Let go to make room for new

Ahhhh, A lovely and sweet morning with a light breeze and calm ocean. The morning started with a pretty in pink color show in the sky and reflecting on the wet sand. Pelican Highway traffic was heavy flying southbound.

The almost new moon was on the horizon near Venus. Venus was named after the Goddess of Love and is called the lesser benefit. Jupiter is called the greater benefit. Planet Venus brings us kisses of love, pleasure and success.

Venus and the almost new moon together bring us a powerful message of letting go of old baggage to make room for new love, abundance, pleasure and beauty.

The flock of seagulls and a couple willets flew in for bath time. Willy the willet said, “I’m here to remind you when times feel tough, stand tall and keep stepping forward, one foot at a time. You got this!”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the lagoon - Pip the Pelican and Dolphins catch fish

Tales from the Lagoon ~. Episode - Pip the Pelican and the Dolphins catch Fish

It’s a slow time of year for the dolphins so I was excited to capture a little action this past week. The dolphin I call Whisper and Charley have visited the most.

They seem like best friends enjoying each others company, just chillin’ or rolling around with each other, grabbing a few snacks.

Pip the Pelican was gone for 5 days but when he came back looking good he was showing off his ability to grab the teeny fish. He said, “You gotta get low, then lunge into the school of fish. Once you get them in your pouch you gotta close your beak fast or the slippery suckers sneak out.”

He said, “Thank you for the love and support! I appreciate all of you!”

Stay tuned for more tales!

Be gentle as you go within

Mother Nature brought us a dark and romantic feeling sunrise. With a calm ocean and lack of breeze the stillness was palpable. So many birds today! Pelican Highway was jamming at first light. The flock of seagulls was fiesta, breaking into several high speed chases.

A couple of egrets were pruning and enjoying snacks close to the water. Egrets can be grumpy and territorial but these two were quite sweet with each other. They said, “We know when to fight for our space and when to just be with each other. We are here to remind you know when to fight for what you want and when to just relax and be.”

You may already feel the energy of the almost new moon a few days away. This particular new moon may feel like it is asking us to go within and let go of any baggage we no longer need in order to have a fresh start. This moon asks us to be gentle rather than critical with ourselves.

The surfer encourages us to look for the channel markers as we catch the waves taking us forward.

Wishing you a day filled with compassion!

Keep pecking away

Mother Nature brought us an other worldly kind of sunrise with deep intense colors well before sunrise. The ocean and breeze were calm adding to the peaceful easy feeling to start the work week.

The flock of seagulls flew in hot and chatty when it was still dark. They enjoyed bath time and breakfast at the same time.

Little fish were swimming in large schools calling to the birds, sharks and dolphins who all came to partake in the sushi buffet.

After sunrise I ran into a woodpecker who was also having breakfast. He brings the message saying, “I’m a messenger that hangs is happening, some are small others are big. Keep pecking away at what your heart desires because opportunities are all around. Stay present, ready to seize the moment, enjoying the journey!”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Say how you feel to your flock

Mother Nature used her soft and swirly paintbrush giving us sweet clouds soaking up the wide array of colors. A light breeze and calm ocean added to the serenity vibe.

A rowdy flock of seagulls flew in with a couple royal terns to greet the day and enjoy getting squeaky clean. Royal terns are birds with a lot of personality who love to talk and talk and talk.

One chatty tern couple said, “We bring the message of saying how you feel to your loved ones. It’s always nice to know how your flock feels. We know sharing how you feel can feel vulnerable so we are here to remind you how it brings closeness that will make your heart happy.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

A message from Spot the Egret

Hi everyone! My name is Spot. I'm an egret and was named by my Pelican friend Pip for the spots on my toes. Shelley is off floating people so can’t photograph the sunrise today. She asked me to keep an eye on her camera and keep a look out for Pip.

If you are just tuning in, I met Shelley with Pip the Pelican back in March. I’m a very smart bird and knew if Shelley was helping a sick pelican, I could get in on that loving. The 3 of us are like the 3 musketeers.

