TGIF And Rainy day Turtle photos

We are having a gray start to the day with possible rain this weekend so thought I'd share Momma turtle. This was one of the most powerful experiences I have had with my camera.

She was a majestic, powerful and beautiful Being. When we made eye contact I felt overwhelmed with love. Meeting her was truly an honor.

The dolphin photos are from my TGIF post, sharing some fun for the weekend. This dolphin is Maximus who recovered from a pretty large shark bite.

Wishing you a day filled with sweet connections.

Loosen your grip to feel more steady

Wow! Mother Nature started with a pre sunrise color blast to take your breath away. An intense pink filled the sky 40 minutes before the sun came up to greet the day. When the sun came up the color show turned to a copper glow.

Pelican Highway traffic was jamming southbound stopping often to grab snacks at all the rest stops. A small flock of seagulls showed up for a few minutes before moving on.

Our messenger today is Spot the egret, named by Pip the Pelican for the 3 spots on his toes. Spot was hanging out on the mangroves with a loose grip on the branch.

He said, “I’m here to encourage loosening your grip. Us egrets know we can feel more stable and secure on a skinny branch if we don’t hold on too tight.”

“Here is my secret, take a deep breath, relax your wings, then loosen your grip. Ah, that's it! Your body will appreciate releasing the tension. Trust yourself, you go this!”

Have a beautiful day friends!

Open hearts are contagious, Inspire others with yours

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood. The morning started with huge fluffy gray clouds with a hint of pink. As the sun came ups golden, orange glow jetting into the sky causing the gray to dissipate.

The flock of seagulls is still here, chatty and super cute. A few of them lifted up with their wings and hearts open saying, “Even when things feel gray, we recommend keeping your wings open. Open hearts are contagious, you can inspire others with your oepn heart by spreading your wings.”

I was surprised to see a couple skimmers and a royal tern too! One of the skimmers seemed to be smitten with a seagull. They spent a lot of time together just looking at each other.

They said,”We bring the message of embracing our differences. We know the power of expressing love with words and also with our eyes. Let your eyes share your love.”

Wishing you a beautiful ay filled with love.

Staying open even when things seem grey

Open hearts and wings inspiring others

I love you. (Seagull and a skimmer)

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Tales from Pip the Pelican

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Tales from Pip the Pelican

Reacap of previous episodes:

March 23 I was on the beach with a filleted sheepshead stuck in my gullet. 3 Hoomans rescued me from the beach and took the fish out. It took 7 days for me to fly again. Lucky for me the hoomans took care of me since the hospital was closed. I did pretty good until May 9th. I was sick again and alI I could do was sit on the beach and poop.

Shelley found a place in S.t Augustine for me. They took good care of me, but I was homesick. So when I was free, on May 18th, I flew 75 miles to get home. I was pooped and rested for a week.

Latest Update:

Since returning home, I’ve had a big 8 days since I spoke with you last. A bird lady looked at my hurt left leg and told me I had an “Impact Injury.” When she touched my leg it felt like I had bubbles in in it, which felt really weird. She said I probably landed wrong and I should rest. I followed doctors order and I rested 5-6 hours a day on my pole for 4 days.

The rest did me a world of good because I had my best week since the pokey fish ordeal!

I have so many things to tell you!

I recently started to spend more time with my bird friends. Mikey the great egret, spot the little egret and Violet my pelican friend. Well, actually Violet is older, a mature female and has a little crush on me. She’s a pretty bird, fierce and strong, and pretty, did I mention that? Spot has 3 dots on 3 toes that’s how I came up with his name.

Violet said she thinks I’m handsome and wants to date me. Shelley said, “Dating in the bird world is called mating.” She said she would explain that to me when I am a little older. Guess because I’m still immature and all. Shelley calls me a puppy. I don’t know what all that means but Violet is very nice to me and we enjoy our time together. She’s pretty.

Lots of Hoomans know me now. I have several names; Pippa, Pipster, Pip, Pippin, Puppy and Nugget.

I’m feeling stronger and don’t have to spend as much time on my pole. After sunrise I visit Shelley for a few minutes to let her know I am ok. I sleep in different places at night with my pelican friends. Then in the afternoon I visit again and hang out with the other pelicans and dolphins in the lagoon, enjoying time with my hooman bestie.

I have a tiny new boo boo on my beak but it’s healing too! Shelley said, ‘You’re a good healer!”

On May 31, after sunrise Shelley saw me diving with other pelicans for the first time since before the pokey fish! I was across the river with friends diving when I heard Shelley cheer. This was exciting for both of us!

I’m also taking time to bathe and get the bugs off. Oh, how nice it is to have the energy to flap around in the warm water and rub my head with my wings. Ahhh, be gone bugs! You see, if a bird has bugs that means we don’t feel good. So for me to be bug free is another great sign of my progress.

