Love Birds
Sunrise lovin’!
If you are just tuning in, we met this love bird couple last week. This video from this morning shows them preening together before sharing a quick meal (regurgitating food for the partner) then partaking in what looks like a mating dance. Sunrise photos are previous post.
Love and support to thrive
As I reached the beach this morning, the calm, soothing blue and white sky immediately settled my nervous system. The gentle hues were like a breath for the soul. At the water’s edge, the chatty flock was already gathered—ready for bath time and morning chatter.
Low tide gifted us another outstanding reflective start to the day. The wet sand mirrored the sky’s soft beauty as magnificent clouds floated above. A lone surfer found quiet solace in the waves, the ocean all to himself.
Closer to shore, a pair of laughing gulls captured my heart. They preened side by side, tender and connected. One of them gently regurgitated food for the other—a gesture known as allofeeding, a form of cooperation and care that strengthens bonds. After breakfast, they danced and sang to one another in a loving display of affection.
They said, “We’re here to encourage supporting your flock mates. Cooperation is how we thrive, not just survive. See how far a little love and sharing can take you today.”

Companionship to nourish the soul
The morning began with a soft pink and lavender light show, gradually shifting into a golden-orange glow. It was another one of nature’s masterpieces, perfectly mirrored in the still, wet sand.
Just above the rising sun, a cloud formed in the shape of a person, bringing a message of comfort and support. A gentle reminder, “ You are never alone. Support surrounds you, often in forms you don’t expect.”
Later, in the calm of the lagoon, a solo dolphin and a pelican shared breakfast for two. They said, “We’re here to encourage connection. Slow down, tune in, and notice who shows up when you're present. Companionship, can nourish the soul.”

Turtle Season is here!
Although a few momma turtles have already come ashore to lay their eggs, today, May 1, officially marks the beginning of turtle nesting season.
Please fill in any holes in the sand, knock down sandcastles, and remove beach furniture at night. Keep lights off to prevent disorienting the turtles. Let’s give these incredible moms and eventually hatchlings a clear, safe path as they face the already challenging journey of nesting and returning to the sea.
Together, we can help protect the next generation of sea turtles!

Stillness to realign
Mother Nature gifted us another reflective morning, with wondrous clouds forming all kinds of whimsical shapes. The wet sand mirrored the sky’s beauty, especially a stunning break in the clouds that looked like a glowing portal.
A chatty flock gathered around the tide pool, joined by several graceful egrets and busy ruddy turnstones.
One laughing gull, basking in a moment of zen, said, “I’m here to encourage you to unplug for a moment. In stillness, your body and mind can shift and realign to support your path forward.”

Ahhhh... Mother Nature gifted us a reflective, heart-opening start to the day.The wet sand mirrored the stunning sunlight, and clouds casting back the artful sky like a gorgeous painting.
A chatty flock of laughing gulls, joined by three elegant egrets, gathered at the tide pool for a crabby, teeny sushi breakfast.
Today’s messengers, a ruddy turnstone and a ring-billed gull, chimed in together with the message of the day, encouraging self-love and self-care as a way to send positive ripples outward.
They said, “Even when you can't see it or feel it, the love and care you give yourself shines like a beacon for others. We highly recommend falling deeper in love with yourself, because it radiates outward. The world feels it, it matters, you matter.”

I met Sarabi 4 years ago when her playful calf swam over and started splashing my camera with his tail. She has visited every spring since.
This week, Momma Sarabi came in by herself a few days ago enjoying some solo feeding time, well, except for the flock of pelicans tailing her.
I wondered where her calf was while she had alone time. About an hour later Charley and M, 2 male dolphins came in with young and they all enjoyed fishing, relaxing and snuggling.

Step forward with love and peace
WOW! Nature’s lightship was the highlight of the morning. Before the steaming light came, the morning was quiet with a hint of a pink glow surrounding fluffy clouds.
The light reflected on the wet sand covered in seaweed. A salty breeze felt soothing on my skin and in my lungs.
When the sun came up, the raining golden light was absolutely breathtaking. While the flock was looking for food in the seaweed a pigeon couple flew in to join in the morning ritual.
The pigeon said, “I’m here to remind you to be the peace and love you want to see in the world. With each step, spread light to your corner of the world.”

Look at yourself with love and compassion
The wind was whipping as I walked to the beach. Huge, dramatic clouds filled the sky—starting out a dark grey, then shifting to pink, and finally glowing gold as the sun rose.
A small flock flew in to greet the morning. A laughing gull gazed at her reflection and seemed to say, “Look at yourself with love and compassion. Let gratitude for all that you are fill your heart, and watch how life shifts in ways you never expected.”
Pelican Highway was in full motion, flying southbound at high speed, using the wind like a jet engine. One pelican seemed to pause mid-flight, soaking in the energy of the rising sun—reminding us to immerse ourselves in nature and to slow down and return a sense of inner peace.

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Male Dolphins Mullet Fest
Daniko and Jasper swam into the lagoon, joining a pod of males who were already having a feast. They enjoyed feeding together for a long while before the larger pod left.
Daniko and Jasper stayed for several more hours snacking and relaxing. After eating loads of mullet the dolphins started tossing mullet at the pelicans which they didn’t mind at all!

