Focus on your strengths

A layer or salty fog hovered above the water giving us a peaceful and cozy feeing to the morning. A bronze color filled the sky at first light as prefect waves rolled toward shore.

About a dozen seagulls flew in to enjoy the sunrise. One of the gulls with an injured leg had a fish.

He came over close to show his catch saying,”It’s true I’m injured and don’t feel like my best self. Despite my leg not being at a 100%, I was able to catch a fish! I bring the message of focusing on our strengths to thrive, remember you are more resilient than you think.”

Pelican highway gracefully cruise southbound occasionally diving for snacks. They remind us to take action and dive in when we feel inspired.

"Commit to the goal, and go for it! You see staying the course whether you get your fish is part of the journey. Let go of the outcome and have fun.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Fall Deeper in love with your true Love

Mother Nature brought us a repeat sunrise starting with a very still, bronze first light. Once the sun came up the color shifted to an intense golden orange glow filling the air with heat and hope of a new day.

3 seagulls were duking it out over a shrimp in a high speed chase. A couple willets have come to see the sunrise every day this week.

One was enjoying a quiet breakfast bringing us the message of love. She said, “I encourage you to fall in love with the reflection of your true love. You’ll find loving yourself attracts more of what you desire.”

After breakfast, Willy and Wilhelmina got into a little squabble. They said, “Sometimes we have to work things out by expressing our frustrations. Not to worry, we made up and went on to walk the beach together.”

Love is your superpower

The Sahara Sands are back giving us a muted and serene sunrise.  At first light, purple, pink yellow and blue came together to give bronze color show.  Before the sun came up, I found my body matching the stillness of the morning.

The ocean was calm except for the perfect waves rolling in.  Little sharks were cruising by in the waves looking for breakfast.  They said, “We bring the message of focusing on your strengths.  You see, what you put your focus on is what you create. We are sensitive and strong reminding you to use your intuition to kick start yourself and move forward. Not to worry, you can handle any situation.”

After sunrise I ran into a couple of love birds.  Oh my heart be still, they were so sweet together.  The mourning dove couple bring us the message of peace and love.  They said, “Love is a powerful tool to make life sweeter, we recommend showing love to your flock.  Allow yourself to let go of anything in the way of compassion for yourself and others.”

Wishing you a day filled with love!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Pip the Pelican gives a Lagoon Update

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Pip the Pelican Shares an Update from the Lagoon

Hi everyone!  It’s me Pip!  If you are just tuning in, I’m an immature pelican who befriended Shelley March 23 when she helped me get a filleted fishy out of my pouch.

This week was very exciting in the lagoon.  I started seeing manatees!  I hadn’t seen one of these before.  They are huge!  When one swam by me I was confused because I didn’t know what it was.  It came up for a breath near me and I got startled and flew the other direction.  I’ve seen more since then and have learned they are very sweet.

I still like the momma dolphins the best, they are more gentle.  I get a little scared when they jump and chase fish really fast.

I felt more sleepy this week so I spent more time on my pole with Mikey the great egret and Violet my mature pelican friend.  Violet is a bit intense and aggressive so I know to keep my distance from her.

I’m still putting all kinds of things in my beak like sticks and leaves.  The other day Mikey was grooming and his feathers were flying so I picked on up and it got stuck in the corner of my beak.  I shook and shook but it wouldn’t budge. I was really frustrated!  Finally I jumped back in the water and plunged my whole body deep into the water and it came out.  Phew!

Oh and I am learning about stingrays. Shelley and I were sitting on the sandbar about a foot apart.  Shelley was giving me one of those pep talks about the life of a bird when a stingray swam between us!  I flapped my wings and gave a little sound that surprised both of us.  We both laughed for a while.  The lagoon sure is full of cool wildlife!

Stay tuned for more tales!

Savor the textures and sensations

Before sunrise the color looked muted giving us almost a black and whit first light with a slight copper haze. When the pink sun came up it spread a golden orange light across the ocean filling the air with a hopeful and happy vibe.

Perfect waves rolled toward shore beckoning the surfers to come play. Pelican highway traffic was light flying in both directions. They joined the surfers using the waves to cruise down the beach.

