Let your soul sing!

Mother Nature brought us another serene yet powerful sunrise with the full moon moving toward setting for the day when the sun came up big and bright.

Before sunrise the flock of laughing gulls and few herring gulls flew in with a gorges pink sky as their background. They stayed to dance around the sun and get a much needed bath.

Dolphins fished offshore, while skimmers headed northbound and Pelican Highway traffic flowed southbound over the waves.

After the gorgeous sunrise I heard 2 woodpeckers on the same tree and a mockingbird on the tree next to them. They bring us a combo message today.

Double the woodpeckers means they really wanted to share that opportunity is knocking. As she poked at the old parts of the tree she said, “Look at the ‘old stuff’ to see if it time to bring it back or let it go.”

The mocking bird chirped, “I’m the messenger of finding your authentic song, how can you express yourself fully?” “I recommend listening to the woodpecker. You see, as you poke away at the old, you can really start belting out your soul’s song with nothing holding you back.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Full Moon Lagoon Party

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Full Moon Lagoon Party

Yesterday was the first time in a few weeks I saw a large group of dolphins.  Several pods were in and out at different times.  Usually when we have a full moon they like to party and yesterday was one of those days.  The play came in spurts over several hours.  They also enjoyed just hanging out relaxing in the current.

You’ll see the dolphin that is just slightly popped up has a little red scratch. Those are called rake marks.  Dolphins use their teeth when they are being aggressing but also when engaging in amorous activity leaving rake marks.

This dolphin with the fresh rake mark was enjoying quite a bit of snuggles and hugs in a group with other dolphin of all ages.  They all rolled around being very playful off and on throughout the day.  To give you an idea of  playful teeth behavior, check out the last photo, it isn’t from today but it shows a dolphin playfully using his/her teeth on the other dolphin.

Stay tuned for more tales!

A new viewpoint brings new light

The full moon set just a few minutes before the sunrise bringing us an influential and beautiful start to the day.  The chatty flock flew in just in time to dance around the sun.

Full moons are a time of completion and letting go. The man in the moon said, “I am here to assist in liberating you from limiting patterns and beliefs. Now is the time to let go of the anchor energy in your life so you can soar like the gulls.”

While watching the sunrise one of the gulls, Bob, was chatting on the top of a sunrise walker.  He said, “I find I get a different perspective when I look at life through the eyes of someone else.”

“I highly recommend trying a new viewpoint to see things in a different light. And it’s fun to share the sunrise together.”

Let your soul’s purpose unfold

The almost full moon was setting over the serene river about 40 minutes before sunrise adding to the powerful energy this morning. When I reached the beach, the flock was already there chatting amongst each other.

One of the laughing gulls was taste testing a cannonball jellyfish. She said, “Go ahead try new things, you never know what changes it might bring.”

The waves were loud, rolling toward shore with the wind blowing the tops into the air, mixing salt with a light layer of fog. As the sun came up it kissed the ocean goodbye while the flock danced around the big ball of light.

This full moon packs a punch, anyone else feeling it? It is assisting us in letting go of anything in the way of our deepest desires, all the way to our depth of our soul. Yes, that powerful!

The moon said, “I am situated in the sky around other planets that may bring your emotions to the surface. Use my energy to feel and let go. Follow the lead of the gulls, lift up your heart and let all the loose feathers fall away. Not to worry, new feathers supporting your soul's purpose will fill the void.”

Pay attention, set your intentions and ask for help

30 minutes before the sunrise, the sky was almost black and white as the flock and I waited for the sun to come upend greet the day.

As the sun approached the edge of the clouds on the horizon it formed a golden lining, just before popping up.  Once up the sky filled with a. Golden glow bringing with it much needed warmth.

We have lots of message today, starting with two laughing gulls on a pole.  They said, “We are here to remind you to know when to hold on and when to let go.  Like Kenny Rogers sang, “Know when to hold em, know when to fold em.”  Listen to your instincts to guide with your decision.

On the way off the beach I ran into a loud wood pecker and a male cardinal.  The wood pecker said, “Pay attention, opportunity and change is coming. Be prepared to seize the moment and knock out the details when the time is right.”

The male cardinal was calling out to his partner who was answering in the stance.  He said, “I am letting my intentions be known.  Be clear about what you want to attract what your heart desires. I am also the messenger that your Spirit Loved Ones are near and happy to support you, just ask.”

Be curious

Brrrrrrrr, with wind from the north the morning was chilly.  Mother Nature repeated the beauty from yesterday adding a little more pink to the color palette.

The chatty flock of laughing gulls, herring gulls and ring bills flew in early to watch the sunrise together.  Despite the water temperature being chilly, they insisted on taking time for self care.

