Commit to your hearts desire
Mother Nature wanted to spice things up a bit bringing us a hint of a Florida winter day in the middle of spring. So many birds and dolphins water to celebrate the cold snap and abundant fish.
A pair of dolphins surfed the waves before the sun came up to greet the day. The flock of seagulls was huge like it was a winter day. They were chatty, wings up and ready for love.
Pelican Highway was jamming today! They were stopping at rest stops everywhere to grab snacks. They said, “Dive in! Go ahead, commit to what your heart truly wants and go for it.” The pelican diving toward the sun said, “I highly recommend visualizing the sun filling you up with love and all the energy you need.”
After sunrise in the river I saw Danika the dolphin and friends. I was excited to see Pippa the Pelican who had the pokey fish stuck in her gullet a few weeks ago. She was diving and catching fish along with a few other pelicans. She came right over to say hello, then went back to her friends. My heart was overflowing see her thrive!
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- More from Momma Jade
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- More from Momma Jade
If you are just tuning in, I met Momma Jade in April 2019. She is one of the most nurturing momma dolphins I have had the honor to watch. She had a baby with her in 2019, I call Ruby and this year showed up with a new baby I call Opal. However I think Opal might be a boy….if so maybe Topaz or Taz? What do you think?
Momma Jade is very affectionate and patient with her kiddos and the other kiddos in pod. She is also very fun and loves to tease the pelicans, however, I noticed her being extra gentle with Pippa. She didn’t bump her or tease her. I think she knew Pippa was in recovery from the pokey fish.
Since we have spend quite a bit of time together she likes to come show off for the camera and is sometimes a little too close to the get the shot.
She also likes to play the mangrove seed game which means she tosses it out in from t of her then either she or the kiddo grab it and toss it up. This game can go on for a really long time or just a couple seconds. I’m not an expert but it seems the moms are teaching the kids the technique to tossing fish while having fun!
Stay tuned for more tales!

Saying open to all possibilities
Mother Nature used her wispy paint brush this morning filling the sky with sweet and soft brush strokes. The clouds soaked up the pastel colors adding to the heart opening vibe. At first there was a distinct absence of wildlife but then it was as if a doorway opened and the flock of seagulls, sandpipers and Pelican Highway showed up.
Pelican Highway traffic stopped for snacks at a nearby rest stop. When they started grabbing snacks, the seagulls went to join in the fun.
The message today comes from the birds, reminding us to utilize all our resources. As a seagull stood on the head of the pelican she said, “Think outside the box for available resources. Sometimes, the people or places you least expect can help you reach your goal.”
The pelicans added to the message saying, “Be ready to stop and change directions. Expect the unexpected, while staying open to all possibilities. This way you won’t get stuck in how things ‘should be’ and things you never even dreamed of can manifest.”
Wishing you an abundant day friends!

ERRRRRRRR. Slamming on the brakes
Know when to assert and when to refrain
The wind was chilly this morning, keeping the ocean flat like a pancake. As the sun came up, small waves started to develop. A small flock of seagulls flew in before the sunrise to say hello.
One of them was quite the prankster, flying in with only one leg showing. He landed still just one leg, did a nice stretch then dropped the other leg! He said, “I was doing a little weight training to keep my legs strong, and I bring the message, “Things are not always what they seem. If you are uncertain, wait until you feel more clarity.”
After sunrise a bald eagle was in a high speed chase with an osprey, dodging sailboat masts around the marina. They were both screaming as they made fighter jet maneuvers. A few minutes into the chase, much to my surprise, the bald eagle gave up and flew away.
The bald eagle said, “Just because I can overpower the osprey doesn’t mean I should. Sure, I have the reputation of being a bully but I am here to encourage knowing when to assert yourself and when to restrain. Balance is one way to soar even higher than you think you can."
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

