A time out to feel restored
With thick Sahara sand in the air and a heavy layer of moist fog hugging the shore, the morning felt both thick and cozy, like the world was wrapped in a soft, muted blanket.
Everything appeared almost black and white until the sun rose like a glowing bronze ball, slowly warming the scene with light adding a dash of color.
The Sahara sand, carried all the way from Africa, reminds us how deeply connected we are—oceans apart, yet woven together by wind, sky, and spirit.
A large flock of laughing gulls flew in for their daily bath, chattering and splashing with joy. One of them looked right at me and said, “Remember, just one step at a time. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, slow down and focus on the next step. That’s enough.”
Later, a mom squirrel resting on the boardwalk—taking a moment from her nursing duties—paused to bask in the rising sun. She said, “Stepping away from responsibility, even briefly, to soak in nature fills me back up. It’s how I’m able to keep giving.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