2 dolphins were rolling around in the waves, snuggling and chasing fish. They bring the message of play and savoring each moment with our pod mates. “We encourage taking time to play, letting yourself experience the textures and sensations of the moment. We know how a few moments of joy can shift the energy of your day.”

Wishing you a playful day friends!

A message of trust alignment and timing

As I walked to the beach I could see pink light jetting in the blue sky like a super powered flashlight. The contrast of deep blue and pink was breathtaking.

A soft, salty breeze filled my lungs and sand under my feet helped me feel grounded. A couple seagulls and a solo blue heron were already at the water when I arrived.

An undertow was strong as the beautiful waves rolled in catching the light. The undertow, waves and Pelican Highway bring us the message of trust, alignment and timing.

The current reminds us that energy is moving around us even if we can’t see it. Sometimes the undertow is subtle and other times it can catch us by surprise and carry us forward.

Pelican Highway chimed in saying, “Just like us, things are lining up. Not to worry, people, places and things are getting into alignment whether you are aware of it or not.“

The waves remind us about timing. There are cycles and rhythms to waves, reminding us to grab our surfboard of life and be ready to grab the wave when it arrives. While waiting, enjoy playing in the water of life.

Wishing you a groovy day friends!

Change is part of our evolution

This morning brought us a soft and sweet sunrise. Mother Nature wanted to highlight the symbol of love with a heart in the clouds and in a wave. The heart is a universal symbol of love and life, unifying us.

The waves were rolling in catching the light as light pelican Highway traffic cruised southbound.

I ran into several hermit crabs on a walk about. They bring us the message of exploration and growth. They said, “We wander about looking for food and in search of new opportunities. We have our home with us so we are free to move from one place to another.”

“It’s natural for us to outgrow our current shell, growth and change are all part of our evolution. When our shell becomes too small for us we search for a new one that will take us the next level.”

Wishing you a day filled with love!

Tales from the lagoon ~ Osprey Raspberry and Dolphin Play

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Osprey Raspberry and Dolphin Play

Yesterday the birds were a bit cranky. Skylar the osprey flew in to hang out on the railing of the nearby condo. She screeched for at least 30 minutes, so loudly I got out out of the water to get closer and snap her photo. She was talking to her reflection in the window then turned around and continued to vent very loudly!

Dolphins came in and all day for a little play but mostly to relax. When they left then went to the shore across the river to grab snacks then came back to chill and roll around.

Pip the pelican and several other pelicans were hanging out too. Pip got a little grumpy with another immature pelican and grabbed her neck with his beak. This is pretty common to see when pelicans get grumpy. I think it’s a good sign Pip feels strong enough to try to be dominant. I was relieved to see no-one was injured and they continued to fish together after the little squabble.

Never a dull moment in the lagoon! Stay tuned for more tales!

Love needs an open door

Mother Nature brought us a moody blues kind of sunrise with low light and and sweet refections. Silver light danced across the water looking more like a moon shadow than a sunrise.

The moon was high in the blue sky adding to the romantic vibe of the morning. About a dozen seagulls flew in to say hello and hang out int he shallow tide pool. We enjoyed a little bath time and a few giggles too.

One of them looking at himself said, “Laughing with yourself is a great way to lighten the load. You see, giggles and laughing with yourself is a wonderful way to shift your mindset.”

A couple other seagulls added to the message saying, “Love needs an open door, we recommend opening your wings and hearts to let it in. You’ll find you are able to soar even higher with the support.”

Wishing you a day filled with love!

Use all the resources at your disposal

WOW! An awe inspiring masterpiece of a sunrise again this morning. Purple rain streamed from huge fluffy clouds in every direction. The smell of salty rain filled the air.

The color show was unique looking as if Mother Nature was trying out a new pastel color palette never seen before. Wet sand reflected the artful drama giving us a mirror image of the beauty and a heart expanding vibe.

A female osprey was sitting on a wind vane letting the breeze turn her so she could see in every direction with little effort. She looked right at the camera and said, “I’m here to encourage using the resources at your disposal. I can hang out here, letting the wind vane show me all the angels so I can see all the fish in the sea.”

“While I wait for opportunities for breakfast to show up, I am using the time for my daily self care. You see plucking out old feathers and bugs keeps me feeling healthy and ready for what is next.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the lagoon ~ Episode- Blending and communicating with wildlife

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Blending and Communicating with Wildlife.