the healing journey of Pippa the Pelican
I have to be away from the sunrise today, so Pippa the Pelican asked me to share her healing journey.
March 21, 2022 was a scary day for me. You see I’m an immature brown pelican which is a fancy way to say I’m young. You see, I was really hungry and I ate a filleted fish carcass of a sheepshead.
This fish has sharp spikes that got caught in my gullet also known as my pouch. I couldn’t get it unstuck. It was awful, but I guess I’m lucky because my pouch didn’t tear. I couldn’t eat or fly so I sat on the edge of the water for a couple days wondering what to do.
I can’t remember if the fish was given to me or if I found it in the water, but either way, I think it’s best if fisherfolk don’t trust us birds not to eat the pokey fish.
6 people came to my rescue, 3 of them held me and had their hands in my gullet to turn the fish around, getting it unstuck to pull it out. It was like having a porcupine in my mouth.
I was weak and nauseous and although it was scary having all those hands on me, I knew they were trying to help. When they got the fish fish out I was so relieved, I flew a few feet away, swam to the beach and stayed there for 2 days.
Shelley and the fishermen said the bird hospital is closed because of a bird flu. Shelley called a bird expert who advised the hoomans to feed me, this of course made me very happy.
For the first 2 days I was disoriented and couldn’t see the fish they were giving me. I slept a lot in a cozy little spot in the mangroves on the beach out of the wind. Shelley sat with me for long periods of time to keep me company. Sometimes we were just quiet together and other times she was giving me pep talks about getting my own fish.
3 days after the fish was removed when I was sitting with Shelley I decided it would be a good time to get the bugs off and so I waddled in into the water and flapped my wings, splashing around in the cool water. Shelley said, it was like taking the best shower ever. She was very excited I was feeling up to grooming. This was a good day!
It took me 5 days to be able to fly more that 15 feet, at first it was hard to get up in the air but when I did, it felt amazing! I couldn’t go very far at first, it took a couple more days to be able to really fly. At this point when Shelley gave me food she would throw it so I had to chase it, but these fish were not alive so I was able to catch them pretty good.
7 days post pokey fish I could really fly! And boy was that a relief. For a bird, being grounded isn’ t a good thing.
One day I was hanging with Shelley where the dolphin were and she said, Why don’t you go see if the dolphins will toss you a fish.” I tried, but those mature pelicans are a bit intense and scared me so I pooped a lot! I've learned only to hang out with the mom dolphins and their kids, it tends to be less crazy.
The turning point in my recovery was when I saw Shelley in the water with the dolphins along with a few fisherfolk on the dock. This was 13 days after the pokey fish removal.
I flew up next to Shelley away from the dolphin mayhem, and the fisherfolk tossed me some little fish out of a net. It was like Pennies from heaven, it was raining little fish.
Something about being stronger and catching live fish gave me a new confidence!
The next day I ate little fish on my own! And I started diving for fish too! I wasn’t able to catch fish by diving but I tried and I tried and I tried. It took me until the next day to be able to dive and catch a fish but I did it! Shelley was there and cheered my success.
I wanted to share my pokey fish story for a couple reasons. First, I love fish, shrimp not so much, so if you are a fisherfolk and toss a fish my way I’m gonna eat it. Please don’t toss us birds those pokey fish!
Also I wanted to share how the compassion of the hoomans saved my life. They were all so nice. So many people came together to give me fish and compassion.
I spent a lot of time sitting on the beach alone, or on the dock. When I was on the dock, no-one yelled at me, they were nice enough just to walk by.
Everyone was very kind and I’m grateful. I learned how healing takes time. I thought once the fish was out I would be good as new, but it really was a journey to have my mind and body recover. I believe the secret to a happy life is patience, compassion and fish!
Wishing you a happy day friends!
The day after the pokey fish, I’m still tired and disoriented.
3 days post pokey fish in my safe place where I can rest
2 days post pokey fish, I can fly short distances close to the ground.
9 days post pokey fish
12 days post pokey fish and I’m looking good!
14 days post pokey fish and I’m getting a fish on my own!
12 days post pokey fish with my friend Shelley
Embrace the change in and around you
A gorgeous spring sunrise featuring a giant dragonfly cloud before the sun came up to greet the day. When I saw the cloud, I thought how great it would be to see a real dragonfly too....and one showed up! It had cool stripes just like the sun.
The dragonfly brings the message of transformation and change. She said, ”Embrace the change in and around you. I am here to remind you to bring more lightness and joy into your life during transition.”
After sunrise, A pod of dolphins came in to play. Momma Jade and her newest baby Opal wanted to connect along with a few other babies. Baby Opal tossed up a stick said, “Step out into nature and play! Nature has all kinds of ways to be silly and light.”
Have a wonderful day friends!

You have the power to soar
Mother Nature brought us another stunning spring like sunrise. The breeze was salty and soft against my skin. The haze added to the serenity of the morning. A small flock of seagulls, a few ruddy turnstones and sand pipers stopped by to enjoy the sunrise but skipped bath time.
Just after sunrise, an immature bald eagle flew by while a school of fish jumped in unison. The bald eagle said, “I represent resilience and stamina bringing you the message of keeping the faith when the journey feels difficult. You have the power to soar higher than you believe.”
I am also a symbol of leadership and authority. And although I can be a bully, I bring the message of using your power for good. Be the good you want to see in their world and the sky is the limit.”
The fish said, “School isn’t just for leaning but when we stick together we find comfort and safety. And look how cool we look jumping together, the power of many is a real thing.”
Wishing you a beautiful day!

