Go below the surface for your answers
Ahhhhh Mother Nature brought us an exquisite pastel sunrise. The color show shimmered over the wet sand and water adding the beauty of the day. The very large and chatty flock was already at the beach when I arrived.
Buddy the herring gull was in the crowd. This is the 3rd year he has been in the flock. Most herring gulls can be a bit bossy but not Buddy.
He is sweet and loves to stand on his tippy toes to get a better view. He said, “I bring the message of standing out in a crowd. Be courageous and let yourself be seen.”
A mature Ibis was grabbing breakfast in the river after sunrise. She said, “I highly recommend getting muddy. It’s fun to walk through the mud while looking for snacks."
"I dig deep for my snacks bringing the message of going deeper, beyond the surface for your answers. I encourage seeing the truth that may be buried. It will set you free!”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Dare to be your unique self
Weeeeeeeee! It was a windy sunrise! Sunlight streamed through the clouds looking like it was raining light. The vibe was definitely one of of hope, beauty and heart expansion.
Pelican Highway moved higher in the sky while the ocean churned. The skimmers continued southbound on the usual highway.
The flock of gulls flew in hot and chatty using the wind to hold steady in place. They said, “We remind using resources all around. Be open to your surroundings, because resources may change by the day.”
One of the gulls put out his little feet to stop and change directions. He said,”It’s fun to go a different direction than the flock. Sure I love the safety of the flock but I also enjoy being my unique self."
Wishing you a heart expanding kind of day!
Things can turn out better than expected
It was a moody blues kind of sunrise and although it was lovely, I thought I’d post something different. These photos are not from today.
This series of photos is from one of my top 3 favorite sunrises. It brings the message, “Things can turn out even better than expected!”
I had a dream I was photographing dolphins in the waves at sunrise. The dream was 2 weeks before this day. On this day, I saw the dolphins surfing the waves to my left. I was excited to see my dream coming true.... But wait there's more!
This young surfer was heading into the water on my right, I was thinking, hurry up and get in there, I bet the dolphins will come play!
Sure enough, the minute he was in the water, the 2 dolphins swam right to him and surfed the waves next to him.
He was was waving to his mom on the beach so she wouldn’t miss the fun.
What an amazing day he had!
Wishing you fun day with unexpected joy!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Daniko the Speed Racer and Pip the Pelican!
Although yesterday there was little light it was a very active day in the lagoon. Daniko came and spent lots of time hanging out along with a flock of pelicans.!
Pip visited for a long while, flying in with his signature pose- feet out and head up. If you are just tuning in, Pip had a sheepshead stuck in his gullet last March. It took quite a while to get better.
I think he may have had some damage to his neck because when he is flying his head is up rather than streamlined. But not to worry, he is doing great! His mature features coming in, make him look especially handsome.
Daniko the dolphin was enjoying connecting and grabbing snacks in the shallows. He was turning on a dime throwing up a wall of water, it was very exhilarating!
Stay tuned for more tales!