They said, “We know it isn’t always convenient to take time for hygiene but it is so important to keep us healthy and strong. “

After bath time one of the ring bill gulls and I had a chat.  He said, “Be curious.  Listen in a new way, you might hear something new or from a different perspective. Just the slightest shift in how you look at something can create a big change.”

sweet connections

Yipppeeeeee!  The sun is back and shining bright.  The flock flew in at first light and used the wind to stay in place, dancing around the sun when it came up.

Tiger the Heermann’s gulll was in the flock too!  I haven’t seen him since February 5 so this was quite a treat.  If you are just tuning in, Tiger is a celebrity bird who visits New Smyrna beach from Baja California.

He brings us the message of connections being fluid.  He said,  “Be open to sweet connections coming and going and popping up when you least expect it.”

2 One Leggers were together in the flock.  They said, “We encourage finding like minded flock mates to give you a sense of belonging.  We ‘get’ each other which is a priceless form of support.”

Wind blew the tops of the waves sending sparkles into the air that I call Florida snow.  It was lovely and doesn’t need a shovel, the best kind of snow!

Wishing you a sunny day friends!

Channel the baby turtle to give you strength

Still raining….I thought I’d share a few baby turtle photos from last summer to kick start your Monday. These little nuggets are just a few hours old.

In the first few hours of life they make their way out of the nest and to the ocean where they still have approximately 50 miles to swim to reach the sargassum grasses where they can rest.

The grate you see is put in place by the Turtle Trackers to keep coyotes and other wildlife from eating the eggs. Not to worry, the babies can navigate the grate with ease.

If your Monday feels overwhelming, channel the baby turtle strength and perseverance to get you through.

Click the link to see a video of this nest emerging and making their way to the ocean.

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Happy Anniversary~ February 17

It's an overcast rainy day....so sharing my anniversary story.

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Happy Anniversary~ February 17

I can’t believe it has been 6 years since my first time in the water with the dolphin. The night before my first dolphin photo, I was on my paddle board at sunset. When I feel unsure what to do with my life I ask, “Show me what’s next.” I sat on my board watching the sun go down asking for guidance. That night, I had a dream I was photographing orcas while in the water at sunset.

In the dream, the camera was half in the water, half out. It was so real and captivating, I wanted to try. I wasn't ready to get in the water with orcas but knew dolphin were in the Indian River where I lived so I started there.

That night I hopped in the water a little nervous since it was sunset and I live in the shark bite capital of the world. I stayed close to shore just in case. People on the dock looked at me a bit strange and I admit, I agreed with them.

The minute I saw a dolphin, I relaxed and enjoyed the show including making beautiful art with their tails and grabbing dinner. The experience hooked me. I couldn't wait to get back in the next day.

6 years later, I am in awe of what has unfolded, the connections with dolphins, meeting their babies and watching their friendships unfold along with manatees, pelicans and other wildlife has been a wild ride.

I'm truly grateful for the journey and look forward to what comes next. Thank you for your support and connections! I'm truly grateful.

Stay tuned for more tales!

START WITH A WALK, THEN RUN THEN TAKE FLIGHT

Holy romantic sunrise Batman!  Mother Nature brought us another heart expanding start to the day with fluffy clouds along with a pink, orange and gold color palette.  With low tide, the beautiful painting reflected on the wet sand giving us double the pleasure.

Loads of gulls flew in to enjoy the sunrise. Skimmers grabbed breakfast between the waves while the gulls got squeaky clean in the golden glow.

A flock of mergansers and a solo dolphin were in the lagoon after sunrise.  The mergansers return every year at this time and hang out for a couple months.  They are a type of duck and bring us the message today.

They said, “Us ducks know when to paddle around and when to take flight. If you are a little nervous about taking flight, follow our lead.  We start like we are walking, then running while flapping our wings to take off.”

“It’s a process, so be gentle with yourself, you’ll be soaring before you know it.  And we highly recommend taking flight with a flock mate, it’s fun to share the experience.”

Rest and recharge to regenerate

WOW!  The pre sunrise sky was another masterpiece this morning.  40 minutes before sunrise the clouds soaked up a sultry lavender glow with just a hint of ambers glowing below.  The blaze grew the closer we got to sunrise until it was an intense fire engine red.

The chatty flock flew in just as the sun came up looking for connection before bath time.

As we headed to the water to get squeaky clean I saw a starfish.

The starfish brings the message of the day.  She said, I am a reminder to use all your  heart and other instincts to know what to do next.  I highly recommend feeling your way, your heart is highly tuned guiding you every step of the way.”

“I am also a messenger of regeneration. Take time to recharge and restore balance, this will help you feel clear about what your heart truly desires.”