Stay tuned for more Tales from Pip!

Be present and dive in!

A lovely golden pink hue filled the sky before sunrise. The light and ocean water came together to create artful textures on the sand. A cloud shaped flying Aladdin on the horizon was warming his belly with the sun as it came up to greet the day.

With whipping wind the wildlife were feeling extra frisky. The flock was already at the spot when I reached the water. We have a theme of action today from all the wildlife.

The seagulls and pelicans were rapid fire diving for snacks. They bring the message of taking action. They said, “Go ahead dive in! Take a deep breath and leap. It’s ok if you don’t catch your goal, the act of diving in all part of the journey.”

After sunrise, an adorable bunny was snacking on wild flowers. She was very sweet and stayed for a long while to chat and pose for a few photos. She said, “I’m very sensitive to my surroundings which helps me know when to hop along. I’m here to remind you to be present in the moment so you are ready to take action.”

“I’m also the messenger of fertility and abundance. Now is the time embraces any gifts of fertility, desire, and creativity. Go ahead, explore your heart’s desire for creativity and see what unfolds.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the lagoon ~Momma Jade and the pelican Flock

Tales from the lagoon ~ Episode- Momma Jade the Dolphin And the Pelicans

Momma Jade is one of the dolphins I have spent the most time with over the past 4 years.  She is very sweet with her babies.  I have watched her for countless hours teach her kiddos with love and patience.  She is very affectionate always giving kisses and hugs to her kids.  She is an amazing fisher girl too.

Lately she has been having a lot of fun with the pelicans.  And there have been a lot of them!  The flock comes in to chase the fish getting away from the dolphins.  Often there is a bird pile up as  Jade comes up with a fish. Sometimes she will toss a fish into the flock and see what happens, other days she wants the fish all to herself.

She never seems to be annoyed with the pelicans in her face.  Just like with her kiddos, she is patient and goes with the flow. She shows the kids how to engage with the birds too, so they have the information on  to handle the long beaks without getting injured.

Stay tuned for more tales!

A small shift can bring unexpected clarity

The star of the sunrise this morning was the amazing cloud art. Several clouds looked like jellyfish in the sky as they floated slowly across the horizon. Before the sunrise the refections and soft colors were breathtaking.

The seagulls were extra cute this morning as we bathed in a tide pool. They were kissing and getting squeaky clean. They said, “Seagulls in general bring the message of looking at like through a different perspective. Just the slightest change in your view can give you an unexpected clarity.”

They went on to say, “If you feel confused, take a few minutes to get the bugs and stress off. Then you will feel lighter and able to spread your wings showing your amazing beauty!”

Wishing you a groovy day friends!

Gratitude makes a heart happy

As I walked to the beach I felt pockets of cool air until my feet hit the sand and warm salty air filled my lungs. The sand felt grounding under my feet. The beautiful colors reflected on the wet sand giving us a mirror image of the morning.

The flock of seagulls flew in loud and chatty to enjoy bath time in a tide pool. When the sun came up it looked like a pumpkin with a stem.

After sunrise a couple dolphin stopped in for a quick snack bringing us the message of community, gratitude and play. They said, “We know the power of coming together to reach a goal. Collaboration is a fun way to thrive while feeling supported.”

“We also recommend gratitude as a way to have a happy heart. We are grateful for Beings who came before us and surround us who created pathways for us to have the life we have.”

Regroup to flourish

Mother Nature brought us a very sweet sunrise with soft colors and silver light sparkling on the calm ocean. With the absence of a breeze the nostrums and mosquitos were giving free acupuncture treatments.

The waves were rolling in perfectly catching the subtle light. The sun used a hole in the clouds to stream and single beam of light through filling the air with a hopeful vibe.

After sunrise, much to my surprise, an anhinga was hanging out at the lagoon. She was both shy and chatty. After swimming around looking for snacks she spent time drying off with her wings open.

She said, “I bring the message of holding your head above water. I am a reminder that persistence and patience is my recipe for reaching my goals. I take time out to rest and regroup so I can flourish in any situation. I recommend utilizing all your resources to actualize your dreams.”

Wishing you beautiful day friends!

Take a bite out of life

Wow a masterpiece of a sunrise for sure! Mother Nature used her unique color palate this morning with purple passion being the star of the show. As the sun came up from behind the clouds the sky filled with an intense bronze hue.

Surprisingly the chatty flock of seagulls are still in town. They flew in to enjoy the gorgeous sunrise too.

The breeze was blowing as the waves churned toward shore. Pelican Highway traffic was jamming heading southbound using the waves to carry them with ease.