When I step in the water the first thing I do is tune into the lagoon. If any wildlife are already there, I stand on the periphery, feel for the vibe and ask where I should stand.

I don't approach them, they are always in charge and approach me or include me which is why it is important for me to be present and in tune.

On the days the dolphins just want to eat and not play, I stay out of their space. Other days they come over close as a way of saying, “Come on in.” Where I stand or kneel is always decided by their location and behavior.

Because they dictate where I stand, the background isn’t always ideal like in this set of photos showing playing with a chaotic background.

The other rule of thumb I adhere to is letting go of any outcome. This takes all the pressure off of ‘getting’ a photo. And it allows things I could never even dream of to unfold.

The dolphins are actually very expressive non verbally and verbally. When a boat approaches too quickly into their space they will chuff- which is when they blow air out their blow hole with intensity, sounding like a cough. If you are paying attention you can feel their emotion behind the chuffing.

One day the water was murky from rain. I was alone with one dolphin for about 30 minutes when he started swimming at me chuffing with intensity. I felt like he was strongly asking me to back up, so I backed up out of the water to my knees.

He swam at me again with the same intensity. I backed up further until the water was only at my ankles and apologized for being in his space. I was a little confused because I wasn't very close and didn't feel anything from him to indicate he wanted more space.

A minute later a shark swam by! I was relieved to know he wasn’t upset with me and obviously extremely grateful for the warning.

Stay tuned for more tales!

One step at a time

Ahhhh, Mother Nature brought us a a sweet and salty sunrise. With a soft breeze and lovely reflections the vibe was peaceful and expansive. The sun came up big and bright bringing another day of warmth.

The wet, bumpy sand added to the canvas for the beauty. A few seagulls and a solo willet were enjoying watching the sunrise together.

Willy the willet said, “I bring the message of taking it one step at a time. You see, us birds can get really tried from the heat and wind. Our secret is to take a deep breath and keep on stepping forward. You got this, not to worry you are going to catch your goal. In the meantime, savor the moment.”

Strength gives us stability

It was dark and quiet as I watched the largest super moon of the year set over the river. The power of the moon was palpable.

This moon is pulling on the tides quite a bit this week, since the human body is mostly water, chances are, you are feeling it.

This particular moon brings the message of realigning with our long-term goals. This moon is encouraging us to stay the course, keep working toward our hearts desires with gusto. It is with that strength and determination that we will feel more stable.

As always the full moon has the power to bring to light things that may have been hidden from us. This moon asks us to be open to epiphanies to letting go of structures and beliefs that no longer serve us.

Just after the moon set, a huge layer of pink clods appeared looking like Superman/Superwoman flying across the sky encouraging us to embrace our inner super hero to find the strength we need going forward.

Pelican Highway chimed in saying, “When the energy feels intense we find following the channel markers and holding wings makes the journey easier. We highly recommend collaboration to make the journey fun and more desirable.”

Know when to lead and when to join in the flock

Mother Nature liked the sunrise so much the past few days she recreated a similar masterpiece with Pelican Highway being the highlight.

A pink glow filled the sky at first light starting the morning with a peaceful loving feeling. Pelican Highway traffic was heavy and jamming before the sun came up to greet the day.

The sun came up big and bright kissing the ocean good bye for the day and even showed a little of the green flash.

One of the pelicans in the lead on the highway said, “We know about working together to reach our goal. Sure, the highway gets congested but we eventually get into alignment."

"We also know it is good to take turns in the lead for others to hang in our draft. We bring the message of knowing when to lead and when to join the flock. Sharing the responsibility makes for a great team.”

2 pelicans holding hands just as the wave crested said, “Hold my hand and I'll take you there…together we make life sweeter.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

There's a place for us
Somewhere a place for us
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us somewhere

There's a time for us
Someday a time for us
Time together and time to spare
Time to look, time to care

Someday
Somewhere
We'll find a new way of living
We'll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere

There's a place for us
Somewhere a place for us
Time together with time to spare
Time to look, time to care

Someday
Somewhere
We'll find a new way of living
We'll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere

Someday

And when to join in

You are supported and loved

Mother Nature started the sunrise with pink rays of light jetting into the sky looking like a giant peace sign. A cool breeze and calm ocean added to the beauty.

