt and the Momma stayed in the distance for a while but much to my surprise they came in close so I could grab a couple close ups! What a playful peanut! So tiny, popping out of the water like popcorn. You can see the tiny size of her dorsal fin next to the adult.
Bonus! The first Mom I met in 2018 was in the pod too. I named her Momma because I had no idea I would meet so many moms. More from her and her latest calf coming soon. And Uncle Larry popped in too!
So much to share, stay tuned!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Multiple Dolphin Leaps
I had some great quality time hanging with Momma, her latest calf, and Momma Dailia along with a few others and several pelicans. At one point the dolphin sped out to the middle of the river, which is when I say, “We are on the loose!”
The pelicans were a little slow to figure it out but eventually they took off to join the dolphins charging! When the dolphins charge, it is very exciting and they tend too all jump at the same time. Thankfully they staggered their jumps by a couple of seconds which you’ll see toward the end.
The video shows how they can be chillin’ one minute then off to a party in a blink.

A little shift creates change
Mother Nature brought us more of a winter looking kind of sunrise with blues and gold colors along with huge clouds. It was windy with a churning ocean when the flock flew in later than usual. When the sun came up a single beam of gold light streamed outward giving us a vibe of hope.
Pelican Highway traffic was light with just a few pelicans zipping by, propelled but he wind. One of the pelicans brings us one of the message today. “When I drop one of my wings just a little, it changes the course of my flight. I’m a reminder that the smallest shift can create a big change.”
A bunny rabbit was having breakfast after sunrise reminding us to stop and smell the flowers. She went on to say, “Use your instincts to nurture your creative ideas and watch the abundance manifest.”

Do the unexpected
The morning was invigorating with whipping wind and a churning ocean. Fluffy clouds greeted the sun as it came up streaming golden light onto the textured ocean.
A chatty flock flock of gulls flew in later than usual using the wind to hang in place. They remind us to be resourceful. They said, “Harness the elements around you, the daily variation can give you an advantage you didn’t expect.”
On my way back from the beach I heard a couple of ducks quacking non stop. I followed their call and ended up at a pool where a duck couple was splashing around enjoying a morning swim.
They made their way to the side of the pool and said, “Sure swimming in a pond is nice but taking a dip in the pool is refreshing. We highly recommend coloring outside the lines, it’s fun to do what isn’t expected. And, slow it down, savor the moment as you explore the new and different.”

Alone time to get clarity
As I stood at the edge of the ocean, a salty breeze brought waves of alternating warm and cool air that felt soothing on my skin. The chatty flock of gulls was ready to get squeaky clean as the sun came up above the textured ocean.
One of the gulls getting squeaky clean took a few minutes to enjoy surfing the waves reminding us to play while doing our daily chores.
After the sun came up a flock of egrets flew in to hunt for breakfast. They said, “Our secret to success is being very focused and light on our feet. We stay fully present in the moment ready for action.”
Down the beach a solo pelican veered off Pelican Highway for a rest. He said, “A little alone time off the highway helps me center. Solo time is a nice way to regroup and gain clarity so I can hop on the highway again.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Solo time off the highway
Be open to guideposts
As I walked across the boardwalk to the beach, the calm ocean and pink glow in the sky took my breath away. A flat ocean looked more like a lake soaking up sweet shimmering colors from the sunrise.
The chatty flock of gull showed up at their usual time with wings and hearts wide open. We enjoyed bath time along with a celebratory dance around the sun.
As the sun came up, kissing the ocean goodbye for the day, a sailboat heading out into the wide open sea passed the channel marker. They remind us to look for guideposts along the way.
They may not always be obvious like the channel marker but they are always around ready to show you the way.