Oh and then there is Mikey the great egret. Well, he’s ok but great? I don’t know how he get that name, I’m an egret and I’m pretty great, just a little smaller, I should be called great too, don't you think?

Anywho, Shelley said she will be posting later today and if you haven’t seen her Youtube channel she has videos of Pip, the dolphins and other characters from the Lagoon.

I like the video called Close up Sushi party, it shows a dolphin coming straight at the camera with a fish! I had fish envy that day.

Ok, I'm off to hunt breakfast, Stay tuned!

Rest into the uncertainty

As I walked to the beach I could see the pink ray of light jetting into the sky. The ocean was calm with perfectly formed waves rolling toward shore calling to the surfers and Pelican Highway.

The calm of the morning set the tone for a peaceful, easy vibe which my body matched the minute my feet hit the sand. Surfers were catching waves before the sun came up.

They bring the message of enjoying the lull between waves. When the energy feels flat, resting into the quiet uncertainty is a nice way to savor the moment.

An egret dancing in the waves grabbing breakfast added to the message saying, “Waiting is part of the journey. Not to worry, you will know when to leap froward and take action.”

Wishing you beautiful day friends!

take action and trust the journey

Mother Nature brought us a serene sunrise with a calm ocean and slight breeze. The color show started off with pretty in pink and slowly morphed into a sultry cabernet then finally into an intense golden glow.

The flock of seagulls flew in early with their wings open, feeling chatty. The fish were jumping before the sunrise came up which got the seagulls attention. Surprisingly Pelican Highway didn't stop to join in the buffet.

The fish and seagulls bring us the message of resourcefulness today. It looked like sharks were chasing the fish under the water. The seagulls hovered above the fish waiting for them to jump out of the water. If the gulls dipped down into the water, they were smart enough not to leave their legs dangling to avoid getting bit.

They said, “Us seagulls are very creative. We know how to make the most of situations whether we are sitting on a pelican or letting the sharks brings us the fish. We encourage you to let the situation support you reaching your goal. Relax, follow your heart and trust your fish will show up for you.”

The fish said,”We sure had to trust our instincts today. We had choices to swim away from the sharks or jump into the air where the birds were. Sometimes our options feel scary, so we go with our intuition, take action in the way that feel best, and trust the journey.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

USE ALL RESOURCES AT YOUR disposal

I couldn’t drag myself away from the epic sushi party this morning. The ocean was flat like a lake making it easy to see the fish fleeing from the sharks. It wasn’t long before Pelican Highway and the flock of seagulls came to join in the breakfast buffet.

The seagulls were landing on the seagulls to get the perfect spot to grab fish from the water and the pelican gullet. They bring us the message of being resourceful. They said, “We know the power of using everything at our disposal to reach out goal.”

The pelicans were rapid fire diving grabbing the little fish and large ones too. They said, “We believe in committing to our goal. Take a deep breath and dive in. Stay committed to your hearts desires. You see, we don’t always catch our fish but we know if we keep trying eventually we are successful.”

Wishing you a bountiful day friends!

Kick it to move forward

AHHHHH, another serene sunrise with a light breeze and calm ocean. Soft pink filled the sky as I walked to the beach. The waves were perfect as they rolled toward shore soaking up the rainbow of colors.

Lots of other characters were playing in the waves today, including a couple little sharks, Pelican Highway and a solo manatee. The manatee swimming along the shore in the waves brings the message of slowing down and allowing yourself to swim through your emotions. Treat yourself with compassion and tenderness as you navigate the waves.

The shark added to the message saying, “I’m here to encourage using your sensitivity and intuition to know what you need. Not to worry, you are stronger than you know!”

Both the manatee and shark said, “We both can use our tails to kick forward if we need to get away quickly, reminding you to take action when you feel inspired. Trust you will know when to kick it.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Letting go leads to expansion

Pink rays of light jetted into the sky before sunrise filling the air with hope and excitement for a new day. The salty breeze was light and slightly cool feeling refreshing.