Pelican Highway traffic was heavy flying southbound. The huge sun came up bringing with it warmth. Pelican Highway and the sun bring us the message of support. The pelicans were flying in formation so they could draft off each other making the flight easier.

They said, “Flying together toward the same goal makes the work load lighter. This way we can fly further and faster without depleted our energy reserves.”

As the sun came up, I could see multiple outlines of people walking across the bottom of the sun. They remind us we are not alone. They said, “Even if you can’t see us, we are here to support you. Keep the faith, ask for help, we love you.”

Wishing you a day feeling supported!

Let your emotions go to make room for new opportunities

With a refreshing breeze and calm ocean the morning was peaceful. The sand was still wet under my feet from a rain storm last night.

Pelican Highway was jamming this am with long lines of traffic flowing over the waves in perfect alignment.

They said, “We bring the message of feeling for the energy of waves building. Trust that people, places and things are lining up to support you, even if you can’t see it.”

“We highly recommend tuning into the waves to feel them coming then you will be able to ride their energy as soon as they show up and it is really fun!”

After sunrise a manatee cruised by bringing us the message to slow down and swim through your emotions. She said, “Especially with a super moon in 3 days, you may find your emotions are heightened. I bring the message of letting your emotions wash over you, swim forward deliberately, trusting the process. Remember letting go makes room for the new.”

Wishing you a groovy day int he flow!

Go within to feel peace

A lovely morning with a perfect soft breeze, rolling waves and lovely reflections on the wet sand. Pelican Highway had long lines of traffic traffic was heavy before sunrise gliding above the waves in perfect t unison.

2 seagulls and a willet were hanging out enjoying the quiet. Zen Willy the Willet was in the zone as he grabbed breakfast. He said, “I bring the message of going within to enjoy moments of stillness. Inner serenity is a wonderful way to feel peace especially if the world around you is frenetic.”

A shrimp boat on the horizon attracted all kids of birds who were using the boat as a resource for food. They said, “We know how to use all our resources to thrive. We highly recommend making creative choices that make life easier, go ahead think outside the box. Survival for us means working smarter not harder.”

This is Wiley the dolphin named for his eyes that are always wide open wild eyes.  I don’t know if he is a male or female but I do know he loves to play!  On this day s/he was with Momma Jade and a large pod of dolphins ranging in age from young to adult.

He loves to tease the pelicans and roll around with his/her friends.  S/he is the kind of personality who is the life of the party, telling jokes and making everyone laugh.

S/he is also a great athlete, leaping out of the water all day long and posing for the camera.  S/he and her friends were coming close creating lots of splash and giggles.  Definitely a fun day watching this one with his/her friends so full of joy.

Look for guideposts for directions

The heat of summer is upon us as the big ball of light heat came up filling air with warmth. Soft pastel colors started the show before the sun came up to greet the day. When the sun peered out from behind the clouds, a golden orange glow filled the sky.

Pelican Highway was exceptional today, the traffic was heavy even at first light. They seemed extra light as they effortlessly floated above the perfect waves. They bring the message of harnessing the energy around us.

One of the pelicans using the crest of the wave with the channel marker in the background said, “Look for the guideposts around you. You will know when you see them, use them to help you know which way to go.”

A few seagulls flew in after sunrise hanging in place remind us to look for new perspectives. They said, “You see, when you look at situations from a different viewpoint you might get new information which can help you make decisions.”

Life is a mirror

WOWZER! Mother Nature brought us a reflective, angelic sunrise with angel clouds, streaming golden light. It was truly awe inspiring, packed with a vibe of love and wonder. The first cloud I saw looked like two angels coming together for a kiss.

The mirror images gave the morning a heart expanding experience. With the absence of a breeze, my body matched the calm. The reflections remind us life is a mirror, to see ourselves, we just have to see what is being sent back to us.

A small flock of seagulls and ruddy turnstones flew in to enjoy the amazing beauty. Rootie Tootie, a ruddy turnstone was grabbing snacks in the wet sand.

She brings us the message of digging for what we need. She said, sometimes the yummy morsels are below the surface and take a little prodding.”

Wishing you a day where the beauty takes your breath away!