They bring the message of alignment. They said, “Not to worry, things are lining up. People and places are lining up behind the scenes to support you.”

On the way off the beach I ran into a squirrel having breakfast. He said, “Don’t hoard your nuts! I’m here to encourage taking a bite out of life and enjoy the nuts you have. You see, joy and gratitude are a great way to attract in more nuts.”

Wishing you a nutty kind of day!

Tap into your courage to keep swimming

Ahhhhh, A sweet and salty sunrise with pretty in pink being the main color choice. Mother Nature used a special paint brush to give us fluffy clouds perfectly placed to look like an angelic ceiling.

The moon is waning as it gets closer to being new on May 30th. As I walked to the beach Venus was close to the moon encouraging us to be open to new ways of experiencing love, abundance and beauty coming into our daily experience.

The flock of seagulls flew in when it was still dark to enjoy in bath time and a long chat. Sharks cruised by in the shallows looking for breakfast. A baby shark brings us the message today.

She said, “Not everyone knows that us sharks are very sensitive. We can feel even subtle energy. And did you know we don’t stop swimming? I’m here to remind you to keep going, even when you want to give up. Use your emotions and sensitivity to guide you forward. Tap into your courage to give you the strength to keep swimming.”

Wishing you a day feeling courage to keep swimming.

You are stronger than you know

Another beautiful reflective sunrise with exquisite colors courtesy of the Sahara Sands. The wind was blowing while the ocean churned. The clouds kept the light from the sun low, adding to the cozy feeling of the morning.

The very chatty flock of seagulls flew in with hearts and wings open. The drama began when the flock found a fish in the waves. They hovered above the fish while each bird tried to pick up the fish that was almost as big as them.

They said, “We bring the message of going for what you want, even if the odds are against you. Sure, it can seem daunting to go after lofty goals. Taking action can give you confidence. We also know life can feel extra heavy at times. We are here to remind you that you are stronger than you know. Keep the faith and stay the course.”

Tales from Pip- Episode - Jet lag is Real

Tales from Pip~ Episode - Jet Lag is Real

Hi!  My name is Pip! If you are just tuning in, let me give you a recap from the previous episodes….I tried to eat a pokey fish, that didn’t go so well and it got stuck in my pouch.

I thought I was doomed until a few nice Hoomans saved me and nursed me back to life.  This was because the bird hospital was closed.   I did well until 6 weeks later when I started to feel really sick. My Hooman friend took me to  a rehab place in St Augustine, Florida.  After a week there,  I set myself free and flew to my home.  Yup 75 miles back to new Smyrna Beach.

That brings us to the past week.

After I flew 75 miles I was exhausted.  Jet lag is a real thing.  Once I got back, each day I flew to my pole and sleep about  5 hours with my Hooman friend Shelley near by. She was pretty worried about me.  I was looking kinda rough, my left leg and foot hurt and I couldn’t keep my eyes open.

Although my foot and leg still hurt I am finally rested from the long flight.  At night, I meet up with my pelican friends for a good night sleep.  This morning I flew to the lagoon with 3 other pelicans, I could hear Shelley cheering down below. I spent the day on my pole and even tried to catch a few fish!  I didn’t catch any, but I am trying.

Even though I am getting a little better each day, my leg and foot has Shelley concerned.

After all our talks and her cheering me on, I decided she was the one who needed the pep talk.

I told her, Trust my journey, whatever that may be. I know my path has been bumpy and uncertain, but that is kinda how life goes. I don’t know what my future holds but for today I am safe and loved.

Stay tuned for more tales!

Opportunity is knocking

Mother Nature was showing off today with her use of huge fluffy clouds like the Macy’s Day Parade. The canvas was double with the sunrise reflecting on the sand. The beauty was truly breathtaking.

Birds were darting here and there, full of life and vitality. The flock of seagulls stopped to say hello at their usual time.

As I was walking off the beach I heard the familiar sound of knocking. A woodpecker was grabbing breakfast and brings us the message of paying attention for opportunities that are knocking at your door.

He looked us and said, “I’m here to encourage you to seize the moment! Renew an old project or start a new one, whatever you do, the answer is to follow what your heart truly desires. You might need to hammer out a few details, but not to worry, the creative process can be fun!”

A good stretch to point you forward

The Sahara sands and fluffy cotton ball clouds brought us a sweet and serene sunrise. A lovely pink hue filled the sky at first light, as the sun came up a bronze glow added to the color show.

The flock of seagulls came in, loud and engaging. They said, “We know we were supposed to fly north by now, but decided to change it up this year. Change is good to keep things fresh and a great way to get out of a comfortable rut."

After sunrise a pelican was hanging out in the river. He said, “Ahhhhh, a good shake and stretch is a great way to get off what’s bugging you.""