Fish Fly
Tales from the lagoon~ Episode - Dolphins gives fish an epic flight
I was pretty excited to see a couple male dolphins I haven’t seen since last summer. They were having a blast with each other, boaters and the pelicans.
In this series the dolphin gives the fish an epic toss while the pelicans align themselves to catch the fish while the dolphin patiently waits….
The fish was practically in the pelican’s gullet but somehow he missed it?! Then the pelican lunged full on, under water trying to grab the fish but the dolphin had already picked up the fish and left the scene. The pelicans looked around as if saying, “What just happened?”
Stay tuned for more tales!
Dolphin gives a fish an epic flight then waits….
The pelican is going to get the fish, right?!
The pelican missed the fish on the way down, so he lunged forward to grab the fish…..
“What?! The dolphin got the fish?! How did that happen?” said all the pelicans.
You have all the resources you need
Ahhhhh, a lovely spring sunrise with a pink and orange color show thanks to the huge sun coming up free from clouds. Just a handful of seagulls are hanging around. The waves were perfectly formed beckoning to the surfers to come play.
A stingray and a pelican came together to bring us a combo message. The stingray brings the message of knowing you have everything you need to move forward. She went on to say, “Doors are opening, you just have to move, use your senses to know which direction to go.”
The pelican with attitude chimed in saying,”Let go of the feelings of lack, you have all the resources inside you to reach your goal. If you feel off balance, spend time with your flock to feel centered, giving you strength to fly forward.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Can you hear me now?
Finding Joy in Everyday chores
Fifty shades of dark and heavy grey clouds covered every inch of the sky except a sliver just above the ocean that filled with hopeful orange and golden glow.
A solo surfer and o were the only people on the beach for a while. When he went into the water, it was very dark the only light was coming from the channel marker. The stillness, calm ocean and his presence waiting for a wave was a powerful scene.
The surfer brings us the message of timing, waiting for the right moment to surf the momentum. The channel marker encourages us to be the light, helping to guide the way. Be the person who shines bright spreading hope and joy infectiously.
Shortly after sunrise, a pod of dolphins were showing off their artsy talent making beautiful shapes and art with their splash. They remind us to play and find the beauty in our every day chores. They said, “We fish everyday, but it’s never boring because we find a way to play and enjoy the moment.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

TALES FROM THE LAGOON~ EPISODE- DOLPHIN DAY OF CONNECTION
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Danika and Bestie Day of Connection
It was an overcast sunrise, so rather than grey photos, i thought I’d share a love connection from the lagoon.
Danika and his bestie spent a lot of time snuggling and relaxing when they were not grabbing fish. Courtesy of their snuggle moves, I’m pretty sure Danika showed me he is a male dolphin.
The closeness these two shared was very sweet. I could feel their love and respect for each other as they hung out nose to nose with long moments of practically spooning. Truly an honor to witness such a connection.
When they were not being amorous they were grabbing snacks and playing the the pelicans. An osprey even joined in the fun making a huge thud as she plopped down in the middle of the fish frenzy.
Stay tuned for more tales!

Tales from the lagoon~ Episode- Show me your belly
Tales from the Lagoon- Episode- Show Me Your Belly!
It's the time of year when the babies and young dolphin show up. The moms and other adults are teaching them all kinds of techniques.
Today the lesson was tail slapping, a helpful technique used to help catch fish. Today the mom smacked her tail probably 10 times before this youngin' followed her lead and smacked his tail! It felt like the adult dolphins and myself all cheered for this little nugget learning his new skill.
Often I 'll say to the dolphins, "Show me your belly!" This little nugget came around to to check out the camera a few times, with the supervision of his momma. When he passing by I said, "Show me your belly." And he popped out of the water!
Seeing their belly can let us know the gender. He's not fully out of the water, but I'm leaning toward a male. Males have an exclamation point on their belly ( 1 long line and one short)
and females have a division sign. ( 1 long line and 2 short on each side of the long line)
Whether male of female, so much fun to spend time with this nugget.
Stay tuned for ore tales!

