Head first into the waves
Whoop Whoop! The sun is back for sunrise and what a beautiful golden glow it painted. The chatty gulls were already at the shore when I arrived.
While we waited for the sun, soft fluffy clouds soaked up the lavender and pink pre sunrise colors. Surfers came from every boardwalk to ride the big waves.
The gulls were extra chatty this morning. One of them ran into the waves for bath time. She said, “Sure the waves can seem daunting, but I recommend going straight in, let them wash over you. Like surfing, flow with the energy and see where the wave wants to take you.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Waiting on a wave
pulling old feathers can feel sticky
The morning started out hot and steamy, dark and cozy. I doubted the sunlight would make it thought the line of storm clouds but it did! The rain crept closer bringing a nice breeze and beautiful reflections.
The wildfire didn’t seem to mind the overcast skies. So many birds came for breakfast, breathing life energy onto the morning.
A royal tern with an ankle bracelet brings us the message today. She said, “Pulling out the old feathers can be a bit sticky at times. What I know for sure is, even if they are challenging to let go, it’s important to pull out the old and make room for the new.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Feel your way….easy does it…trust the timing
Mother Nature brought us a sultry sunrise with a huge layer of fluffy clouds keeping the morning dark and cozy. Eventually the sun came bringing us a hint of gold before it was absorbed by the clouds.
Overcast skies didn’t keep the flock from flying in for bath time. We enjoyed extended time in the water getting squeaky clean and chasing fish.
A snail on a sidewalk brings us the message today. He said, “I feel my way with my antennas. They are my super power letting me know when to retreat into my shell or if it’s safe to move along. I’m also the messenger of patience. Easy does it, trust in the timing. It’s all going to work out.”

Showing off your hidden parts
With fluffy clouds soaking up the colors and hiding the sun, the morning was dark and cozy feeling almost fall. Waves churned toward shore soaking up the orange glow once the sun made it above the clouds.
The large and chatty flock flew in early for an extended bath time. They chased tiny fish in the shallows squawking loudly.
After sunrise I met a mockingbird who was belting out a ballad. When she stopped a nearby woodpecker started singing too. If she hadn’t joined in, I might not have seen her.
She said, “Normally I am very driven, knocking and digging for snacks. Today I am taking time to care for myself. Checking under the wings for old feathers. You know the hard to reach places where bugs can hide. A little self care and I am ready to show off how beautiful I am, even in the hidden parts.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Read between the lines
Let the flow carry you
Yipppeeeeee! The sun was visible at sunrise bringing us a beautiful golden start to the day.
30 minutes before sunrise the flock was already int he water chasing fish and squawking like a loud alarm clock. The sky filled with soft cotton ball clouds ready to soak up the color show soon to arrive.
Slowly, the pastel colors emerged giving us a blue, pink and gold pre sunrise glow. As the sun came up, traffic on pelican Highway started jamming. They shared the sparkly highway with surfers coming from every nook and cranny to catch a wave.
Pelican Highway brings us the message of finding the sweet spot of flow. They said, “We enjoy gliding above the waves letting the energy carry us. You see, when we are in the flow with a wave, we relax our wings and enjoy being carried with ease.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Mullet on the right
Overcast….angels all around
It was dark and moody again today...Instead of more moody gray, I thought an angel cloud kind of day would be nice.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Trust the timing, support each other
Mother Nature brought us a sweet and soothing sunrise. The kind of sunrise that is so calm it helps calm the nervous system system. Beams of light jetted out from behind the cloud hiding the sun.
The chatty flock flew in when it was still dark, staying for an extended bath time until the sun was up. As they lifted up together with their wings and hearts one they said, “We are here to remind you to support each other in staying open.”
Golden waves rolled toward shore with the message of timing and momentum. “As we roll toward shore soaking up the sunlight we gain strength. When the timing is just right, we crest and merge with the ocean again. Trust the timing, everything is lining up, even if you can’t feel it yet.”
Wishing you a beuatiful day friends!
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Is it Luna the Osprey?
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Is it Luna the Osprey?
I met an osprey in 2018 who returns to New Smyrna Beach every winter. She usually stays for about 4 months spending her time on 2 boats. It wasn't until last year when she became more engaging and enjoyed photoshoots.
She looks a little different this year so I'm not 100% it's her, but she is hanging in her usual spots. As you can see, like most ospreys, she is very expressive. She had a hurt left foot last year, she still uses it gingerly but it is looking better.
What I have learned is female osprey have brown feathers around their neck and chest. I was told even the smallest amount of brown means it's a girl. Males have an all white chest and neck. Wondering if this is a Luna impersonator...
Stay tuned for more tales!

Tales from the Lagoon ~Episode - Family Day
A sweet maternity pod with a tiny calf came in and out of the lagoon all day while 2 males stayed, relaxing with the occasional zoomies. They were catching mullet in the shallows and as you can make beautiful art with the splash.
What I love about a maternity pod is the team effort. Momma has a pit crew to help raise the nugget. The baby came up close with his/her mouth open, then followed with a teeny tail slap. So darling!
Ocean and Whisper, the 2 males were extra friendly, enjoying a lot of connection with each other and the camera. Loads of video today, so stayed tuned for more tales!