As I walked to the beach Jupiter appeared to be having a conversation with the moon high in the sky while Venus soaked up the pink rays of light over the ocean.

We are just a few days past the full moon bringing the energy of endings and completions while Jupiter brings luck and expansion, the two together remind us how letting go makes space for the new.

Jupiter brings the energy of optimism, hope and generosity. It helps to expand anything it touches. Being next to the full moon it brings a boost to let go of what no longer serves us. As we let go, our life can grow in unexpended ways.

The flock of seagulls flew in hot and chatty before the sun came up. Just before the sunrise they broke into a high speed chase over a fish. They ended up in the waves getting tossed like wet rags but thankfully they all made it out.

The gull with the fish flew by the camera celebrating his win. He said, “Don’t be afraid to celebrate! All wins, big or small are worth acknowledging.”

Wishing you an expansive day!

Look for guideposts to guide you

Mother Nature brought us an ever changing sunrise making it difficult to choose just a few photos this morning. The breeze and water are surprisingly cool for August. The chatty flock of seagulls flew in with wings and hearts open before sunrise.

The waves were perfect soaking up the golden light. The waves and channel markers bringing us the message of looking for the guide posts along the way and allow the weaves of energy to carry you forward. Not to worry, you will always find your way.

Pelican Highway was flying southbound on the horizon as the sun came up to greet the day. After sunrise 3 egrets and the flock stayed to grab snacks and grab a bath.

A solo egret added to the message this morning saying, “I use my skinny legs to be grounded and present, ready to take off. I recommend slowing it down to stay focused so you are prepared to take action when you feel inspired.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Loosen your grip to feel sturdier

With rain over night and the storm system still having around Mother Nature brought us a moody blues sunrise. The temperature was cool with a nice breeze. The flock of seagulls flew in before sunrise when it was still dark for our usual bath time.

The ocean temperature is also cool for this time of year. Waves rolled in catching the shimmery soft light. The full moon was high in the sky enveloped in cozy clouds. When a gold light beam emerged from the wall of clouds the vibe of the morning changed to light and full of promise.

Mikey the great egret and Danika the dolphin bring us the message of the day. Danika and I haven’t seen each other in several weeks. When she came in the lagoon, she came flying over to say hello, bringing the message of sweet connections to help us feel better. She said “Even if your connections are brief, soak up the energetic exchange to feed your soul.”

Mikey said, “The energy of the full moon can be a bit intense. I highly recommend staying focused on your goal and most importantly, relax your grip. It might sound like the opposite thing to do, but the more you center yourself and loosen your hold, the sturdier you will feel.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends !

Break through limitations

Mother Nature brought us a cozy sunrise with fluffy clouds hugging the shoreline. First light was a sultry purple with silver light peeking through. Eventually an intense pink glow filled the sky but only for a few moments before dissipating.

The last supermoon of the year came out from behind the clouds for a moment to bring us the message of the day. This full moon is situated in the part of the sky that is asking us to break through boundaries or limitations holding us back. It encourages us to be courageous! Go ahead color outside the lines and see what manifests.

The flock of seagulls was chatty and so cute this morning. While having a quick bath, one of the seagulls said, “Sometimes full moons can feel intense, so make sure you enjoy play time and a good bath to let the stress go. Use the energy of this moon to bring out your inner unicorn, embracing your unique and beautiful essence.”

Wishing you magical day friends!

Open heart gives us meaning

WOWIE! A mixture of Sahara dust and fog gave us a dark and cozy copper sunrise. The gorgeous landscape used the wet sand giving us double the beauty. Salty moisture filled my lungs.

The flock of seagulls flew in to enjoy the sunrise feeling frisky as usual. As they lifted up in front of the sun, one of the seagulls said, “Keep you wings back and heart open even when it seems like too much. She said, You see open hearts give us meaning even when things seem overwhelming.”

A surfer in front of the huge sun stopped to take in the moment bringing us the message to stop and enjoy the moment. Time out of the fray can help restore our internal battery, shifting our mood.