Embrace your strengths, Learn from your elders
First light showed a blanket of layered clouds on the horizon soaking up the deep purple and pink colors.
A cool salty breeze felt good in my lungs. The chatty flock of gulls flew in when it was still dark.
Peggy, a laughing gull I haven’t seen this year came in close for a hug. She was with One Legger, also a laughing gull. I met her 4 or 5 years ago at sunrise.
She is both sweet and feisty and an amazing athlete. She said, “I’m a reminder to embrace your strengths.”
Pelican Highway traffic was heavy heading southbound. The mature brown pelicans were leading the younger ones down the road.
They said, “The elder and more mature birds lead the younger ones by example. The younger birds work their way up to the front of the pace line with time and practice. You see, there is a lot to learn, so we don’t mind sitting in the back watching and enjoying the ride.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Greet with your heart open
Release worry and go for it!
With a thick blanket of fluffy clouds the morning was dark and cozy. The chilly breeze was blowing giving the flock the perfect way to hang in place.
Mother Nature used her pastel color palette starting with pink and lavender shifting to a tangerine glow when the sun came up to greet the day.
An osprey who caught a big fish was having breakfast high on a building. She said, “I bring the message going after what your heart desires.”
“Take a deep breath, release your worry and go for it! I encourage you to open your awareness to seeing more, step into your power and watch your goals manifest.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Approach life with joyful humor
Mother Nature brought us a cozy sunrise with soft clouds, fog and a calm ocean. The color show started off a pretty in pink switching to grey and golden.
As the sun came up sunlight streamed through the clouds like liquid gold bringing a hopeful vibe with it.
The flock of gulls and I enjoyed bath time in the chilly water. As the sun came up the waves started to roll in too. Surfers and dolphins were sharing the waves.
The dolphin duo brings us the message today. They said, “Dolphin bring the message of love, play and community. We recommend playing in the waves with friends. We find approaching life with joyful humor makes even the tough times easier. “
Wishing you a joyful day friends!
New moon inspires action
Ahhhhh, Inhale, Exhale, Repeat.
The bright new moon was high in the sky I walked to the beach. Pink swirly clouds filled the sky at first light. The ocean looked more like Lake Atlantic until the sun came up the and the waves began to roll in.
All the snowbirds are here! There were birds as far as the eye could see. When I arrived, they flew up in front of the moon bringing us the message for today.
They said, “This new moon is very powerful, you may feel as if the new year is finally starting. New moons bring the energy of fresh starts. The way this one is situated in the sky you might find yourself feeling ready to take action like us, darting off in an instant.”
“You may also find yourself inspired to think outside and the box. We highly recommend coloring outside the lines and see what you create. Come on it will be fun, let’s use the power of the moon and see what magic unfolds.”
Wishing you a groovy day friends!
Joy in learning
Ahhhhhhhh, with warmer temperatures, a calm ocean except for perfect surfing waves the morning was exceptionally gorgeous. The moon was high in the sky adding to the magic of the morning.
I was so excited to see Tiger the Heermann’s gull fly in with the flock this morning. If you are just tuning in, he is a visitor from Baja. He has been coming to New Smyrna Beach fort the winter for 3 years now. He is so handsome and smart.
The perfect waves were breathtaking as they caught all the colors from the sunrise. Both surfers and pelicans were enjoying the ride.
They bring the message of using wave energy to propel us forward. Find that sweet spot of energy and let it carry you forward. Not to worry if you don’t feel it, another wave will come shortly.
After sunrise Momma Jade and her baby Opal were hanging out. Baby opal was practicing her tail kick to get the fish going. She said, “I bring the reminder to find the joy in learning new things. It’s ok if you are clumsy at first, half the fun is trying.”
Stay tuned for a recap on Mamma Jade.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Osprey, Cormorants and Dolphins, Oh My!
What an action packed week it has been. Cloudy, sunny, windy, calm and the energy of a full moon.
The dolphins have been working together to catch mullet and snook. More pelicans are arriving for the spring and looking to the dolphin for snacks.
Skylar the osprey has scored several pin fish this week. She has had to kick a few osprey out of her air space too which always adds to the drama.
An unsuspecting cormorant was leisurely fishing when a dolphin came under her and gave her a bump. Holy Moly! I have never seen a cormorant move so fast. She came up out of the water running while flapping her wings. She was out of there in 3.4 seconds!
Coming soon, an update on Rusty the seagull, Eddy the pelican and much more!
Stay tuned for more tales!

It’s ok to be grumpy, It’s what you do with it that matters
Mother Nature brought us us a wintry and serene sunrise. The ocean color was a beautiful emerald green surrounded by a pink and golden sky. The wind was less than yesterday adding to the serene vibe.
Pelican Highway was riding the waves heading southbound while skimmers flew northbound.
A variety of gulls flew in hot and chatty to enjoy the sunrise together. One of the laughing gulls had a scowl on his face so I asked him how he was.
He said, “It’s true I am grumpy. It’s ok to be grumpy. It’s best to take time to feel it, then enjoy a little self care to meet your needs. A little time out will help keep you from biting your friends foot."
The mom and baby dolphin added saying, “We find hanging with our pod taking a leisurely swim helps shift our mood. The feel of the water, the sun and love of another helps us feel better.”
Wishing you a groovy day friends!

listen to your heart with a fierce unwavering focus.
Mother Nature brought us another crisp and breezy sunrise, although today the sun came up large and beautiful bringing warmth. The flock of laughing gulls huddled with a flock of skimmers to keep warm.
The breeze tossed the tops of the waves into the air looking like gold and amber sparkles. Pelican Highway traffic was light heading southbound.
After sunrise, Skyler the Osprey started screaming, the scream she does when a bald eagle is coming her way. I watched to see if the bald eagle would try to steal her fish. Much to my surprise, it passed her and pursued an immature bald eagle in chase.
After a few minutes, a total of 2 immature bald eagles and 2 mature bald eagles appeared bringing us a powerful message.
The bald eagle says,”I’m here to encourage you to listen to your heart with a fierce unwavering focus. You see, when you follow your heart, doors will open for you. You may even find opportunities show up in unexpected ways. Remember to stay grounded as you soar to new heights.”
Wishing you a beautiful day!
Turbulent waters will subside
Weeeeeeeeee! Baby it’s windy and chilly. Today was all about the waves and wind blowing the tops of the waves sending salt spray high in tho the air. I call the white sparkly mist, Florida snow. The best kind because we don’t have to shovel it.
The flock of gulls flew in at their usual time but we skipped bath time today and opted instead to huddle together for warmth. Skimmers didn’t seem to mind the cold and were flying northbound looking for breakfast.
After sunrise, the lagoon was hopping with pelicans rapid fire diving for snacks. A loon was flowing around the too! I think this is the same one that returns every year at this time.
The loon brings the message of staying the course. She said, “Everything you have working for is coming into reality."
" I am also a symbol of peace encouraging you to find harmony within yourself and with others. Trust any turbulent waters you have experienced will subside.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Rainy day Play
We are having a rainy start to the day while Mother Nature brings a cold front to sunny Florida. Here are a few photos from this week that didn’t make the post.
The rain brings us a message of improvising and rest. Go ahead, break up your routine and color outside the lines.
The mature pelican really wanted to be a part of the post yesterday. He is gorgeous with big blue heart melting eyes.
The absence of breeze and calm water made it easy for him to hang in place bringing the message of slowing down to just be.
The dolphin pair is from last year in January bringing us the message of play and fun.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- The Beauty of Breath, The Power of Speed
Sunset at the lagoon was eventful with dolphins coming in and out grabbing fish. Daniko was hanging out for a long while and showed how beautiful the breath can be. He truly is an artist, whether it’s the shapes in his breath of the in the water he kicks up.
A pod mate of Daniko was grabbing snacks nearby showing the beauty of speed in the water.
Pip was hanging out again along with Eddy the pelican and his twin. Actually Eddy has a few brown spots on his chest while his twin has a white belly.
Rusty the seagull with a injured wings was hanging out too. She seems to be doing a tad bit better.
Stay tuned for more tales!