Get close, let yourself be seen
Mother Nature brought us a reflective moody bluesy kind of sunrise. Cozy clouds and a soft breeze made the morning feel almost like fall.
The chatty flock of gulls flew in loud and ready to get squeaky clean. Two gulls kissing mid air bring us the message of connection. They said, “Stay open to sweet moments of connection that support each other.”
The wet sand reflected the ever changing clouds while Pelican Highway soared southbound on the horizon.
After sunrise I spent some time with 2 pelicans. One of the birds was really close when he spread his wings showing off his beauty up close and personal. He said, “Go ahead, get close and show off who you really are. Let your beautiful self be seen.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Immersed in the flock
It was fifty shades of grey with a hint of gold as the sun came up. Since it was dark, I decided to go with just a video today to start your day. Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Self care so you are ready to take off!
A sliver of the moon was high in the sky surrounded by large grey rain clouds as my feet hit the sand. As a brief rain started the chatty flock flew in ready to connect.
Eventually, the rain stopped, the sun rose, and two rainbows appeared in the sky. The same osprey from the other day with the rainbow flew at me to get my attention then landed on a boat nearby.
The osprey, new moon and rainbow got together bringing us the message today. They said, “New moons usher in fresh energy and new beginnings. Use this energy for self care so you are ready to take off when the timing is right. "
The new moon accompanied by 2 rainbows encourages you to keep the faith, endless possibilities await you.
The osprey said, "Not to worry, stay focused and ready to soar because things are unfolding to support you.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Let go of negativity and shine!
I walked to the beach in a downpour, seeing clear sky at the beach just across the street. The rain reminds us things are temporary….if you wait, change comes.
Some of the flock was already at our spot and more flew in just as the sun was coming up from behind the clouds. Mother Nature brought us another light streaming day, filling the air with a hopeful vibe.
The almost new moon was high in the blue sky dancing with the clouds brining us a message today. The moon said, “You may feel my energy 3 days before and and after I am new. This month I am situated in the sky assisting you in loving your flaws.”
Not to worry I you are feeling funky, I’m here to encourage more compassion for yourself. Like One Legger the gull, embrace your uniqueness. I’m nudging you to let go of any inner negativity and let yourself shine!”

Bite off more than you can chew
Ahhhh, The sunrise brought us a streaming light show. The clouds were less dramatic today but just as beautiful. A very large and chatty flock of gulls flew in early to get squeaky clean. They used the salty breeze to hang in place before heading into the ocean for a little splash time.
With the usual laughing gulls were several royal terns, ruddy turnstones and sandpipers all looking for breakfast and a quick bath.
The clouds hugged the sun as it came up to garret the day, sending out beams of white light filling the sky with a heart opening vibe.
After sunrise, Spot an egret, with a big fish for his size said, “Go ahead, bite off more than you can chew. Technically I can’t chew but you know what I mean. Step into your courage. Sure things can feel big and overwhelming, not to worry, take it slow and you’ll show yourself what you can accomplish. You got this!”

Soak up the promise of a new day
It was another awe inspiring sunrise with dramatic clouds, sunshine, rain and a rainbow! The flock flew in early for bath time while the clouds created all kinds of shapes on the horizon.
Rain streamed from the clouds in every direction. When the sun came up a massive cloud drifted over giving us a unique landscape.
With a light drizzle after sunrise, a beautiful full rainbow appeared. An osprey and the rainbow got together to bring us a much needed message. The very chatty osprey said, “If you feel like giving up, take a moment, stretch your wings and soak up the hope and promise of a new day.”
The rainbow reminds us anything is possible. “Sure things may be stormy now, but like Katy Perry sings, after the storm comes a rainbow. Clear skies and rainbows are coming your way.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Gratitude is a power tool
WOWZER! Mother Nature brought us another stunning cloud show to start the day. The color show started off pretty in pink morphing to a orange, gold and white glow as the sun came up from behind cloud city.
Pelican Highway flew through the light on the horizon adding to the beauty. A chatty flock arrived loud and proud ready for a splashing good time.
The message today comes from the heart expanding beauty. Mother Nature said, “If you re feeling stressed or tired, spend a few moments in nature feeling your feet on the ground. Beauty has a way of helping us be present and shifting to gratitude. Gratitude is a power tool helping us stay open hearted.”
Wishing you a day filled with beauty!

See the wonder all around
Mother Nature transported us to another world again today with spectacular clouds accompanied by heart opening reflections.
A very chatty flock flew in early to get squeaky clean. By the time bath time was over hundreds of plucked feathers were covering the sand as they made room for new growth.
The flock said, “Sometimes it is painful to pluck the old feathers and it leaves a hole for bit before the new feather grows in, but the new feathers always make us feel better!”
The clouds bring us the message of using your imagination. They said, “Let your mind open to seeing life in a novel way. Let all yourself sense the wonder in every day life.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Seize the moment!
With clouds and reflections, Mother Nature transported us to another world with the dramatic beauty. A chatty flock flew in early ready to get squeaky clean.
When the sun came up, a face formed in the clouds with gold eyes. A great day for the cloud game for sure!
Royal terns and skimmers joined the flock of laughing gulls. A royal tern couple was having an intense conversation, well, one of them was doing all the talking. Made me think of the episode from Seinfeld with the close talker.
Pelican Highway was jamming! One of the pelicans veered off the highway to grab fast food. He said, “To thrive as a bird we have to be open to spontaneous and quick decisions, go ahead, seize the moment! I recommend being open to following your instincts to swoop in and grab your goal on the fly. You never know what you might catch.”

A couple days ago I got to spend time with Momma D and Baby Squirt along with 5 other mommas and their kiddos. I met Squirt May 25, his/her momma has a dent on her fluke with is how she got the name Momma D.
The little ones were doing such a great job keeping up with the moms as they chased fish. After fishing they enjoyed lots of cuddles and hang time. Never gets old seeing the little ones.
Stay tuned for more tales!