I highly recommend giving yourself a daily stretch. Letting go of stress and tension will help guide you forward.”

Being present gives me strength

With thunder storms over night and more on the way the sunrise was a merging of fifty shades of grey with moody blues. Rain was all around adding to the dark and cozy feel. The ocean was calm like a lake, which made the cloud drama stand out more.

An angel bird appeared in the clouds with its wings open wide as if sending a huge hug for comfort. The angel cloud reminds us support is always there. Often assistance is happening behind the scenes, even if you re not aware, the cloud is a reminder you are loved and cared for.

A reddish egret was enjoying watching the morning unfold. She said, “I bring the message of being centered. I have skinny legs so the deeper I rest into them, the more solid I am. Size isn’t what makes me strong, being present is what gives me strength.”

Wishing you beautiful day friends!

Laughter, joy and movement to let stress go

Mother Nature liked the sunrise so much yesterday she recreated it again today using every shade of pink possible. With the wildlife showing up in pairs, the vibe felt romantic. A light breeze, calm ocean, dolphins surfing the waves and a vast pastel sky added to the loving feeling.

The flock of seagulls flew in with wings and hearts open ready to take in the sunrise. As the sun came up it looked like a hot air ballon kissing the ocean good bye for the day.

Two dolphin were surfing the waves as they headed southbound, bringing us the message of play. They remind us how powerful laughter, joy and movement is for letting stress go. Right? Fun is a great way to relieve tension.

Two pelicans hopped off Pelican Highway at a rest stop to take in the sunrise. They were very focused on the moment, taking in the beauty.

They said, “We highly recommend time for rest to recharge your batteries. Not to worry, you won’t miss anything, instead you will be ready and able to soar higher.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

The journey isn’t always a straight path

Mother Nature was showing off today with her gorgeous pretty in pink sweet and serene sunrise. With a light breeze, calm ocean and huge low tide beach, the morning felt expansive and open.

The flock of seagulls flew in extra chatty and full of vim and vigor. One seagull did a ballerina move next to the sun bringing the message of being flexible. She said, “Be open to change, stretching in unique ways can open new doors.”

A dragonfly flitted into the photo with the seagulls remaining us to see the subtle details around us. She said, I also bring the message of transformation and change. Being adaptable is my super power to thrive.”

Lastly, a bold crab stopped me on the dock to say hi. This little nugget had a huge personality! He said, “Like the dragonfly, I believe in being adaptable. You see, us crabs know going sideways and backwards is part of the path."

“I also bring the message of regeneration and patience. When I lose a claw I have the ability to grow it back, I just have to remember to be patient while I heal and repair. “

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Pippa Tales ~ Episode- Home is where the heart is

Tales from the Lagoon~ Pippa Tales~ Episode-  Home is Where the Heart Is

Hi Everyone it’s Me Pippa!   Well actually while I was in rehab I found out I’m probably a boy, so you can call me Pip, short for Pippin.

If you are just tuning in, I’m a brown pelican who after 7 weeks of recovering from a pokey fish stuck in my gullet I started feeling sick.  My Hooman friends helped me go to a bird rehab place in St Augustine, 90 miles from where I was living in New Smyrna Beach.

That was when I took my first car ride!  Wow was that fun, and way easier than flying.  While in rehab I bellied up to the all you can eat sushi bar every day! Yup, everyday.  They said I was a good eater.  After a few days they let me out of my private enclosure into what they called ‘the yard.’

The yard was full of other birds, some like me, some made loud quacking noises and looked funny. In the yard I could fly around and still eat lots of sardines.  I love sardines!  They make me happy.  After a few days in the yard I realized I could fly over the fence where other pelicans were hanging out wild and free.

The best part is I could fly back into the yard and go to a door where the really nice lady brought more fish.  I could be free and go back to belly up to the sushi bar.  It was really great.

But, something was missing.  I missed my dolphin and pelican friends from New Smyrna Beach. And of course I missed my hooman friends who saved me form the pokey fish. So…..I decided I would eat as I could and start heading south.  I’m not very good with time but I think I took off  Tuesday morning just as the sun was coming up and kept flying until I landed back in the lagoon with my friends on Wednesday around 10AM.

When Shelley, my hooman friend saw me on my pole where I was waiting for her, she yelled Pippin!!!!!!  I jumped off my pole and went right to her.  I flapped my wings in her face a lot.  She didn’t even yell at me about personal space.  We did a little dance in the water, then I slept on my pole for 6 hours. I was really, really tired from my flight.

I’m not sure how, but my left foot hurts so I have a little resting and healing to do….again. I hope to be around to share how that goes.

What I learned in the past week is that even though I love the sushi bar, my home is where my heart is, which is in New Smyrna Beach.

Stay tuned for more tales!