Each moment brings opportunity

A heavy layer of fog enveloped the shore giving us a cozy sunrise to start the day. The pre sunrise was almost black and white swishing to a muted gold and pink when the sun came up to greet the the day.

The fog and sun bring us the message that the light always burns through the fog if you give it time. Not to worry, your visibility will improve.

The chatty flock of seagulls flew in early for bath time. Pelican Highway traffic was heavy flying southbound.

A dove flew by looking right at the camera saying she wanted to share the message today. “I bring the message of taking a few deep breaths, surrender and relax. Allow the wind to carry and support you."

"Spread your wings and let yourself soar. If you feel stuck, remember everyday and each moment brings the opportunity for new beginnings.”

Wishing you a peaceful day friends!

Fall deeper in love with yourself

Ahhhh, a reflective sunrise with a ceiling of fluffy clouds soaking up the light. The pre sunrise color show started off purple then switched to pink and finally a golden glow.

Perfect waves rolled toward shore calling all surfers and pelicans highway to come take a ride. A lovely, salty breeze gave us a refreshing vibe to the morning.

The flock of seagulls flew in early and stayed for bath time. I had the pleasure of sitting with them for a long while listening to their conversations.

They brings us the message of self care today. One of the gulls looking at his reflection said, “I recommend falling deeper in love with your reflection, not in the self absorbed kind of way but in the way where you experience a deep compassion for all of you. You see self love is a super power that attracts more love and abundance to you.”

He also said, “If you are confused, try looking at things from a different vantage point. Sometimes a new angle gives clarity.”

Another gull was playing with the seaweed saying, “Eat more veggies. A healthy diet will help you think clearly and help you feel healthier too!”

Pip gives and update and introduces Violet

Hi Everyone, it’s me Pip the Pelican.  If you are just tuning in, my journey with my Hooman friend Shelley started 138 days ago but who’s counting.  She and some other nice Hoomans took a filleted sheepshead out of my gullet, saving my life.

In the past few months I’ve had many adventures like flying home from rehab 76 miles away.  I’ve met lots of nice dolphin friends like Momma Jade who occasionally tosses me a fish.

Like most, I’ve had really good days and some not so good days.

Recently, I’ve had more good days then bad and am starting to spend time away from my bestie Hooman friend.  Today I visited for a few minutes then left to rejoin my flock of pelican friends.  I know the made Shelley very happy.

Violet is my mature pelican friend.  Mature….well that just means she is older in age but I wouldn’t call her mature. She tries to get between shelley and me and I don’t like it.  We have a love hate relationship. We hang out a lot, she has shown me how to catch fish.  She is a fierce fisher girl and doesn’t mind getting in the pelican and dolphin mosh pit. That’s probably how she got a little beat up.

She has had some rough times.  She is missing part of her webbing on her left foot and is healing her pouch and chest from a pelican cutting her with their beak.  I sometimes get frustrated with her and grab her neck with my beak but I have never hurt her, I’m just letting her know how I feel.

Stay tuned for more tales!

That’s me Pip! I go by Puppy too

Introducing Violet

A reflective Violet

That’s Violet being fierce! You can see her webbing is missing a piece on her left foot.

Momma Jade, the dolphin

That's me, Pip behind Violet. You probably can't tell but I'm giving Violet the stink eye for getting up close with MY Hooman.

Healing takes time

Mother Nature brought us a unique color show mixing all the crayons together to get an exquisite artful display. The wet sand reflected back the beautiful sky giving us a heart opening expansive feeling to the day.

The soft breeze was blowing while the ocean churned. The sweet flock of seagulls flew in to share bath time and some much needed self care time.

After sunrise I ran into a female osprey grooming at the docks. She was holding her foot up so when she looked at me I said, “Show me your foot.” She lifted her foot, showing the red boo boo.

She said, “Many of us have boo boo’s. Some you can see, others are hidden from the naked eye."

“Having a compassionate friend to share it with helps me feel supported. My recipe for healing is daily self care, rest, and patience is how I’ll heal. I just relax on my pole and give myself time to recover."

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

When she looked at me I said, “Show me your foot.”