Support comes in many forms

WOWIE!  The sunrise was truly breathtaking with fluffy clouds soaking up an array of colors starting with a dark purple shifting through the entire crayon box ending up with a golden glow.

The masterpiece reflecting on the wet sand added to the amazing beauty.  As I was immersed in the flock of gulls they lifted up with their hearts and wings open with a whoosh of energy.  They remind us to stay open no matter what the circumstances.

Perfect waves rolled toward shore as the wind blew the white tops into the air.  At one point the wind looked like it created a wispy angel in the clouds.  What a magical morning for sure!

A couple pelicans feeding close to shore were joined by a couple gulls.  They bring us the message of support. They said, “Support comes I many forms to aid in carrying us forward and it’s not always in the way we expect.”

Wishing you a beautiful day feeling supported, surrounded by beauty.

Follow the flow of energy

Fluffy clouds soaking up the color drifted quickly across the sky as my feet hit the sand.  Pink and gold came together to give us a bronze colored romantic sky.

The flock flew in hot with wings and hearts open ready to say hello.  One flew in close ready for a smooch.  They danced around the sun when it came up before heading to the water for bath time.

Pelican Highway was flowing with ease over the large copper waves.  They bring the message of using the flow of the waves to carry you forward.  They said, “If you feel stuck, just wait for the next wave and allow the current to carry you to your destination. Not to worry, lulls are part of the journey.”

Wishing you a beautiful day in the flow friends!

Dig deep to find your treasure

With a cloud wall on the horizon, and a layer of fog, the light was a shimmery silver before the sun came up bringing a warmth and a golden streaming light.

The chatty flock flew in for bath time and connection. One of the gulls getting squeaky clean said, “After I get a bath I want to put my wings back and lead with my heart. It’s good to feel clean and fluffy.”

After sunrise, just as I was wondering who the messenger was, a flock of Ibis was feeding in the grass.

They said, “We highly recommend digging deep to grab your goal. We dig in lots of locations, we don’t mind muddy water or grass because we find treasures everywhere, some expected, some surprising. Be open to finding unexpected riches when you dig deep.”

Wishing you an abundant day friends!

Be the Authority in your life

Ahhhhh, with a layer of salty fog the morning was hazy with a dreamy quality.  Before the sun came up the sky filled with a pink glow switching to an intense golden orange glow.

Pelican Highway was light but skimmer traffic was jamming heading northbound on the highway.

The chatty flock flew in just in time to dance around the sun as if celebrating the return of the big ball of light.  While we got a bath, a small shark was looking for breakfast in the shallows.

The shark said, “I’m here to remind you to stay focused, be clear about what you want and keep kicking it forward.  Remember to be the authority in your life, focus on your strengths, let the waves wash over you with ease.  You got this!”

Self care to boost your immune system

With heavy fog and clouds the morning was cozy with an ethereal vibe.  The chatty flock flew in at their usual time to watch the sunrise.  Waves were large, churning toward shore with a shimmery light glowing off the surface.

One of the gulls looks like he has a hair on his head instead of feathers.  I knew a gull like this who had an oil gland production issue.

Today, this gull said, “Winter can be challenging for us birds so self care is essential to stay healthy. Bathing everyday can boost our immune system and I need all the help I can get so I am getting squeaky clean.”

After sunrise a mom and baby dolphin came in to say hello.  The baby was feeling very playful and silly with her momma.  She was rolling around and popping up with pure joy.  She reminds us to be spontaneous with play, it makes everything feel better.”

Let the old feathers go!

The pre sunrise started off quiet with a layer of cozy clouds accompanied by a  sweet lavender color show.  Just like life the energy switched to frenetic and a bit chaotic.  The water was rolling in passed the poles that it normally doesn’t reach unless we have a king tide.

A ring billed gull came right up for a photo op while a herring gull stayed on a pole with a single feather sticking out.

The herring gull said, “Do you ever have that feeling you know you need to pull out an old feature to make room for the new but you can’t quite reach it?  It nags and draws your attention?  Well, I totally understand that feeling.”

“I’m here to remind you stay on it, give yourself a good shake, make little changes until you can make the shift.  It’s worth it, and wow does it feel better making room for the new.  You’ll thank yourself for letting go.”

Sunrise was cut short when I saw a loon being thrashed around by the ocean waves like a rag doll.  Wrapped in my sweatshirt, I put the loon in the river where she could rest.  They get exhausted from their commute and with a churning ocean she wasn’t getting any rest.  She brings the message.  She said when she got to the calm river, “I’m a messenger that the touch waters will end soon and you find yourself floating in tranquility.  Hang in there!”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