Relax and flow
With the absence of a breeze, the morning was still and serene. The ocean lay calm, except for perfect waves rolling gently toward the shore. A chatty flock of gulls flew in, bringing lively energy to the quiet morning.
The color show was soft with swirls and wispy clouds giving us an other worldly looking sunrise.
As I was photographing the waves, a shark leapt out of the water far off in the distance. The shark said, "Expect the unexpected. Stay open to spontaneous surprises, they might be just what you need."
Pelican Highway was gliding along the waves in both directions. A solo pelican gliding above the wave said, “I’m here to remind you to flow with the energy of the waves. Let the wave do the work, relax and trust the flow.

This video is 1 minute long sharing the highlights for several hours in the lagoon.
The morning started with a solo dolphin grabbing mullet. Soon, several dolphins joined in, several moms and their kiddos, and several males. Everyone was feeding, relaxing and snuggling!
At one point, it was a very low tide when a pod of mostly males started rolling around in about 4 feet of water where I was standing. The energy was amazing! Not to worry, I kept backing up out of their way.
If that wasn’t enough, 2 manatees came in for quiet time in the back part of the lagoon away from the boats and dolphins. They enjoyed connection, even popped by to say hello as they sauntered away.

Spring is in the water....everyone was feeling snuggly and happy. The manatees have been back in this part of the lagoon almost daily enjoying time away from the boats for quiet time with a few smooches. One was on his back with his flippers crossed on his belly just enjoying a good float.
The dolphins have lots to share! So many stories to come. Snuggles, snacks and smooches on the way. Stay tuned for more tales!

Soak up vitamin D to feel renewed
The sky was filled with a soft, pink light even before the sun rose to greet the day. A chatty flock gathered at the edge of the shore as I arrived, their calls blending with the gentle rhythm of the morning.
The waves rolled in like a velvety blanket, smoothing the sand with each graceful touch. When the sun finally appeared, it looked like a glowing hot air balloon, pausing just long enough to give the ocean a quick goodbye kiss before rising higher into the sky.
Today’s message comes from a laughing gull basking in the morning light, "The sun reminds us to unplug from our electronics and reconnect with ourselves. I hang with the sun to fill myself with hope and energy. Come soak up some vitamin D to boost your immune system, clear your head, and lift your spirit. Just look how pretty it makes me!"

Shift fear to courage
With high tide, large waves rolled up onto the sand, bringing the ocean closer than usual. A chatty flock had already gathered at the water’s edge, ready to get squeaky clean.
As the waves splashed, they caught the early light, creating stunning works of art across the shore. When the sun rose, a big ball of golden light filled the air, bringing an expansive, heart-opening feeling.
Later, at the lagoon, I crossed paths with a local — a gorgeous bobcat.
He paused, looked my way and said, “I am a messenger of patience, vigilance, power, and intuition. I am here to remind you: you are stronger than you think. Trust the quiet wisdom whispering within you. Embrace change and you will find your strength. You got this!"

A powerful almost new moon
The minute I walked out my door and saw the waning moon and Venus bright in the sky, it took my breath away. It was both stunning and powerful. The new moon is just a few days away, the energy can be felt now, asking us to harness its power.
New moons carry the energy of fresh starts and new beginnings. This particular new moon invites us to see relationships through fresh eyes. The man in the moon whispered, “Be open to listening and speaking what is true as a way to build deeper connections.”
A chatty flock flew in, eager to get squeaky clean, as the big ball of golden light emerged on the horizon.
One of the gulls added, “This new moon is quite powerful. Take time to rest and restore with moments of quiet. Self-care is a vital part of navigating the energy of new beginnings.”

Even from behind the scenes your heart can make a difference
Mother Nature brought us a beautiful and invigorating start to the day with a churning ocean, wind and a very chatty flock.
The sky filled with fluffy pink and lavender clouds before the sun came up to greet the day. With seaweed starting to wash ashore, salty ocean scent filled the air. When the chatty flock flew in against the pretty in pink backdrop, I was surprised to see how many are still here!
One of them lifting up behind the flock with her wings and heart open said, “Even if you are behind the scenes and out of focus, your open heart can create a shift. Trust your open heart can send out ripples even if no one sees where they begin.”

Watch your thoughts
Ahhhhh... a peaceful, easy morning greeted me with soft clouds and a golden sunrise. A light, salty breeze moved through my lungs like a soothing balm as I watched the beauty unfold before me.
Surfers arrived from every direction, soaking in the sunrise while waiting for the perfect wave. A chatty flock of laughing gulls and a handful of herring gulls flew in, splashing and shaking out their feathers—getting squeaky clean for the day.
Our familiar lovebird couple strolled along the shore, side by side, chatting as they walked. Want to help me name the love birds?
Perched high on a sign that read “NO,” a crow stood tall, delivering today's message.“ I know I’m not everyone’s favorite bird,” he cawed, “but I am a powerful messenger. Watch your thoughts and honor your boundaries. If your mind drifts into negativity, say NO. STOP. And gently shift. Words are a powerful tool of manifestation.”

Flirt with life, savor your nuts and get squeaky clean
As my feet touched the sand at first light, the moon and Venus shimmered overhead, casting their glow across a soft pink-and-blue sky. The quiet settled around me like a gentle hug, instantly soothing.
The sun rose like a striped ball emerging from the ocean, bringing with it a comforting warmth and a hopeful.
So many messengers came to visit today. A herring gull, squeaky clean and radiant, fluffed its feathers and said, “Take a moment for self-care, as you can see, it helps me keep my wings and heart open which makes me feel happy.”
The laughing gull lovebirds, familiar from last week, offered a playful reminder, “Remember to flirt with life. Enjoy connection and daily simple pleasures.”
A squirrel added with a smile, “No matter how many nuts you have, savor the one you have in your hands.”