Now is the time to take action
With whipping wind and a churning ocean, the energy was invigorating. The flock of seagulls flew in and used the wind to hang in place. The pre sunrise sky filled with a vibrant and intense pink.
To the west a swirly pink portal looking cloud appeared. Maybe I watched too much Star Trek as a kid but it felt like an opening streaming positive energy through it. Ahhhh, soaking good vibrations is good for the soul.
An osprey caught breakfast, then flew by to show off her fish. She said, “Now is the time to take action. Let it be ok if it doesn’t work out perfectly, just keep flying forward. Not to worry, the way in which things unfold is always purposeful. When you catch your goal, take time to celebrate! The energy of celebration attracts more celebratory energy.”
Wishing you a groovy day friends!
Tales from the Lagoon~ Episode- Quality time together
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- A Dolphin and Solo Pelican Sharing Quality Time
I had the great pleasure of hanging out with this solo dolphin and pelican for 45 minutes. The dolphin and pelican seemed to be enjoying each others company. The dolphin have moods just like us and on some days they are in the mood to play with the pelicans, other days they are more in the mood to tease and pick on the birds.
Yesterday the dolphin was well aware of his pelican friend and appeared patient and kind, like old friends grabbing breakfast together.
This couple spent a lot of time hanging out close in between high speed chases for fish. The dolphin was making a huge wake which seemed to be soaking the pelicans but he stayed in mix grabbing snacks. More photos showing the wall of water coming in the next post.
Stay tuned for more tales!
Wednesday sunrise is 2 posts earlier. :)

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Hanging in the Splash Zone
Ah, what a joyful day with babies, mommas, and a flock of pelicans. The pelicans were right up in the mix getting drenched in the splash zone hoping to grab a fish.
This young dolphin was popping out of the water like popcorn. For the first photo, I was facing the other way, turned and snapped, feeling lucky today!
So fun to catch them out of the water. Most often they are under the water making huge walls of water with their speed.
Stay tuned for more tales!
PS ~ Sunrise from Wednesday is previous post.
Rest into the stillness
Fluffy pink and purple clouds filled the pre sunrise sky. The pink eventually became a powerful golden glow as the sun came up from behind a heart shaped cloud.
The flock of seagulls flew in at their usual time and were extra frisky. I think they like the warmer weather we are having.
After sunrise a blue heron was hanging out on the dock looking very still and focused. She said, “I bring the message of resting into the stillness. You see when you spend time in the quiet, awareness can come. Tranquility is a nice way to calm the nervous system which supports your immune system.”
“I’m also here to remind you to stay determined. Keep the faith even when things are muddy and confusing, stay the course, you will find your way.”
Wishing you beautiful day friends!
Fresh energy in love and abundance
Mother Nature brought us a carbon copy of the pretty in pink sunrise from yesterday. The breeze created texture on the ocean as the sun came up looking like a beautifully painted Easter egg.
The almost new moon (April 1 and April 30 solar eclipse) was bright in the sky. With the pink backdrop it was stunning! The new moon brings fresh starts and new energy. This new moon encourages healing, bringing us the courage to get clarity on how we want to move forward with our life.
This morning the moon looked like it was having a conversation with Venus. Venus is the planet of love and abundance. The two together remind us fresh starts in love, beauty and abundance are available to us.
As the sun came up an egret landed in the deep sand behind me, walked up next to me and watched the sun come up. I could see the sunrise through his eyes giving me a new perspective.
He said, “Egrets are known for the skinny legs. You see, even though are legs are skinny, we are strong. We know how to hang out in the moment, yet ready to move forward when the time strikes us.”
Then, he walked in front of the sun, looked right at me and said, “Hey lady, got any fish?” I said, “Sorry I don’t have any, Go fish.”
Wishing you a day filled with fresh energy!

Let yourself dream
Ahhhhh A springtime sunrise with beautiful pastel pink, orange and gold color show. The ocean was calm with perfect waves rolling toward shore. Dolphins grabbing breakfast on the horizon looking like they were drag racing the fishing boats.
As the sun came up I saw three people walking across the sun. They remind us we have support and help, all we have to do is ask.
A solo loon was hanging out just letting the current carry her northbound. She brings a very powerful message that our wishes are coming true.
She said, ”I am the messenger of tranquilly and serenity. I’m here to reawaken your old hopes and dreams. Go ahead, let yourself dream, follow your visions, let your heart guide you forward.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Let the stress fall away
With a brisk wind and clear sky, the sun came up unencumbered bringing with with it a vibrant orange and golden glow. The flock of seagulls is growing in size again! They flew in loud and full of personality. Bath time was pure joy as they flapped around tossing droplets of colored water into the air.
One of the seagulls spread her wings, lifted straight up and as the excess water fell off she said, “Go ahead take a few minutes to let go of what you don’t need anymore. Let it drip off like sweat, trust me you feel so much lighter.”
Pelicans were rapid fire diving past the waves. They said, “Go ahead dive in! We find when we dive in with friends we have more success. Teamwork with likeminded friends is a key ingredient to our full stomachs.”
Wishing you a day hanging with your flock!