Expect the unexpected, be spontaneous
Inhale, Exhale, Repeat.
With a light breeze and cool temperatures, the sunrise was lovely. The flock of gulls flew in showing their reflection on the wet sand.
Pelican Highway traffic was light heading both directions. I was photographing a pair of pelicans heading southbound when something in the distance jumped out of the water behind them. It looked like a ray but not certain. The unidentified animal said, “Expect the unexpected. I highly recommend being spontaneous, it's fun!"
The light on the ocean was spectacular, a sweet golden copper glow lighting up the waves as they rolled toward shore.
After sunrise Eddy, Patches, Mikey, Spot, and a few other pelicans were grabbing snacks. Eddy has a look alike who was showing off, flying directly at the camera bringing the message of communication through eye contact. He said, “Communication comes in many forms. I’m using my eyes to show I’m focused, and like my photo taken.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Daniko Loves Speed and Play
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Daniko Loves Speed and Play
Danilo introduced himself to me March 2021 when he came speeding by and just as he was in front of me he slid on top of the water and hydroplaned going by at mach speed. I didn’t know at the time he was a male so I named him Danika for the love of speed.
Since then, we have spent many hours together. Many of the dolphins love speed but he loves to be on top of water skimming at top speeds. He also is a great artist, creating shapes and sculptures with his splash.
He has a couple of best friends, Ocean and Uncle Larry to name a few. They love to roll around together or just hang out when they are not fishing. I have coupe videos to share of their playful shenanigans, coming soon.
If you want to see the first speedy photo of Danika, click the link.

be open to support in unique ways
The morning was cool and crisp with a wide open cloudless sky. The orange glow was bright long before the sun came up to greet the day. The flock of gulls could be seen coming down the beach in perfect form.
When they arrived we enjoyed a chilly bath time while watching the sun come up. When the sun kissed the ocean goodbye for the day, a yellow green stream of light was visible, as if they wanted to stretch out the moment.
Once the sun lifted up, it looked like a channel marker was holding it up. The sun illuminates “things” for us. The sun encourages us to be open to seeing new ways of being supported. The channel marker shows us support may come in unconventional or unexpected ways.
One of the laughing gulls in the flock added to the message saying, “Hanging in the flock gives us support to feel safe enough to rest and get squeaky clean. It’s true we squabble and bite at each other but we know together we are stronger.”
Wishing you a day feeling supported!

Together we can spread love with wild abandon
Mother Nature started the day with a vibrant pink and golden color explosion. The intense pink filled the sky, becoming brighter the closer it came to the sunrise. Just minutes before the sunrise the color show faded to a soft and sweet blue that felt extra calming.
One legger and her flock were at the water’s edge before I arrived. They were darting off and retuning with gusto. One of the gulls brings us the message for today.
As she floated up she said, “Join me in being a leader with your wings and heart open. Together we can spread love with wild abandon.”
The moon was high in sky surrounded by wispy clouds and an ethereal angel cloud. Together they remind us to see the unseen. The moon said, “As I am waning, I remind you use my illumination to find gratitude for even the little things.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Open heart and wings with wild abandon
Trust in the timing
Ahhhh, it was sweet and gorgeous sunrise with pink, emerald green and copper colors as the main attraction. The ocean was calm with medium size waves rolling in catching the light, illuminating their textures.
The flock of gulls flew in loud and chatty at their usual time. We enjoyed bath time while flocks of skimmers soared by flying northbound.
The waves and solo laughing gull bring us the message of timing.
The gull stopped and hung in place saying, “If you have felt as if you can’t move forward, not to worry, change is coming. The waves remind us of timing. Not all waves are the same, some roll in a few at a time, others hang at the top longer before rolling in. The theme is, they all roll in eventually. Be ready to catch the waves when you feel the momentum and inspiration.”
Wishing you a day in the flow!
